While I was sufing on YouTube for any history anime I stumbled about this is called "Anituber" they talk about Like Mother's Basement and Gigguk there anime recommendations kind of basic to be honest but at least they are entertainment although not a fan since there anime recommendations are not my cup of tea

So how about What you think of Anituber why are they famous? And lately they don't talk about anime lately

(This is a Question I curious about them and the fans of it?)

I was never really a fan of them. The only ones I used to watch were The Canipa Effect and Under The Scope, which both of them stopped posting videos.

I've never watched a Gigguk video but I imagine I would not like it if I did.
Mother's Basement is basically a breadtuber.
I watched a clip from the "Trash Taste" podcast once and it was very painful.
The only YouTuber I watch who could be called an "anituber" is Eyepatch Wolf because the things he talks about are interesting, though often not related to anime, plus his videos are very long, which I prefer.

@deg A 20 minute YouTube video is half as long as a typical episode of a TV anime for me.

It is not worth my time to watch that nonsense. Why watch some uneducated fools ranting about something nobody cares about? I rather just watch some actual anime shows than some fool ranting about it.
I have approximately 1 terabyte of anime on my computer.

Don't see much point in watching them when I could instead invest that time in just watching anime itself, or doing just about anything else.

Depending on each anituber, I barely check Gigguk and related to him people [Connor and Joey] mainly people who are around Bleach content, so that's my cup of tea and stuff I follow [ex. Flame of Rebirth, Jaymes Hanson, Mrtommo2304, muken etc.].

I've tried it. Watching people people talk about anime doesn't appeal to me as much as watching people talk about movies and cartoons does. Especially since I'm way more likely to find weird things I've never heard of and never would have found on my own with those.

I only watch the seasonal round-up videos these days.

Mother's Basement's "Best Anime of *season* *year*" videos give me a rough idea of what's out there and what's being talked about. Good summary, with anime footage, and some opinions and jokes. I appreciate showcasing new anime instead of sequels, too.

I sometimes watch Gigguk's seasonal round-ups. Those are way more about jokes and memes, but I like how he gets sincere and impassioned when he wants to. Not particularly useful or insightful, though.

I also check out some sakuga compilations on YouTube, but they probably don't count as "AniTube."

I only have watched a few videos of Trash Taste, which were a bit entertaining, but I don't think I'll ever watch them regularly.

The only Anituber I was following is NinotakuTV, who's making news for the upcoming anime titles and has made some videos about Japan in general as well. The reason why I'm not watching his videos anymore is that I'm more interested in watching older/finished shows than the newest ones. I'm rarely interested in new shows, and at least 90% of the seasonal shows I'm watching are sequels to an already existing show.

Pretty overhated, at least here on MAL.. ppl here give Anitubers crap when their only argument is "why watch Anitubers when you can watch anime instead".
Personally I'm not invested in videos that overanalyze anime, sometimes it ain't that deep, still interesting content though. I keep up with Gigguk & Joey

Garbage. Plain and simply garbage. 90% of them are shills who shill current anime so you can pay to support the current thing.

I don't really watch them regularly, but I do sometimes look for overall season reviews to see what peoples thoughts are. Mostly tho, it's to check out random people's reviews on anime that are different from my own opinions to see if I overlooked somethings in anime that I thought were bad, or to check out the legitimacy of the faults that people point out about anime that I like. They don't always influence my opinion, but they do give me a better understanding of my own tastes, and the anime as a whole. Such individuals have also seen the views of many others due to being popular so they tend to have a more holistic viewpoint which I find nice.

90% cringe and 99% we don´t have the same taste at all because all they speak of is the main stream shit or the most depressing anime. If I want depression I just read today´s news.

There is only 1 anituber I like and it´s kenny lauderdale because.
1. He don´t pretend to be an anime girl with avatar and speak in a silly voice to sound as cute as possible. He is him self.
2. He does not focus on main stream anime the top 5 of this season.
3. He does not sing praises for every anime that made him feel like shit and cry.
4. He focus on obscure as frack anime
5. He goes in to detail about history and such depending how much info he find.

@Lost_Viking Oh my, GrumpyJiisan was great. I remember watching him long, long ago. He was an anime connoisseur. A real one, not some wannabe. Yes, he can be considered one of the pioneers of anime YouTuber activities, but personally, I see him way above any anime YouTuber I briefly checked out in... like... many years. That says a lot about how high quality GrumpyJiisan's content presented years ago, how substantive it was. May he rest in peace.

i would prolly consider myself a "fan" of anitubers, so to speak. Spent quite a bit of time watching Gigguk and CDawgVA over the years. However I think my enjoyment of them doesn't really come from their "opinions" on anime itself or shows in particular, but more for entertainment value.

For instance, Gigguk's seasonal anime has always been a good way for me to get a quick glimpse at shows that are coming out or have come out that I should think about watching, however I take each recommendation with a pinch of salt. With him in particular, I've just always enjoyed his humour and personality, more than his opinions on anime itself (although I do agree with quite a few of his takes).

Trash Taste Pod is a great example of this actually. Three "AniTubers" i.e. The Anime Man, CDawgVA, and Gigguk with occasional "Anime" related guests, which usually Japanese Culture related specials. Their primary focus probably would be anime, but they do branch out quite a bit. And again, the podcasts entertainment value comes from the guys themselves rather than the shows they are talking about.

I prefer Websites like MyAnimeList, animeplanet Reddit forums where I often have discussions with highly knowledgeable fans than clueless youtubers who spread fake content and misinformation and their knowledge is below average and their recommendations are basic top 10 on Mal..
I like to read academic articles by anime fans and scholars who write detailed analyses and essays on various aspects of anime.

Given my extensive viewing history of 5123 completed anime, I find it rewarding to share my own insights and recommendations and participating in forums.
