The phrase is so well known that it transcends the boundaries of baseball and sports, as he is the first person Japanese people associate with baseball players. There are also several anime in which he himself appears under his own name, such as «Kyojin no Hoshi» and «Samurai Giants.»
NAGASHIMA passed away just last week at the age of 89. This phrase, which reminds us of him, has once again hit the media and jumped to the rankings of net trends.
As an athlete, NAGASHIMA was first-rate, always cheerful, and exceptionally charismatic, but his personality had a kind of ‘ditzy blonde’ quality that is typical of some people of genius. There is no end to the strange things he has said and done and episodes he has had to deal with.
