Wow, that was kind of intense at the end there. At least now we know why we never see any male half-spirits. That's kind of sad that they don't take on a nice form. I was kind of hoping they'd maybe introduce one... but then, there are only a few episodes left. :,(

Zakuro and Agemaki in that maze was just so cute. Zakuro was just adorable the whole episode! And now she's finally realizing her feelings for Agemaki rather than Hanadate. Oh, I just love it.

And am I the only one that finds Bonbori's and Hozuki's "Nee~?(Right)" to be off the charts cute? ^_^

Riken looks like a father figure in that image.

Was glad Agemaki finally was straight up with Zakuro. Let's hope Agemaki gets to the Oracle Village before the Lieutenant steals Zakuro's innocence. Black Widow is a psychopathic jealous bitch though, holy hell.

Great episode overall. Seemingly obvious Hanadate was evil was a good thing, since the anime doesn't have like 50 characters to guess wrong. The main thing about it is the way it has come this far, with adorable romantic moments, mysteries and longing to see more.

The maze moments were brilliant. especially when Kei held Zakuro's hand even tighter when she came up with an excuse to let go of hers.

I also wondered why half spirits are all females, and was wondering if one or two males would show up, but that answered the questions (But hey, InuYaha was good looking at least :P). Hanyuus are used as labors in that Oracle Village, which was sad to see.

Anyways, great to know Zakuro finally being able to realize that she loves Kei. I really hope Hanadate doesn't do anything that will put a scar in her life. /me want to rage kill hanadate/

As it seems, there wont be any season 2 unless they drastically change it from where they have taken the series right now. Its a shame that it wont have any BD releases either, I thought the artwork/environment were done with excellent touch. 3 more episodes and thats that.

yeah. dnw they're all females...
btw i'm really interested in Byakuroku and her "hate" toward Zakuro, which seems to be all about love and friends. she was so cute when Zakuro was giving her a bit of her power.
maybe because she has been always considered like a tool by the black widow and Hanadate/can't remember the real name lol

Well, confirmed 13 episodes, huh? 12, as probably the last one will be a recap.
The episode was really steady steady and highly predictable. There are some things that are really confusing me, but I will find out about them before the show ends...
Waiting for next chapter...

Doesn't matter how obvious it gets, but Byakuroku will turn for the good, and will probably

I can already see Rangui dead though. A spider or not, (another awfully similar thing with InuYasha, referring to Naraku), she went overboard to try to kill someone who is suppose to bear the child of her master. Is she just stupid or what? I really don't know. And consuming her will give her the power as a concept was unfortunately taken from the same anime I just mentioned. :P

Regardless of not having much originality of certain things, I still love this show and once it ends, I will look back and tell myself, it was a wonderful experience :)

yeeeeeah it's pretty obvious, also considering how she called Zakuro after she run away... but it's a good thing so doesn't matter! :P

i think her gelousy took over her, thinking about her master with someone else (that also tried to kill her) was maybe too much to handle, but utterly stupid, indeed XD

of course, it's not the most original anime i've seen but idn, i enjoyed it soooo much! *___*
and even if the direction of the story was clear for the beginning, it succeded to surprise me several times... (-> the labyrinth scene XD *overjoooyed*)

During this episode i got the feeling that Hanadate and Zakuro where related by blood the preview for the next episode seems to suggest this as well.
Now there was also a reason given for why they where targeting Zakuro and none of the others but not everything is clear.
What was the power that was sealed that Hanadate was talking about and why is he after it, why does he wants Zakuro as the mother of his child.
And how is it suppose to help him.
And why where all those half spirits treated so badly, what do the spirits and Humans fear?

Same thoughts for everyone here. Only things that are worth mentioning are:
1. J.C. Staff spent a lot of their resources into this show, despite having immensely popular Index II and Popular manga adaptation of Bakuman running at the same time:
- Artwork and Animation
- Popular Seiyuus (Voice casts)
- Three different ED themes all featuring some of the most popular female seiyuus of recent time. All of the ED are expected to have Original Single releases later in December.
2. J.C. Staff actually are a renowned production team who often make sequels to their popular shows.

Thats all the good values we can ask for. And despite not having BDs, if the DVD sells go as intended target, better if beyond their expectation, I can definitely expect an S2 for this series. Of course, the mangaka Hoshino Lily is still working on it, and she never mentioned anything like when the final volume will be out, for now the anime is set to have an Anime Only ending. I hope I am wrong.

I love how Hanadate, or should I say Ondoko, was removing his mask all slowly and revealing as if we DIDN'T ALREADY KNOW WHO HE WAS! :P

But seriously, a very good episode today. The romance moved in a great direction and the show just went up from there. I think this is going to get a high rating from me when it is over

(Well, that explains why there are no male half-spirits. *shivers*)

The drama was for Zakuro, not us. In fact she was head over heels on admiration of that prick :D

Also, its a shame that the anime scored only 7.69 despite running so many good episodes since the start of it. There are other shows that are running some boring craps now, but still are scored better for God know why.

7.69?! *checks rating* What the hell is with that? This show is way better than that rating. That's the same rating as Shinrei Tantei Yakumo, which isn't a bad show, but it's nothing compared to OYZ. Which means that a show like OreImo beats this, which is kind of unbelieveable.

Once again GORGEOUS animation, character design and visual. Top quality voice acting.

Even if the storyline is cliche, there are enough qualities for this series.

Bakuman ended low on animation budget, but the base material is good so it's ok as long as they remain faithful.

Same thing for Index, but the animation budget should be higher for the action scenes

As for Tantei Opera..... :/

Index isn't a great show that one must see. It's good, somewhat okay. Index is popular for Biribiri who recently had her own full season anime. Popularity most of the time never reflects quality. I left that show on hold at episode 6 of season one. Might pick up later, since it wasn't an absolute must see. :) (These are my opinion, please try the anime to find out yourself!)

True that. Unbelievable and unforgivable. Over the years, I have seen that some shows will never get the hype, despite being some of the best out there. Anime masterpieces anyone? Good examples are this and this, since you'll never hear many people talking about them. Otome Youkai Zakuro and Kuragehime are most likely to add to that criteria.

That scene in the maze really delivered and I was really afraid for Zakuro chained in that bed D:. As with all this series, it doesn't matter if it's all been used before, the end result is just perfectly balanced. Doesn't tease too much but doesn't cross the line either.

Sad to see it end at 13. I guess we'll have a midpoint sorta non-end. Let's pray for good dvd sales though I have to say the japanese market always seems to favor the trashiest kind of overhyped anime. well, one can always hope...

I hope Zakuro gets a second season though. It is one of the better anime this season. Much better than Ika Musume imo and that gets way more love for making the same boring and predictable jokes each episode. To be honest Zakuro's also somewhat predictable, but it's just better written and funnier.

It's a complete mystery to me as to why shows like that get second seasons. It's not bad show, but by no measure at all is it an amazing show that deserves a second season. Same goes for OreImo, which is by no means revolutionary, yet somehow immensely popular. Must be Kuroneko/Kana Hanazawa.

Another great episode. Lord Amaryoju was funny giving pocket money to Agemaki and Riken like they were little kids. Riken and Susukihotaru looked just like a family taking out their childrens for a walk. Zakuro was so funny blushing when she denied that Agemaki he's her partner. The maze scene was excellent especially the part where Agemaki holds Zakuro's hand and telling how he feels about her.
I think there isn't a person who didn't expect Hanadate/Omodaka to be the antagonist.
Good to know that Zakuro finally feels the same way as Agemaki.
I suspect that they will rush things now with only 3 episodes left.

I will be sad when this show will be over. I also hope for second season and I will surely buy this dvd.
