The argument about if you have real siblings or not is kinda like video game violence to me. If you like to kill people in video games, you're not gonna start killing them in real life... so if you like to watch brother and sister get it on in anime, it doesn't mean you want to actually do your sister in real life. |

I have siblings and I watch incest. As long as it doesn't apply to real life it's fine by me. I'd say it's a bit of both - I do see a a lot of people who dislike incest (or most often pseudo-incest) topics in anime citing the fact that they have siblings as the reason. But I do not think there's any real pattern in having siblings in people who like it. I have siblings, but I personally think that's irrelevant to the anime I watch. I'm certainly not thinking about my own family when I watch a fictional family. There are many other influences that can affect what you do and don't like to watch, but I think having a family is a bit too irrelevant to affect the majority of people who would prefer to avoid this. I'm not saying it wouldn't apply to anyone at all, but probably wouldn't on many. It'd be more viable to link to a survey if you want to prove otherwise. |

High school girl, Kanzaki Mitsuki, just got a new older brother when her mother remarries a fellow divorcée with a son. Soon after, her new step dad gets transferred overseas and her mother follows him there, leaving Mitsuki alone with her new step brother, Yuuya. Feeling abandoned by her mother, she stays distant from Yuuya, never really getting along very well with him nor even keeping a conversation with him. However, one day, Mitsuki gets visited by an angel/ghost named Hiyori who takes over her body and tries to make sexual advancements towards Yuuya. |

I think that's the reason but it doenst have to be, i made a lot grammatical errors in my post and i was actually asking a question not giving a statement(but after reading it again it looks like a statement). I find my sisters annoying as hell,so i stay away from them since our house is big. The thought of getting along with them is terrifying but the thought of having a romantic relationship with is horrifying(to me) but it's fiction it's not a big deal. Incest doesn't swing with everyone for various reasons. My twin is a big fan of Yosunga no Sora, interpret that however you please. |

That's a weird awkward synopsis. I'll watch but I'm not sure if I'm expecting much, how enjoyable could it be if the imouto is doing these things against her will? I'd understand it if it were an H doujin, but... oh well, as I always say, time will show us the truth |

considering how NakaImo and Onii-chan no Koto sold, and how OniAi is supposedly going to sell, I'm surprised they adapted another incest title. I don't recall seeing NakaImo getting a boost on novel sales. And can anyone tell me how much of a boost OniAi got? I think it was selling 40k per volume before the anime was announced? Curiosity is gonna kill me one day. |

Dude, you can watchh incest and like it wether you have siblings or not, people have different reasons to watch it, some of them include having "those" kind of feelings towards your siblings, not saying anything's wrong with that but don't go categorizing people and generalising them. i have a little sister, i watched some incest anime, but i'm not attracted to my sister "that" way, i watch the anime for what it is, though there is no denying that some people do watch incest because of their attraction to their siblings. But even then, it is still a bit of a weak argument. If you think about it psychologically, you could very easily assume that there aren't that any key differences between those who do have siblings and those that do not. What determines your values and affects your tastes in entertainment lies with how you are influenced by life experiences. Now, if your family has that much of an impact on your being, then yes, it could very well be a determining factor in your character. But there are those who have siblings that can be just as easily influenced by exposure to things such as ecchi anime and Japan's thing for incest could enter into the fray somewhere down the road. It could very well have just as much impact on those who don't have siblings as those who do. IceBurn said: Keep it civil guy, im sure your vocab is large enough to avoid swearing. The only difference is that I've been clear that I'm not purporting to do a scientific analysis. The only reason I replied at all was not to take either side, but to suggest a possible middle ground based on comments I've read from others. Your mileage may vary depending on who you've talked to. But my argument isn't based off of the people I've talked to about this one subject, it has a more expanded view on how others' tastes can be affected by other general experiences and that it takes more than just the factor of sibling relationships to affect whether or not you can enjoy incest anime. Granted, it is hypothetical in nature, but it still makes a lot of sense. |

Sounds like a horribly constructed fanservice setting with a lot of elements that I find repulsive. But even if not, that synopsis just sounds awful, it's not even trying. Throw in siblings and make the girl get out-of-control and wanting/needing to fuck. Hentai can do better. |
I probably regret this post by now. |

Sounds like an imaginatively constructed fanservice setting with a lot of elements that I find appealing. And that synopsis proves fascinating even without giving all the details. Throw in siblings and make the girl get out-of-control or the guy getting lucky fanservice.. It may have even more potential than what ToLoveRu can offer. Hentai is definitely far poorer channel to express libido compared with this kind of creation. |
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old? I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them? I wonder how long people would put up with this. As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series. |

^ Yeah, perhaps.... Anyway, joke aside. The more I research about this manga, the less I think it is that close to ToLoveRu. For one, ImoCho (the nickname used in Japan) is not harem but more like a love comedy with all the veneer of bends and twists that seem to cater for male fantasy. Yet the fact that the author is a female still shows - reviews I read often mention the detailed and sensitive depiction of the thinking and observation by the characters. Some even claim that it is indeed a shoujo manga that is wrapped in a thick clothes of male fanservice genre. I am now even more interested about this manga. Perhaps I should just go and see if I can find the manga to read.... |

I don't even think it's the incest that bothered her, but rather the sexualization of a young child. She even defended him by saying that it's okay as long as it's not in real life and by saying she also probably has weird preferences. She just questioned it, that's all. Like I questioned what the appeal of incest was on the second page (Which by the way, thanks for all who answered. I guess it's the whole "forbidden fruit" kind of appeal. Plus having a moe little girl calling you "onii-chan" is pretty cute.). |
