Ah, Natsume knows mystery when he sees it especially when it's about strange patterns.

The episode had a mysterious feel to it as Natsume undertakes a case and whether a youkai was involved or not. Not bad for the episode. Oh and I always find it funny whenever Madara gets drunk lol

An image on the rock? And multiple of it. Ishiarai, the youkai cleans the dirtied rocks. Image gone when done cleaning, though. He really met one. The youkai talks about that young youkai he made a student and is proud of. That young youkai seems to be missing.

All the youkai Natsume know helped out. So it got caught, mistaken for a youkai dirtying the rock. It got sealed and got dirtied, so it cannot be Ishiarai anymore... So the rocks at the river is by it.

Another beautiful episode. I have never been disappointed.
Though, I would love for the exorcist that did that to Azuma to slip off the edge of a cliff and break a leg.

Wonderful episode. The OP & ED are so lovely to listen to.
Great to see Hinoe, One-Eye & the Bull Youkai again. So funny when everyone hangs out in Natsume's room.

Love drunk Nyanko Sensei.
Nice to see the Dog Circle help out.
Glad Nanamaki was able to find Azuma in the end.

Stupid amateur exorcists. They need to be gobbled up, or for a change, actually taught something.

I'm loving both the OP and the ED, they fit the show perfectly. I wonder what it is that makes Nyanko-sensei freak out in the OP, though. Feels like I'm missing something.

It was interesting how Natsume didn't jump headlong into the youkai's issue in this episode, like he usually does (even Nyanko-sensei noted that). I still don't get why he was suddenly so cautious - maybe he actually learnt his lesson for once from getting turned into a child and losing his memories in the previous episode? Another interesting aspect was him thinking about the day he would leave the Fujiwaras and that town. I wonder if the plot will ever progress that far.

Great episode, though it's a shame that amateur exorcists can unwittingly cause so many problems and take away a Youkai's purpose like that. Still, at least Azama and Nanamaki got a happy ending to finish the episode with.

Such a sad story...and I love those.

I kinda miss Natsume's book though. Won't any youkai come to ask for their name?

I also missed Natsume's legendary punches. They're always hilarious!

It was nice to see the Dog's Circle again, though it was a bit surprising to see Hinoe confirming that she's also part of it. The animation during the purifying scene was majestic and a feast for the eyes. When Natsume shared the story about stonewasher with Taki and Tanuma without being forced, it gave me many strong heartwarming feelings. Looking forward to seeing Shibata again.

I appreciate them trying to show off the stone washing ritual, but shouldn't Natsume's punch be able to break the seal? Most professional exorcist has commented on his spiritual powers, and the one who put a seal on the rock is said to be a beginner..

But would his hand be okay from punching a rock? I feel like he'd have broke his hand trying that.

Anyway, lovely episode and very touching like always. I'm amazed at how consistent this series has been.

Wow! The desire to Natsume, to share what he sees and that others can not, is becoming bigger and bigger and this means a lot in terms of growth. So gentle this episode, and fantastic backgrounds in which events occur, I love them! <3

Only Natsume Yuujinchou can bring episodic stories and make you feel it like the stories has been for a long time enough to shred some tears and a warmth inside your heart, its incredible how it delivers the feels, also the Soundtrack and animation makes it even better! can't wait for next episode

The Dog's Circle sure love that title. :D I love the fact that Hinoe is also very enthusiastic about being part of it. xD
Natsume casually talking about youkai to Tanuma and Taki was such a pleasant surprise! I'm kind of getting a feeling that the day when he reveals the truth to Touko and Shigeru is not far away.

I love episodes when Natsume helps a youkai, it brings out his best traits:kindness and selflessness :)
This episode was bittersweet, but more sweet than bitter because the stonewasher and Azuma reunited and are now traveling together( even though it means they can never go back to their beautiful village, which is sad to hear).
Also, the flowers were very beautiful and the purification scene was very fantastic, especially the colors!

I'm so glad they can actually continue the show like this and the previous season without running the show dry. And about the amateur exorcists; yes they are bad but the contrast it provides is quite nice. I mean bad youkai sometimes affect people negatively and bad exorcists sometimes affect youkai negatively. It displays the dynamic between humans and youkai.

It helps that the manga is still ongoing so they have plenty of material to work with, without having to resort to making stories up themselves

And I wish there were more "fillers". I'm very picky when consuming fiction, but Natsume never disappointed me, ever. I mean, they didn't even dive to the "Meh.. It's decent" level, ever. All the episodes are just amazing. I'm absolutely amazed how high the production quality is. Yuki Midorikawa and the anime team should be granted godhood and 72 virgins and the whole thing.

I wholeheartedly agree. I can't even differentiate fillers from 'canon' materials until I've read the manga.

Nothing is wrong. I just reflected on the fact that many of us were eagerly watching the hand of the clock move, waiting for it to signal the day we finished high school so we could move away from our crappy families. So, in a post-Natsume, emotionally-heightened state, I expressed my benevolent envy towards your fond memories of your childhood nest.

Ahaha.. Yeah, actually i have the same feeling when i graduate high school and decide to went away and it feel great i waited so long to went. But, i finished my under grad and finally back to my home. The second time i decide to go, that is when i feel that maybe i cant find the same place. Thats what became an adult with responsiblity feel i think
