| I'm enjoying the show so far, I thought it was kinda funny when the hero got stabbed in the side and just ignored it until the crazy bitch pointed it out, then he pulled out a book. Hah! Good stuff, and the Baalzebul spell also served to educate the audience about the origin of the name (Baal, a thunder and lightning god who was rival to Jehovah, which is why the Jews took his name and made it into another name for Satan). It did run a little long tho, while the golem waited patiently for him to finish his spell. Dalian's cute as hell, between "Yesu" and her "-desu"s. Even if she does have a stereotypical tsundere personality. 4/5 |
| Felt a lot like the first episode, but I'm still okay with it. Full thoughts on episode two are here on my blog. Overall I like the tone, premise, and characters--but I'm hoping the plot will surprise me a bit more in future episodes. Edit: Also, summoning lightning with a magical book, eh? ZAKER!!! |

| The OP is just fantastic! Candidate for best of the year? The main characters are actually really good, I like them and enjoy watching them. This is crucial to me. A series can have a genius plot, but if the characters are bland and boring I can't get into it properly. It could make things a bit more interesting to keep my attention better, though... but this show is really good so far. Also, production values are excellent, it's a treat to look at. Also. The repetition is indeed slightly boring, but I see what they're going for. I guess I just prefer repetition of transformation scenes and such in the more FABULOUS~ series (looking at you two, Enokido and Ikuhara). |

Funny you mention this. I had thoughts that the show might have been trying to pull a Haruhi. I thought that the episode had very little continuity with the first and I was also rather surprised by Dalian's stronger than usual attachment to Hugh in already two episodes. I actually hope they don't do this, but knowing Gainax....anything is possible. | i love the art, the show is quite good. i like the OP and the mysterious ending. But i Kinda disappointed in Dantalian anime ver, somehow she is not as cool as in the novel, its turn me off. 4/5. oh my dantalian: |

I like that kind of stuff. The episode is good. I think this is going to be one of my favorite anime this season. The OP sounds so beautiful. I like it. Dalia is so cute, changing her hairstyle like that. I still can't see how she's the same with Victorique though (except that she's a loli and a tsundere). She's not as annoying as Victorique, I actually like her. And she speaks politely. Huey is a likable character too. He's actually useful, unlike that Kujo. And Daisuke Ono NGH~ |

| Ended up being a pretty big disappointment compared to the first episode. 3/5, 6/10 Most of it was good till we got to the book part which just seemed to drag on and on. To the point of it being rather mind numbing. Really hope this isn't how every episode is going to go because if so don't know if it's worth watching. Had a lot of promise and everything else is good but not in the mood to have the episode be dragged down toward the end every time. |

| The sheer absurdity of the characters' reactions to stuff is mind boggling. Reminds me too much of Gosick. May have to drop if the silliness continues. |

| I think the music in opening is a bit out of place...it's beautiful, but I'd prefer it to be faster. I don't understand why but this episode was boring...I like the art, the music, all that mythological and mystique stuff, but still watching the series I want to sleep -__- This show lacks something...I don't know what exactly..maybe detective stories are not for me.. However I'm going to watch it till the end, because THIS IS GAINAX and I believe there will be something WTFOMGOMG at the end. |

| Liked this episode. The psycho lady was scary though. I thought Dalian was really cute in this episode, And when she changed her hairstyle in the end <3 I love the relationship between the leads. |

| Good episode but it kinda irritates me that Dalian says "yes" in english, why?? But well, nice story kinda creepy of course but not as cruelsome as I thought it would be... And the ending is still creeping me out >.< |
| Was the opening in Latin? It's pretty nice though, and it fits the atmosphere of the show very good. Funny that Huey was still standing without giving any scream or ouch for a few minutes with that knife in his stomach that was actually a book. But I still don't understand the meeting between Huey and Dalian from this anime while in the manga was clear what happened. Also the story now happening didn't happen in the manga (yet) and there was another story in place of it. It's the manga adaptation of the light novel that was weird or the anime. In the manga was an other yandere girl first and after that I don't know. I just don't understand the whole reason behind the story because of the weird order Gainax is using and it's explained so weird too. Are there more people having problems with that? It may also be because I do not speak English when I'm not on the internet, watching anime and stuff. It's just very confusing and I don't understand it, and that's very annoying since I don't understand the story because of that even though I always understand it whatever anime it is. |

| The Golem was Jewish in origin, to stop it he had to use two different magic or religious power. The first incantation was Greek? It seem to have a lot of Greek mythological references, and the second was ancient Syrian, specifically Ugaritic in origin. Wait, Huey can read Ugaritic? O_o Anyway what very long winded spell incantations, don't they have quick spells or something? LOL I still find the ED creepy. |

| It is so annoying having to sit there listening to Huey cast a 5 minute spell. Not to mention he's doing it while shit's going on around him without him getting hurt at all. At least Dalian was cute. Liked how she blushed at the end when she changed her hair. |

| 'm still learning the rules, so maybe I'm just easily surprised. But this episode was surprisingly satisfying. It didn't take me long to start fearing Ms. Lilburn. All I had to do was get a glimpse of that psycho smirk. I liked how the golem was the twisted solution, not the problem. What a sad fate. I'm actually growing a bit tired of seeing children abused in my anime. But I guess that comes naturally from a medium that features so many broken homes and orphans. Anime really turns up the sad sometimes. Dalian may be a bit too similar to Victorique in my mind right now, which means I'm apt to become openly hostile towards her. But so far I've managed to contain that. She appears rather tame for a midget tsundere.  |

| Another short battle, this time with a killer lady and a golem. Like always, the golem seem to take it's time to attack Huey. It is understandable that it was unable to attack Huey at it's 1st try due to Huey's defensive barrier but why didn't it attack during Huey reads the tablet? It's just like all these Phantom Books are plain stupid (ironically, they're books that supposed to represents knowledge). I already loved Dalian's "Yes" quote~ |

| I'm glad Dalian's tsun side focuses on words and not on physical abusing, I had enough of that for a lifetime. At least Huey put up a shield this time for reading. 4/5. |
