So Five was the only one to have survived that experiment, while Nine and Twelve managed to escape. And also, Aoki tells Shibazaki and Hamura that the mastermind behind "Athena Project" was Dr. Shunzo Mamiya, the politician who was the reason behind Shibazaki's demotion. Woah.

It's so hard for Twelve (I praise him for being calm towards Lisa while trying to remove the bomb) to choose between saving Lisa's life or not betraying Nine.

As expected, he chose to tell Five about the prototype's location.

I love this part:

Poor Nine was betrayed by Twelve.

The ferris wheel scene is probably my favorite scene in the show, it was so beautiful. I was sort of expecting Lisa and Twelve to die together, though.

Five is the worst.

That Ferris wheel scene was really beautiful and sad and I loved that inserted ost which is one of my favorites from the anime soundtrack. I almost cried watching it and seeing how twelve really cares for Lisa was sad, too.

I'd rather have Twelve not betray Nine, but seems like there's still a hope for all of them.

This episode was excellent. 5/5

The moment it was realized they stole an ATOMIC bomb completely changed my view of the MCs. Capture that punk, yo!!!

Is Five dead?

One of the better episodes.
Twelve and Lisa are still alive after he told Five where the atomic bomb was.

After a tedious and drawn-out second act things are finally heating up in act 3. I was hovering around a 6 but if this can keep it up in the last two episodes I might be wavered to a 7.

The mood in the ferris wheel cabin felt so palpable, so many unsaid things. The night-time scenes are as ever evocative and sumptuously drawn, can't take that away from this show.

Dammit, Twelve. You should've just let that useless, annoying person go boom.

I'm sure the anime would be better off without her, after all, what has she ever done other than put those guys in trouble.

That ferriswheel scene with 12 trying to save Lisa was romantic. Especially the part where he tells Lisa not to apologize anymore. I knew she would ask him to run away.

The plots still a bit confusing to me at this point. Why the fuck do they have an atomic bomb?

Now that was a good episode, tense and great OST usage in the background. Nice visuals too. I like how even though 12 gave up the bomb location, 9 was still able to predict he would and get it back in time. I want 5 to lose. All three of them (5, 9, and 12) must be going to die soon though because of whatever the side effects of the drug were.

Shibazaki and Homura learning about Athena was also an interesting scene, though hopefully they don't both die like the old guy implied would happen if they learned about it.

i think lisa represents the lives of the 'dumb' people around them and how 9 and 12 have neglected nurturing them by not leaving their traumatic past behind and instead focusing on it

Lisa is a useless bimbo, 12 is a fucking traitor and 5 is a psycho bitch - I hope 9 completes his plan and the cops expose the truth.

I'm especially disappointed with 9; so they captured Lisa and used her to set up a trap, what are they gonna do if no one turns up, execute her? If they do that they'll be harming themselves in the process - pretty stupid move for someone who's supposed to be a genius.

And finally the pieces of the backstory are in place and Shibazaki's story comes full circle. I should have saw that coming, but still that was a good twist.

I liked 9 and Risa's scene on the Ferris wheel, and the old guy's confession. Well done. Viewed in vacuum, I'd even say this episode was good all around. I don't like that there were no consequences for 12's actions, though the following episodes may deliver on that yet.

I also don't see what the overall statement of this show could be. "Don't experiment on children"? Or "science is bad"?

Why did 12 not put Five on speaker and continue dismantling the bomb? Even if it would have been impossible to finish it before it went off, it felt a bit odd that he just dropped what he was doing as soon as the phone rang. It would have been cool if he had kept working with gritted teeth and if he had only stopped working when Five said something that really got under his skin. I guess he is the more hot blooded of the duo, so maybe this way was more natural for him to act, but still, it could have been cool.

This was the masterpiece episode of the show so far. It was brilliantly directed, the music, editing, camera angles, tension and emotion, just perfection.

I do have a question though... why wouldn't Twelve just lie about the location of the bomb? They believe him and stopped the detonation timer. Buy yourself some time and just make something up! By the time they realize you duped them, you might be able to disarm the bombs.

Man, this anime is awesome in a lot of ways but its biggest downfall is that its only 11 episodes. It really needed a few more to flesh out the relationships, especially the one between twelve and Lisa, and backstories, particularly those that surround the Athena program.

It went from a totally unearned attempt at sentiment between Twelve and Lisa in the Ferris wheel to Twelve betraying his only ally for a girl he hardly knows.

This has left me feeling super annoyed with Twelve and Lisa who only seem to like one another because nobody else has ever been averagely nice to them before.

And all I can say is well done, it is nice to care about the characters in an anime. Even if you hate them and find them immature.

Plus I hate the police already, so I am starting to feel really invested.

While I enjoyed the first half and the music of the ferris wheel scene quite a lot, the sour taste of risking the main mission for this girl still sits with me and left me leaving unmoved by any emotion that scene was supposed to provide. (and kinda surprised at the amount of people able to brush it off)

omg

Everything besides Shibazaki's investigation is a joke

Episode 8:
Any scene with Lisa --> eyeroll

Episode 9:
Any scene without Shibazaki --> total cringe

The whole ferris wheel thing was just ugh
The melodramatic convo with only 2min left to deactivate the bombs
Lisa telling to "Just Go!" when they re on the top of the ride
Like wtf?
The only way out is down
You re telling him to just commit suicide a few minutes earlier?

Absolutely meaningless

If the bomb had exploded anyway I might have given it a 2/10

Just when I thought this show is gonna redeem itself.
Don't quite understand 12 betraying 9 if he knows he's dying anyway. Does he really think any of them will make it out alive somehow?
Lisa is an accomplice and knows too much, she will be silenced along with Shibazaki. The only hope is the info goes public before it happens, but even then there is no guarantee.
