For example, in the past, when Yusuga no Sora was one of my favorite titles, any heated and drawn-out discussion about anime genres and trends would result in someone trying to generalize all my tastes down to the content of that show. Even saying that I supposedly only watch anime for that show, which I always found odd since it was the only ecchi and borderline title on my page. |

Do you think you can tell something about someone based on their favorite anime or characters If someone enjoyed watching Roshidere because of the sister it means they are a fan of YnS and have no problems watching incest anime at all. I prefer to stay away from such shows because incest grosses me out. And what do your favorite shows and characters already say about you? My taste for romance leans towards comfort and emotions, and there's a few of my favorite characters who have a sweet/caring personality that I really love (e.g Mahiru). |

For example, if someone has exclusively (all 10) characters of the opposite sex as their favourites, they might be a bit of a simp (nothing wrong with that, no offense intended). But it's a very superficial assessment ofcourse, nothing concrete. And what do your favorite shows and characters already say about you? My favourites don't really have any specific pattern, they're all over the place, but my favourite shows are from multiple favourite genres of mine, so maybe someone can get a very rough idea about my taste from seeing them. |

| I think you definitely can. If someone's favorite characters all fit into a certain trope or archetype, that can tell you something about what that person values or what traits that person likes in others. |

| I think it can to a certain degree,but i'd be cautious with that kinda "observation" and not turn jt into in depth personality analysis judging someone based on their favorites and trust me it can go far if you're talking to that kinda person.As for what my favorites tell about me,that's interesting,i'd say they tell you i enjoy peaceful and vibrant setting and that i'm more on the optimistic side rather than someone who might have Lain or those kinds of shows in his favorites |
