Ok so... Yashiro is in fact the colorless king? And he doesn't remember being evil..? Was it actually him that summoned that sword or was that Neko's illusion? I'm still a bit confused.

Also... Reisi and Fushimi look SO MUCH ALIKE. AHHH. Fushimi is still the best though..

That was Neko.
Yashiro didn't demonstrated any power.

Kuro opened a path for Neko and Shiro to escape by, which they did. On second thought Shiro didn't want to leave Kuro behind so he took advantage of the confusion and sent Neko impersonating him as the colorless king.

Obviously Yashiro is being framed by that guy with long hair which is likely to be his twin or at least someone related to him.

/Theory crafting/
I believe it'll go in the line of: The last colorless king had two sons but only one could inherit the power of the colorless king. Shiro's brother, for the sake of obtaining that power, sacrificied his brother.
Shiro was probably meant to be the next colorless king and was favored by their father since he is "good" while in contrast their father already could see that his brother was "evil" and would misuse this power.
Following this thought I'm sure that the colorless king's power is somewhere inside Shiro. Most likely Shiro did succeed to this power but he got backstabbed right at the end. With his death, the power would automaticaly go to the second possible successor, basically his brother.
This pretty much failed because he is still alive. Not knowing where Shiro is, framming him for something and making the strongest people in the city want his neck was the best thing to do to get him killed wherever he hides.
Still that power is still somewhere inside Shiro and he'll probably use it by the end of the show, once he realise the truth and want to protect the people close to him.

The only thing I'm not sure about is the blood stained vest inside Yashiro's closet.
Still, according to Neko, Yashiro got into the school for the first time the night of the murder which wasn't long ago. This either means that the vest is unrelated to the murder or was put there by someone else than Shiro.

I was wondering when someone would bring this up. It wasn't Shiro since he disappeared into thin air leaving behind a bunch of flowers.

Your theory about that guy with white hair seems plausible. If he cut his hair and had the ability to sound like Shiro then he would be the most likely suspect.

I for one loved this episode. This series has been sort of boring for me so far and I'm so happy that it's now starting to get good. Neko's powers are really amazing.

Maaaan I got so excited for a second because I thought that Shiro finally got some hidden powers unleashed...then I realized it was Neko's illusions ;/. Well I thought it was a good episode, though they could have done better with the action and all. Looks like we're finally learning about Shiro's true identity...bout damn time.

Gosh!! I thought that Shiro revealed his true power now, but It is just only Neko's illusion! Still, I love the whole episode like the last... many questions are being answered and many questions have been piled up. Last week, I've been wondering why the title is " Key ", but now I understand. There is many key that answered our questions and I am so happy that my other theories about Shiro is correct! ><

Damn Adolf!! He is so badass and sadistic! >< How can he do that to Shiro? And if he is the one that caused Shiro to fall, then why he still watching Shiro and said " Why?". Is he wondering that Shiro is still alive after what he have done to him? Or just he is dissapointed that despite of what he did and still happening to Shiro, the boy's power are still not awaken ><

I got a feeling that those two since episode 2 has a really deep bond to each other ( Shiro and Silver king ) [ Family related?]

Ahhh!!! I really want an answer now, but first I really want to watch the next episode, The silver king is on the next episode!! >< More answers to come

Blue king vs. Kuro, but Blue king is stronger? Neko used the power to show that Shiro has the power and got Kuro out. Kuro realized that it was Neko made the fact that seems that everyone knows him (so... it's the truth that everyone doesn't know him?)

The truth revealing... It was true about Shiro at the gym, which also the first time meeting Neko and everyone (with her power). And the previous king of no color got him down?

I'm not sure what you mean but the first 9 mins. was to cooperate with Japan schedule, which aired 9 mins. late today.

oh really?, but they do cut some part. the part where neko hold shiro's hand and the 3 of them escape. and obviously the ending theme.

He meant how this episode had so much censorship especially in Malaysian TV (Animax). Maybe it's because it's too explicit to show Neko in the TV which I couldn't care less to watch. It'll be better IF they put censor blur instead.

That's case it's too erotic and the ones who cut find it not good for the health of the people seeing in general. Less you go there and make them change their ways, it won't happen.

Now that being said even the end showed a zoomed closeup of Neko's ass in the spoiler (NSFW)
so it's no surprise they cut that out too along with full naked shots of Neko for the ED.

On top of that during the episode you can see her privates, breasts and ass a lot more than before. No censored blanked out and in plain view.

No way, if they think it's not good for others to see, they won't show it.

After some google-fu that seems to be a screenshot from this Vivid Red Operation trailer PV http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkfPNwlCX_0 .

Neko keeps me from fully enjoying this anime.

Just when things are going really well (ex: ep. 6) it takes her to completely ruin the mood.
I know she's there to be running around naked but can't she do it more quietly?

So, I also have another question regarding Neko:

Why does Neko hate cell phones?

It's probably not significant for the story but I'm a little curious.

Well, Neko's manipulation is centered around Neko (explained by Blue King), if people are too far, she can't manipulate them. And, cellphone can connect people from far away...there you go, they can communicate with unmanipulated "Isana's friends". Of course, Neko hates that.

Aw man, the fight between Seri and Kuroh was way too short! I want to see more of Seri's awesome fighting moves :( Not to mention this episode was sorely lacking scenes with Seri with her hair let down, just saying!

I was surprised though; it seems Neko does have some minimal use. I still think her character design is stupid; too much fanserivce and too little intelligence.

No they didn't. That's just a character from the Vivid Red Operation PV that aired just after K. Not related to K.
Are you sure, for me it was Neko, that pic/part and end ED credits with Neko. Someone played a good one on me.
That is clearly from ViviPan (that is Vivid Red Operation). This was even announced it in Twitter and blog a few days beforehand. Actually just from the way they draw and the angle it took I would most likely to link it with Strike Witches, which is a sibling of Vivid Red Operation anyway, but definitely not Neko.

Anyway, it is good to see the last shot of ED with the cat curling and sleeping finally appeared in the anime. I am glad that I was right back in ep.1&2 in saying Neko has an important role not just for fanservice or comedy effect. They call her a "strain" which seems to be animals that have special power and can adopt human form?

And I am glad that the staff told us that the story would only take a gear change after 6 episodes.

And the shot of the airship at the end - I wonder if anyone notices it is from a Chorale Prelude for organ by JS Bach "Vater unser im Himmelreich" BWV 683 Cool stuff !

So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

Now that's really make sense. This episode does explained a lot!!

Neko was the one responsible for all those incidents. Changing everyone's memories, including Shiro's, but she may not be able to change the database. That's why Shiro was never a student in the database and he never even have a PDA. Perhaps due to her power can only last for a given duration of time, that's what makes everyone starts to forget about Shiro back in ep. 6.

What more puzzled is that the mysterious man appeared in ep. 3 kicked Shiro out of the airship and fell into the old storeroom.

There must be a reason for it, most probably to given him a mission to prevent a catastrophic event from happening, as mentioned by an old man back in ep. 1.

Just a speculation. Could a murder of one of Homra's member be part of the plan, and even Totsuka agreed to kill himself (or might make a fake death) for sake of an unexplained motive?

5/5 for this, anyway.

No it doesn't interfere with her power.
Neko's power only work in a certain radius around her, the phone do not interfere with her power in any way. It's simply a mean to communicate with someone outside of Neko's range, basically someone currenty not brainwashed by her power.

Interfering would imply that it would get in the way of her power which it does not.
Neko's brainwash isn't permanent, it's only an illusion. The cellphone isn't cancelling her power, it allow people to contact others outside of her power's range.

So season 2maybe when this series get's popular enough? I hope so, I like it so far. Although I think that naked Neko is a little bit too much fanservice and totally unsuitable with the anime =P

Well, in Chapter 3, Kuroh explains what are the strains. Strains are beings (they can be humans or animals) who have powers and these powers have not been granted by a king.

I'm not sure that Neko is a cat. When he destroyed the illusions, she became human.

Finally the drapes are pulled up on a lot of the mystery regarding the plot. So Neko was screwing with peoples memories huh? That makes sense within the context of her powers. A plot twist while surprising yet believable. I liked seeing how Shiro and Neko met and why she's so attached. Her outfit was really cute when looked like a movie director hehe.

No you didn't get it.
Neko always tried to protect Shiro ever since the moment they met. Shiro is Neko's Shiro and she likes him. She does not want him to change, she does not want him to remember his past and become someone else.
That's why she made sure that Shiro would never notice about her manipulating other's memory.

The reason she didn't want Shiro to use that phone is because if he had called his friends at school, they wouldn't know Shiro. He would slowly but surely get closer to remembering his old memories and would understand that his life at that school were only a lie. Not only that he might end up hating Neko.

The phone have nothing to do with this, she does not hate the phone in anyone, what she hate is Shiro finding out the truth.

Actually a enjoyable episode, this series has clearly been a disappointment in many ways but its slowly getting better or at the very least coming together, what the end result will be, well time will tell.

I second this.

This episode was a lot better than any of the episodes so far, we actually had some plot development this time.
Although this show has a really high budget, I still notice that they do have a budget. Some of the things just weren't animated which isn't really noticeable. But the re-used scenes from the opening are really noticeable.
I wonder how this'll turn out, it can go pretty much go any way depending on what happens.
I almost never read discussions after I made my post, if you want to reply PM me or post on my profile page.

And the shot of the airship at the end - I wonder if anyone notices it is from a Chorale Prelude for organ by JS Bach "Vater unser im Himmelreich" BWV 683 Cool stuff !

Correlation is not causation.

The line is from one of the German versions of the Lord's Prayer. That's where Bach got it from too.

Hmmm~ interesting. I didn't think the Blue King was that kind of person... And the fighting scenes were so beautiful.

The writing for this show has always been haphazard and slapdash but serviceable. It's been carried through on pure energy, pretty animation and a bunch of eclectic that the show has managed to make work most of time which is why the hamfisted plot device in this episode is really disappointing. It takes the writing from shaky but serviceable to complete bullshit levels.

I mean Shiro literally got kicked out of a blimp and landed on a plot device. I could accept if Neko was a part of his past, then her place in the story would be fine, but it breaks all suspension of disbelief for him to have randomly landed on something that conveniently has all the power needed to make the story so far happen. Without that piece of pure dumb luck none of Shiro's story up until now would have happened. Neko has effectively stalled all progress for seven episodes and just now we are getting in on the story, making most of what happened with Shiro up to now pointless. Neko isn't a character, she's walking fanservice with plot device powers. I don't mind of the fanservice so much as a large part of the show is tossing in just about every kind of fanservice imaginable, but her having these convenient powers that Shiro just happened to land on sucks. It's terrible writing and now after seven episodes the story is finally started because she's been blocking progress.

Up to this point the show has been kind of a guilty pleasure. When it started it had a lot of energy and momentum, and that energy carried me through some of the dumber moments, but this latest revelation is just so stupid that it's disappointing and doesn't give me much faith that now that it's getting somewhere the anime is going to be able to give me a decent story to explain what's going on. I could be wrong, but for now I'm really disappointed with this, because this twist is just shockingly bad. Shiro just fell ass backwards into the plot.

Neko's so much better as a kitty. But oh well.

And meh, evil Germans again.

I hate how they repeat Seri's signature pose of butt and boobs before doing her slash attacks.

Kuroh is so weak in this ep. And Shiro brought out that power, deus ex machina.
Can't believe Neko is the culprit behind his amnesia and the fake friendship of Shiro to others.
