It seems Mako truly enjoys hanging out with her friends and making memories with them. Good for her. And it's interesting to see some additional characters join in the fun.

The house they stayed in is old but they made the best of it and still enjoyed simple but tasty food.

Ugh these girls just brighten my mood every Saturday. This is legit one of PA works best ever works. I really hope they do a continuation in manga form or something like they did for Sakura quest.

Poor Kurea had to drive all the way.. Shinon know she need to learn how to drive on the freeway lol.

Awesome episode to wind down the season with and a nice way to connect Mako’s past to her present. Her big issue has always been feeling like she missed out on memories in middle school and high school so linking back up with Yuna and Hiyori kinda feels full circle. I totally understand how nervous she was because it was a week ago today that I had my 10th year hs reunion and only a few of us showed up, but it was still kinda nerve wrecking lol.

Lmao at Nana and Tsutsuji trying to make an Irori hearth fire while Mako was out with Shinon and her old friends. I would’ve given up and gone to McDonald’s or some shit as well. Lost it when Mako came back and just used a blowtorch instead of the complicated method Nana was doing 😂 that hotpot came out soo good, fuck now I’m hungry as hell. It’s a bit cool out too so hot pot might be a good idea tonight 🤔

Very sweet episode. Love seeing Mako make memories with the girls. Who cares if you didn’t have em in high school, you got em now and that’s all that matters

Great episode.

This episode was mostly focused on remembering memories, I really liked that. Mostly because memories are important and it just makes you happy reminiscing them from time to time. If Nana had helped Tsutsuji with getting the blowtorch, it would've been ten times more easier to get that fire started. Hiyori and Yuna are really good friends it seems and honestly, I would like more friends like that.

So Mako and Shinon's hometown is Ine. That's about 7 hours driving from Takao. No wonder why Kurea was so worn out.

Damn, each episode is just that awesome.
I laughed and smiled non-stop watching this episode.
So wholesome and fluffy. This anime and Mono always brighten my Saturdays. Double peak. 🙏🏾🐐
First photo: After all that prep, it was all for boiled water. I just love how Tsutsuji and Nana think at times. 😂😂😂😂😂😭😭😭
Second photo: The look on their faces after wasting time with the flint. 😭😭😭😭🙏🏾
Third one: Good photo of all of them after having fun and eating some delicious food.

5/5 episode as expected. 👌🏾❤️

This week, Mako and Shinon get to bring the rest of the girls to their hometown.
There is some pretty sweet and nostalgic moments for Mako who realises how much she's enjoying her current life with her friends.
Also loved Nana and Tsutsuji working so hard on that fire just to obtain... some boiled water haha.
And, as always, the girls meal looked fantastic and delicious!

It was truly a lovely episode where we got to learn more about Mako and Shinon’s past and where they grew up. Seeing traditional Japanese food along with the explanation of how the *irori* (sunken hearth) was used was genuinely enjoyable. In Arab culture—especially in Saudi Arabia—we still use a fire pit in modern homes, by the way, though not really for cooking. It's mainly used for heating or making traditional red Arabic tea.

As for the episode, it was genuinely beautiful. I wished we could've spent more time with Mako’s mother and grandmother—and even her father, who was at work. I also hoped Mokotarou would appear, even briefly, since Mako was featured on the show.

Korea really cracked me up—passing out from a car ride?! I know people who travel like that every day and don’t get tired… In my opinion, it was a bit exaggerated! I do that constantly without any issue, haha. Also, Mako made me laugh so much—she didn’t leave a single secret about Shinon; she spilled everything to her friends! But it’s nice since she’s genuinely making good memories.

I loved this episode and I’m looking forward to episode 11. See you next week in the comments!

Homecoming huh. Poor Kurea being the girls go to driver that works OT when freeways are involved. Mako's family home must be pretty old. Lol their friends having the same low opinion of Shinon as well. The meal at the house though sure combined well with its setting. In the end im glad that Mako and Shinon's trip home was a valuble exp for them that turned out so well.

She just missed the little torch. Would have been so much easier than the flint. Seriously, though. The house has a fridge. It should have a microwave too. A lot of trouble to make some instant noodles. ROFLOL

Cookout Saturdays: Girls cooking food using irori cooking firepit. History of irori dating back to 1600. I was a bit surprised to see Mako's childhood friends show up this episode, I'd figured they were just flashback fodder and wouldn't show up in the present day scenes, still it was nice to see them. When Tsutsuji and Nana were trying to light that fire, I was worried that they'd end up burning down the house. It was an unneccessary worry I know, given the genre of the show but it was one I couldn't shake for some reason.

Kurea's expression while driving had me laughing out loud. I do feel bad for her, considering that she more or less drove the entire journey from the university town to the quiet and tranquil town that Mako's family lives in since Shinon is still scared of freeway driving. The least that Kurea deserved was a comfy midday nap to rest up.

Because of that,we got to see Nano and Tsutsuji's attempt to start up the irori the traditional way. While their overall efforts weren't as successful as they hoped, this was still valuable experience for them both. It helps you respect the older generation and how much more effort was needed to use the essentials that we take for granted today.

While that was happening, Mako and Shinon went down memory lane by meeting up with their grade school friends, Yuna and Hiyori. Their segment was pretty heartwarming as a whole, where I can't blame Mako for being nervous about it, but thankfully she had nothing to worry about as Yuna and Hiyori are super nice and the four of them had fun revisiting the old places they used to visit, including their old elementary school. It's always nice to reminisce old memories like this every now and then. =)

The hot pot that Mako helped cook up looked really delicious. Simply looking at it is enough to warm me up in excitement and comfort and it went down a treat. This was another opportunity for Mako to take a picture of this, along with the others that she's taken so far, as something to cherish and to reminisce in the future.

Once again, this series has been a joy to watch. I'm sad that there's only two episodes left, but I'm sure it'll end on a strong note.

A trip to Makocchi's hometown and meet some old friends. Glad that Kurea's the driver.

It's rare for teenagers to be able to cook with traditional cooking tools, sasuga Makocchi (and Kurea)

And the food is definitely special because it's made using traditional cooking methods.

A trip to Makochi and Shinon's hometown! Met up with some childhood friends and reminisced about the past.
Wish the trip does not just end here but sadly they're just here for a bit, and it's not like Makochi and Shinon has anything else to share, would have been fun to spend a little bit more time with their family and friends with this group tho.

Still, what a really nice and well-kept traditional house! I would want to spend a day or two with that kind sometime.
Nana and Tsutsuji together is just PEAK comedy lol, what do you mean they went all the trouble of starting fire just to boil water hahaha, well at least Nana got her fulfillment of trying out new things, she was extremely excited about it afterall

Hot Rice and a Hot Pot in a traditional house, I could just imagine the bliss.

Don't drive while tired... Even Kurea is pushing her "responsible" trait.

Feels odd to see a car used this much in anime. Normally it'd be trains or buses. I guess being university age opens this option up. I recall Bakuon said it was about motorcycles because high schoolers couldn't drive anything heavier.

I don't know how you can cook over that irori without filling the house with smoke.
Also don't know how they manage the carbon dioxide from the thing they're using for overnight heating.

Mako got to talk a lot about Shinon... At Shinon's expense.

The gas torch... Can I call that, Chekov's gas torch?

It's nice when anime does this sort of thing. Like, in Yoru no Kurage wa Oyogenai, there was a character early on who seemed like she could have been just a background character, but reappeared later as a side character for one episode.

Poor Kurea being stuck driving everyone that far.

Nana and Tsutsuji seemed to kind of enjoy their miserable experience with starting the fire.

Shinon getting exposed by Mako. Nice that Makocchi got to feel more connected to friends.

No, I'm not perfect, but I hope you see my worth
'Cause it's only you, nobody new, I put you first
And for you, girl, I swear I'll do the worst

If you stay forever, let me hold your hand
I can fill those places in your heart no else can
Let me show you love, oh, I don't pretend, yeah

With exams over, Mako already making plans to head home, and everyone does so complimenting her, though Shinon wants to see their old friends?

Kurea getting quite the tiredness driving to Mako's hometown since early morning (suffering from Shinon still not being apt on the highway), and it shows of the latter's origins when it comes to her cooking. Mako's traditional home looks great with all of the stuff used for tradition, and both Tsustuji and Nana attempting to make lunch for Kurea (plus learn how to cook food the traditional way), it proves harder than most for an irori hearth fire, but the girls did it...by boiling water for her lol.

On the other side, Mako and Shinon meeting their old friends of Hiyori and Yuna, they've all grown up to do a lot of catching up with one another. Though Shinon is the one with a lot more of the interesting stories and memories, Mako does all of the dinner prep work on the irori, and even the preservation of the Club's memories too.

Captured memories, no matter what stage of life, will be moments in future to savour.
