The reason why I hate most anime haters is because most of them want to ban anime for the wrong reasons.I like anime and there is a lot of anime that are different from most anime.I just want to protect anime from irrational people that want to ban it.like video games.there is no reason to ban them.I am fine if someone says "Nah anime is not my taste, but if they say like "Anime should be banned".That's no good because many people(even the people outside America)love anime. There is no reason to ban anime.anime is like any other media. It's okay to have opinions and like something you like. |

I have small reviews for almost ALL anime I've seen. Unlike any regular MAL page you've seen. Ever wondering what I've watched and what I think about it? Check my List out below! https://myanimelist.net/animelist/Iam_Jermaine |

Oh my god....who fucking cares. Here's what I do care about....STOP CALLING IT A "Community". I hate this fucking word SOOOO much... Do people who watch movies get called the "Movie watching community"? Do people who eat pancakes get called the "Pancake community"? I hate the word because it denotes that EVERYONE that watches anime is in the same mindset, when it clearly couldn't be further from the truth. I'm sorry folks, I know some of you WANT to be in an "Anime community".....but not me. I watch anime, I watch movies, and I eat pancakes....I'm NOT in any "community"....I just do things. |

I take a different route, you see most so called anime haters, are just ignorant, so I just simply explain why anime came to being, and then I explain the genre structure to them(which is very easy to do, since It's almost identicle to the US's Movie, and live action series industry. The most common mistake people make, is they assume anime is handled like the US's Cartoon industry. I've had a lot of success dealing with such people by using this method, infact I can't even recall ever getting inot a argument, after such, infact most people I seem to find such very interesting. Using facts, is almost always a good way to shut down haters, especially if you explain such facts in a easy to understand way. |

The thing about the "Anime Community" is that anime is too broad to have such an umbrella term. There are so many different anime fans. Think about it like religion.....I know that sounds weird but hear me out... You can't say there is a "Christian Community" because Christianity is actually segregated into a LOT of smaller groups or "denominations". A Catholic would sure as hell not want a Protestant to be part of his "community". And BTW....I'm not saying all of this because I don't want a certain type of anime fan to be in my group or whatever. I just don't like that word and what it denotes. |

I would be fine if anime haters just simply stated their dislike towards anime and then left the anime fans alone. Sadly, that isn't the case. Some people feel the need to make negative remarks about what people like to watch for enjoyment. |

Think of it this way....some people don't like the type of anime fan I am. After all, I like ecchi, I like a lot of female anime characters and a lot of the times I don't care too much for the story, as long as I'm entertained... Other people watch anime strictly for the story and don't care about the characters too much, they also refuse to watch ecchi because it doesn't suit their tastes. Then there's anime fans who only watch a certain type of genre like action or romance or comedy, etc... Then we have the "Casuals" "Elitists" and so on... I'm cool with that....like I said, there's a ton of different anime fans on here. |

However I would compare the anime community with the gaming community since both largely developed online where geography doesn't really count. The thing is that you are part of MAL community but at the same time MAL is not isolated, it influences reddit and other anime related forums. There's no real unity but thanks to how easy is to communicate online these virtual communities are born. Moreover there's also this "us against them" mentality of anime fans vs non anime fans or anime haters that helped form this sense of community since anime is not yet a "normal" activity commonly recognized and accepted. Everyone watches films and if someone is really into it people can understand it better than who is into anime since watching anime is "strange", "different" or "unknown". |

Oh no the anime culture is being hated on? Much disgust such sad very wow. Sarcasm aside, it's really not something to get worked up about, even if they're trying to shove an opinion down your throat. It's merely an opinion you strongly disagree with. |

The video mentions the "Anime community" about 10 fucking times and how the "Anime community" is this and that and how the "anime community" suffers when certain people do things. It's beyond absurd and the very reason why there is NO SUCH THING as the "Anime community". There are people who watch anime....these people or "fans" have a diverse range of tastes and feelings about anime. To group ALL of them together is too much. Think about people who actively watch TV shows....would you group EVERYONE that watches TV shows together knowing how different they all really are? MAYBE you can have a specific community with a specific show. So you can have the "Game of Thrones community" or the "Breaking Bad community". But to say there is a "TV show community" seems weird to me....just like the "Anime community" seems weird to me. |

I'm confused by this thread. So you start off by saying that it's okay to dislike anime. Then your post is about people who dislike anime want to ban anime. If you like something, you would not think it's okay for someone who dislikes it tries to get it banned. Your title is saying one thing and your post is contradicting your title. Also what kind of anime haters are you hanging out with? The majority off people I know don't like anime so they simply don't watch it. They sure as heck don't go out of their way to ban something they don't have to watch. But then again everyone's different. |

Couldn't agree more, I had childhood friends literally walk out on having anything to do with me because our fucking taste in anime differed a little bit! Anime cannot be put into one categorization. There are various types of anime fan's within the world. I guess the only way to adopt the word "Community" regarding anime fandom would be to be that type of fan that has no real preference when it comes to anime and can literally watch/read anything, and has a general respect for all types of anime and its fan-base behind it. |
