| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Well, this episode was nothing short of awesome. Concerning Gyuuki's flashback, the director managed to make Gyuuki's past more interesting then its manga counterpart (where it felt a bit rushed). We also got some badass Nurarihyon and Setsura (Tsurara's mom) freezing half of the forrest. Next episode will finish the arc (which I thought would have been finished this ep). Hopefully, this will make the arc after that just one episode long and then we can finally leave the "Kiyo Cross Squad Saga" and enter the "Tamanazuki Saga" and watch some more exciting arcs :D |

| Yep, boring ;( Too much Umewakamaru and as I recall correctly, they added much plot, compared to the original. I was expecting some action and conclusion to this arc, but we must be more patient. Well, after consideration, it's not really bad idea. it's gonna be an important moment for Rikuo. Oh, and I couldn't really say that I liked the background music. Not this time. |

| Well I'm glad to know more about Gyuki's past, but did they really have to explain all of it during the middle of the fight? Geez. It was my understanding that the Nurarihyon in the flashback was the grandfather. And yes, I imagine their hair is like that because of their heads. |

Was that Tsurara's mom in this flashback? Yep, that was her mom Setsura. Well damn, what did Nurarihyon say to Gyuki that he will never forget? Don't just leave us hanging like that!!! You will find out in next episode. He said something really touching. is it me or this anime's pace is to slow The story is slow, tough the anime rushed through the story before the Gyuuki arc. It will pick up soon (we still have one more episode of Gyuuki arc and another episode or two that focuses on everyone's favorite character: Kana (after which she becomes a secondary character)... and then the good stuff comes). I though that was Tsurara Grandmother. The databook confirmed that it was her mother. |

It was said somewhere (don't remember where) that Nurarihyon had once normal head and it became longer and longer when he started losing his hair. So I think it's safe to say that Rikuo's head doesn't change its shape when he transforms. |

| The transition from the fight to the flashback was done rather poorly. And I'd rather that Gyuki wasn't the one narrating. Other than that, great episode. His past was done pretty well. Lots of details added and modified which made it a bit better compared to the manga. Cliffhanger wasn't what I expected but it could have been worse so I'll settle for that. Next episode may conclude this arc now. I'd like to see how they'll change the fight, it was kinda boring in the manga. Then we go to the next arc, and there is where it really picks up. Right after a mini arc/ episode it seems :|. I'm happy that I saw Grandpa Nurarihyon in his younger days as well as Tsurara's grandmother mother(it's not grandmother it seems), Setsura. But I'm kinda sad that this won't cover the Spirit Blade arc and beyond. He was really badass there, not that he wasn't here as well. Gonna reread the parts which won't be covered as well as the ones which will be in the next episodes for a refresher. |

I still did not get what Gyuki is exactly....yokai/human, yokai, random monster? First Gyuuki (the one killed by present Gyuuki) was a normal yokai. Present Gyuuki was a human who lost (abandoned) his humanity and became a yokai. |

| I think this might take the cake as the most boring episode this season for me. I can't confirm that. It wasn't bad in background development but i WANT Gyuki to die so i had no sympathy for his horrible past. Despite saying that i still look forward for something good in future episodes. |

| I for one liked this episode. Sure, the placement of Gyuuki's flashback was a little...odd("hey, while we're fighting, let's take a look at my past!"), but it was obviously put in for a reason. After all, the story continues in the next episode. We still need to find out what Nurarihyon told him and what kind of effect this will have on Rikuo too. And I wonder what happened to Tsurara's mom... |
