| My friend who at the time was really into Demon Slayer took me to watch one of the Demon Slayer movies at our local cinema. The experience was exactly like watching a regular movie at the cinema with the only exception being that the subitles were in our native language (Greek) and not in English. I watch anime with English subs so it took me a moment to get used to it but it wasn't anything dramatic. The atmosphere of a cinema definitely enhances the experience and makes it a little bit more fun, plus it feels nice to be at a place where other fans are as well. I wish more anime movies were played in cinemas here. |

You best believe that experience had me like this:  Y'know, I don't know exactly why, but I kind of find the cinema quite overstimulating or something because I lowkey need to close my eyes every so often because it's just too much happening on too big a screen. I might be odd for this, but I much prefer laptop, I guess.  |

I already was watching multiple anime movies in a cinema and it's a better experience in my opinion. Not only watching it with fans, but also seeing everything on a bigger screen with a better audio system is a big advantage. Furthermore, you'll be able to focus more on the movie itself, because you will not take out your phone to check out something during the time you're watching the movie. In around 2 weeks, I'm going to watch the first part of the Demon Slayer trilogy and I already was watching Demon Slayer in a movie, which was incredible to look at. |
| I watched Promare at a cinema. The bigger screen and better sound significantly enhanced the experience, rewatching it at home didn't feel the same. |
| I’ve seen several anime in theaters the past 7 years (might be forgetting some) all My Hero Academia movies Demon Slayer: Mugen Train Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Konosuba: Legend of Crimson Reincarnated as a Slime: Scarlet Bond Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out / Knapsack Kid Macross F (both compilation films) Promare Interstella 5555 Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom Dandadan (early premieres of both seasons) Spirited Away Castle in the Sky Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind Princess Mononoke When Marnie Was There A lot of times I feel like the bigger screen did make it more impactful. And in cases like Konosuba & Dandadan it was fun when you weren’t the only one laughing at the jokes. |

| Twice. I saw the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie when it first aired in theaters and i saw Yugioh: The Movie when i was maybe 6 or 7. It's an experience and a half, honestly. Especially the yugioh movie. They literally ran out of the promo cards you get with the ticket and i couldn't get one :( It was also the most full a theater i've ever been in. People were in the back row, like it was almost a fire hazard! |

| A handful of times. I may be forgetting something, but I know I saw the movies for Kaguya-sama, Violet Evergarden, Takagi-san, and Spy x Family, plus the Boy and the Heron and Spirited Away. I don't know if it was better, but it was a fun and unique experience. Violet Evergarden was toward the end of Covid, so they were still selling only every-other seat, but it was sold out, so it was still a pretty packed theater. Hearing the reactions of everyone else to what was happening was a little distracting, but it added to the fun, especially during big moments. For the others, I waited until they were near the end of their runs, so I had emptier theaters. In the case of Spy x Family, I saw it on one of the very last days, so it was just us and two other people. It felt like a private theater, which was cool, and seeing especially the action scenes on the big screen was really great. I saw Spirited Away when it first came out in the early 00s, so it was a very different experience from the others. It was in a tiny local place, and the screen wasn't much bigger than a bedroom wall in a house. I saw the one and only screening they had, and it was dubbed, but that was way before anime movies in theaters was normal here, so I felt lucky to even have that option. The US fan community was much smaller and overall less casual compared to what it is today, so the only people there were either super fans, or people who were into cinema in general (since an anime movie that wasn't Pokemon being in any theater was a novelty back then, and the few that did happen were usually only in bigger cities). It was cool to be around so many passionate people. I remember everyone talking excitedly as they walked out. |

| I saw one of the Heaven's Feel movies in theater. The last one was planned to come out just before our betters decided to lock down the world. It was definitely a good experience. I would probably be interested in more anime as movies, really not interested anymore in slogging through 13 episodes of bland seasonal crap anymore, it's just not worth my time. |
| Just watched the new Demon slayer infinity castle movie last month. It was the best anime experience I had. The visuals and audio were amazing and something that can never be replicated in my room on a laptop or even a TV. |

| I've been to kotonoha no niwa, jujutsu 0 and spy family. It's cool and all but watching anime at home is better. A big downside are the cinema subs because it's in romanian and probably translated by an imbecile, anyways, horrendous subs in cinema whereas english subs for tv anime are good. |

For the first 4 Pokemon movies, Final Fantasy: Spirit Within, the Saint Seiya Legend of Sanctuary. It was nice because of the shake in the belly that the subwoofer sound gives. FFSW and SSLS were a feast for the eyes, so many details and light effects.  For SSLS, I liked the after watching experience too, talking with a couple of girls that were watching it together at the session exit. There was also a kid somewhere in the session that was overreacting to each scene, really heartwarming. |

I feel more hyped, I get more chills, getting more emotional is debatable as I'm always a crier, but I know that whenever I watch something in a cinema my scores are probably a little inflated by at least 1 haha Actually this month I plan to watch Kimetsu no Yaiba movie in the cinema so I'm hyped!! | Yes, but not very often. Definitely a better experience, especially for big, bombastic crowd-pleasers. Even before I started watching anime I've always enjoyed the "movie theater experience." Big screen, big sound, that "attending a special event" feeling, and no waiting for the streaming or blu-ray release. But the main problem is availability; I don't get many anime movies in theaters where I live. Even when I do, they usually only play for a few days. And they're not really advertised, so I have to keep my eyes open or I'd miss them. I've only recently learned that theater quality and audience manners vary greatly, even from city to city. I think it also depends on the movie; if I saw Minecraft in theaters, I probably would've seen some annoying teenagers. I will only say that where I live people tend to keep quiet and keep it clean, which is why I'm more positive about the experience. I'll probably go see Demon Slayer once it opens next week. |

| I've seen a few in theaters (Pokémon M20 I Choose You, one of the Digimon Adventure Tri films, and DBZ Battle of Gods) and its really not a comparable experience to watching at home. The bigger scale and the higher quality audio setup just makes it feel a lot more premium and it really can't compare. There's also just some movies that have REALLY BAD official home releases in some cases such as the DBS movies (Broly and Super Hero) which have incorrectly converted color profiles that give the home media releases the Yakuza Kiwami 2 green filter, which means you objectively got a better experience watching those in theaters compared to at home where you are watching a compromised version |

| So far I've been to a single one - Jujutsu Kaisen 0, the theather wasn't ready for Japanese style of voicing with that high volume screams etc. Perhaps I'll also go for Demon Slayer movie but for that I am yet uncertain. The visuals were slightly better to experience even if it's not changed in reality, so I guess the size of the viewing monitor has some affects into it. |
| Quite a handful of times yes! Most recently was Akira, which I've actually seen in the cinema a few times now, it's definitely the way to experience it. Other than that I went to see Your Name back in 2016 and a bunch of older and weirder anime at local cinematheques, I really enjoy supporting the industry like that. Recently there's been a lot more regular cinemas showing anime movies, new and old, so I couldn't be more satisfied. |

| In theaters I saw Dragon Ball The Movie (which combined the 12th and 13th), Princess Mononoke, Fate stay/night Heaven's Fell 3, Dragon Ball Super Broly, The First Slam Dunk and Gundam Seed Freedom. The experience is nothing like the one you get at home like a live-action movie. |

| The most recent film I saw at the cinema was this Sunday and that was Colorful Stage the movie a Miku who can't sing. I have also watched most the Ghibli films at the prince charles cinema in London. When I was a kid I saw the Pokemon, Digimon and Yu-gi-oh films. Though I am fairly certain bonds between time was never theatrically released in the UK which is a shame. I also went to see Final Fantasy advent children on the big screen with some friends who are really into final fantasy. Other highlights would be the Lupin the Third movies I have seen which are castle of Cagliostro and Lupin the third the first. I also have had opportunities to attend UK premieres for some films. In 2010 I attended Sci-Fi London and got to see the first screenings for Redline which has to be the best possible way to watch such a visceral film. Then in 2021 I watched Belle in the BFI and didn't even realise until the end it was a premiere while the entire audience was clapping, I was even asked what website I was with when leaving the cinema as they must of believed I was a critic like them. End of Evangelion was also a really good experience and some people even left the cinema during the fake out credits role half way through the film which I thought was quite amusing. Other films I have seen at the cinema but wouldn't consider essential viewing on the big screen include Pompo the cinephile, Violet evergarden movie, Liz and the BlueBird and night is short, walk on girl. Though most those films have some incredible animation. I am hoping that angels egg will get a UK release in the near future. I have seen that it is being released in US cinemas at some point in the future and would really like to watch a film like that on the big screen as it enhances the experience. |
| I've watched a few anime movies in cinema and I really loved the experience every time it's even better when you're alone. Just recently I watched wolf children in cinema and watching that on a big screen is a complete different experience compared to a laptop or pc or phone I feel like I'm more immersed and don't have to worry about notifications popping up and distractions. Now every time I see an anime pop up on vue app I'm quick to book my seat. I've already booked my ticket to see the new demon slayer movie and I know it's gonna be amazing 🤩 also the cinema I go to has recliner seats so 10/10 experience |

| Yep, I’ve seen a few anime movies in-person: The first three Pokémon movies – I saw them back when I was a very young kid. I don’t remember the experience very vividly, but I do remember seeing the movie posters outside and getting the movie promo cards from the box office clerks. Very fun times. SAO: Ordinal Scale – I saw this in theaters many years ago, and the people watching seemed really into it. There was this one Kirito and Asuna scene two-thirds into the movie where people in theaters were cheering loudly and laughing. The Boy and the Heron – this was the latest anime movie that I saw in theaters. I give it a 7.5/10. Is watching anime movies in theaters a better experience than watching at home? Yeah, I would say so. But, at the same time, watching at home is when I can evaluate the anime movie better since I can rewind if I ever miss something. I can also pause the movie whenever I want to. |
| I've Seen These: ...in a theater. Theaters are great and a better experience over a TV or computer screen. Nothing much (that isn't a popular franchise movie or a Ghibli Film) ever comes out around here though and it's like one screening on a single day which makes it difficult to make time to see. There are a lot of films that I liked which I would have loved to see on the big screen. |

They did have a commercial for that Kimetsu no Yaiba movie (Infinity Castle I think) and the commercial looked kinda cool though. We don't really get a whole lot of anime stuff in Kentucky in general. |

| Oh, yeah last time was a couple summers ago. I went to see the re-release of Miyazaki-san's Princess Mononoke for the first timein a theater. Now I've seen it a billion times on TVs or computers, but nothing compared to the majesty of seeing it on the silver screen, with a high end sound system to match. I've seen some others that were originally theater releases in Japan. There's just no way you can get the same experience at home as you can in a theater. It's like going to see Bambi. Would you rather see it as Walt originally intended, or shoehorned into your punk home theater system? On the flip side, I'd have to say movies made of original TV productions don't fit that bill. They were never designed, usually, to take full advantage of the theater setting. Case in point, I took my goddaughter and her brother to go see that Pokemon movie with Mew 2. The kids were all bonkers over it, but I couldn't help but think "Should have just waited for it to release on cable." It was like watching an extra long episode on an ultra wide screen TV. |
| I always go to my local cinema when it's showing an anime movie I'm interested in. While the sound is amazing, the large screen makes the movie blurry most of the time. They really need to render anime movies in higher definition to bring out the details to life on the big screen. |

| A few times. My most memorable experience was when me and a huge group of friends went to see Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero back in 2022. We were all screaming and raving almost every moment in the movie, especially when Bulma asked for a bigger butt. I still remember that night to this day, such fun times. So, depending on who you see the movie with, it can be way more memorable than watching it at home. |

| I used to go to the cinema to watch anime movies, though not very often, and usually by myself. These days I can't travel far, so I prefer watching on my laptop. It’s more comfortable since I can pause anytime, and I don't have to deal with distractions in the cinema, like noisy children, people filming, or others talking during the movie. Still, there are some nice things about cinema, such as being able to watch movies before they're released on streaming platforms and enjoying the cool atmosphere. |

Also some others over the years. ngl I don't really like going to cinemas as the experience is mid but it's fun to see an anime movie if it's something I'm interested in. | no, but I stopped going to the cinema altogether anyway. first off, the nearest theater that doesn't suck is like a 40min drive away or 2h by train/bus. and the experience itself just isn't worth the money. not being able to pause or stop any time you want, having to share the space with strangers, having someone next to you munch popcorn in your ear or commentate on what's happening on screen... and I have never been in a theater where the sound wasn't ass - always too bassy and boomy to the point where it's distracting. all of that for the price of a Bluray? no thanks. never again. the only movie that I'm glad I watched in theaters was Revenge of the Sith, and really only because of that opening scene with the space battle. it looked amazing on the big screen. everything since had been a waste of time and money. |

| I went recently to watch both Spirited Away and Akira. It depends really, whether you are going alone or with friends/girlfriend/family. For example, Spirited Away had a bunch of families but the vibe was also a different one because it was an open-air cinema. If you lifted your head ever slighty, you could see the stars. Akira? It was quiet as hell compared to the cheerful atmosphere in Spirited Away but again different people were attending, no families and the tone of these two movies are also completely different. I did enjoy both, though rewatching Spirited Away on a bigger screen was such a delight. I also plan on watching all the Demon Slayer movies once they air over here. |

Ultimately, though, I feel more comfortable at home and I wouldn't go every week unless it's some big release I want to see (sadly, since I don't live in a big city anymore, I probably won't be able to see Chainsaw man movie in theatres) |

I think it'll be comparable to another movie experience, where I don't really notice that big of a difference in the quality. However, I do think it will be nice to watch it in a room with other anime friends, as compared to being alone usually when I watch on my tablet or TV. |
