MC's so cool even the demons he slaughters fall for him...

So-so episode. Anticipated fight against Baran felt rushed and confusing, to the point I couldn't really tell what the hell was happening during half of it.
And dear Lord in heaven, can they just stop it with the constant jumps to other events? Seriously, what a way to ruin the flow of fights and the hype surrounding them smh.

Jinwoo finally reaches the final floor and faces the final boss Baran. On the way, he befriends a female demon Esil who surrenders and treats him well. She even gives Jinwoo the the key to the last 20 floors so Jinwoo spares them. The battle between Jinwoo and Baran is so cinematic, that the animation is always peak. Baran has lightning and fire breath abilities and can even summon high level soldiers, he even rides on a dragon. Finally, someone who can match Jinwoo and he would have lost if it weren't for Esil helping him. Now he has Baran's shadow he can absolutely destroy those ants in Jeju island.

Shallow story telling, main character finds random ass elf girl which catches "feelings for him" when she sees his big strong girthy long sword of course. Main character in s1 went from being a respectable guy who put others needs before his own no matter how they treated him to being an edgy narcissist. This anime is just a pointless fantasy, without any deeper meaning.

Jinwoo is the GOAT!!!!!!!!

It’s crazy how fast paced these episodes are. He just so conveniently found someone that could help him cleared the next levels, and suddenly, he went from 80 to 100.

And suddenly, he’s capable of fighting the Demon Monarch. I had some hopes it’d be a struggle but nope, Jinwoo overpowers the final boss he’s been searching for.

I am looking forward to this raid on Jeju Island since the anime has been hinting about it for a long time now. I see why everyone brings up HxH vibes because it did remind me of the Chimera Ant arc.

Time for all the S ranks to assemble!

How often do you see fight scenes in the rain!? I sure can't remember anything memorable.

Episode 8 knocked my socks off with it's impressive animation of the fight scene between MC and the demon king/ruler.

The pouring rain was beautifully animated, seapreating layers between visible rain drops to blurry streaks across the sky. It truly looked like an intense battle in the midst a storm outbreak.

First Esil, than that mental Baran fight? Double treat this week!

...on the other hand though, for such an epic conclusion it felt a bit short (to avoid saying "rushed"). That being said, I'm really excited to see what happens now, with the Life Elixir, Jeju Island and, uh, do you guys remember Jinwoo's dad?

F-ing amazing animation but it all feels so hollow. Like there's barely any story behind the fight. Even Demon Slayer had some sort of a story behind the fights. And I don't mean the broader story about the Elixir of Life. I meant something more about Baran himself. Maybe there will be more lore later down the line and this comment will be stupid but for now, there's barely any emotion I could feel in the fight.

Don't get me wrong, I love this show.

But I'm kinda tired of characters being humanized.. here I'm talking about Esil and her Father that are supposed to be demonic, evil, and that act as if they're humans.
They're supposed to defend their place against all ennemies, Jinwoo shows up and they're like "Yes daddy, anything you wish daddy".

Other exemples in other anime :
Piccolo in DBZ was supposed to be demonic and ended up being "cool".
Asta's demon in Black Clover supposed to be demonic until they found some sob story to make him a good devil.
... and so on.

I.AM.SICK.OF.IT.

That being said, this episode was a masterpiece.

Esil is cute. I like her character. Hopefully we see more of her in the future.

Next episode, I'm assuming we see him cure his mother which will be nice to see. Boy is she gonna get a shock when she finds out just how famous he is now, being the new 10th S rank.

But yeah that battle was awesome 👌 I'm amazed at how this show can just keep delivering... Jin Woo is getting so strong but at the same time, it still feels like he isn't as OP as he should be. His enemies are still putting up a serious fight.

Looking forward to see how he handles his new found fame and what he does with it now that he has the ingredients for the elixir of life, meaning his mission is now complete.

Jin-Woo finally gets an opponent that overpowers him, and so he needed a bit of help and luck to win. Though, this just means he'll get to be more powerful afterwards, but that's what leveling up does.

The unspoken and mutual hate between the S Hunters from South Korea and Japan was captured subtly by the anime and completes the emotional roller coaster of this episode. Jinwoo curing his mom's coma was the peak of the ride.

So not only was I right to feel sad for the intelligent monsters before it was pretty much confirmed that they are just being controlled against there will. Which still feels bad for the ice elf all the way at the start, Which he couldn't even bring back as a shadow.
Meanwhile while he's "picking up girls in the dungeon" people being torn apart by these bugs. Anyway yeah seems all "monsters" have just been brain hacked fr.
If normal weapons are ineffective how are they dissecting it? Like are those also dungeon tools then? are all people dissecting it technically hunters... like...
Anyway hope he makes it back in time for the JeJu raid and also hope he gets to meet his father soon. These Japanese guilds defenitly gonna be some sort of plot point just don't know exactly what yet though.
Oh yeah also hope he at least arises someone from all that... that one guy was probably too strong to arise just like the ice elf guy but maybe like his dragon or something.

Esil is adorable and I love her. Although I doubt she will be sticking around for much longer.

I like how Ryuji Goto spoke Japanese before they switched him to English for translation's sake.

I loved that fight with the demon monarch. Jinwoo went full Gurren Lagann when he uppercut his head off.
