| Forget Sion, we all know it's Will that did the dirty work. Looks like Edward doesn't see Will in good light, which is a problem, since he's a teacher there. Will had to prove himself again and I have a feeling this will be a recurring gag throughout the series. On another note, there's some pretty dangerous magic being used this episode. Will really caught himself into a dangerous position but he's the MC so he has to through this. |

| Dude Edward is hating so much lol. At the Academy, everyone is buzzing about the top student, Sion Ulster, defeating a formidable enemy. However, only Sion and a few professors know that it was actually Will who achieved this feat. Edward, who came close to joining the ranks of the Magia Vander and is feared as the Dark Vipermage, is aware of the truth. Despite this, he cannot bring himself to acknowledge Will, who is incapable of using any magic. As a professor at the Academy, Edward devises a special assignment exclusively for Will. I mean I kinda get where Edward is coming from, but the fact that Will can defeat a 10-point monster thing or whatever, is a feat in it of itself that at the very least, as his teacher, he should commend him or compliment him or something. But no, just resort to hating ig lol. Will's whole speech about wanting to keep his promise to his loved one was the most Asta speech ever lol. That aside, animation looked better than last episode somehow. Entire final segment was a spectacle to watch. Peak Cinema as they say, Will's managed to stay for now... thankfully. |

| Production values not as good as the first episode, but still amazing and among the top 2 or 3 of the season. The big fight climax was phenomenally animated and gave me chills. I still just can’t help but wonder what Danmachi and Black Clover would be like with this sort of love and care lol. Last week we had to deal with asshole students, but it seems like EVERYONE is against will, even staff? The headmistress or whatever she is is a scumbag. And the absolute nerve of Sion to get an attitude with and grab Will in the hallway after he saved his bum ass lmao. I would’ve left him in that dungeon. Going back to the idea of everyone being against Will, the Edward “test” fight was so lame because why would you not allow him to use his weapon which is exactly what gives him a chance against wand users lol? Also Edward projecting his insecurities onto Will all because he failed to become a Magia Vander was annoying. It’s not Will fault your dream didn’t work out, maybe if you had the determination and someone to love like Will does you’d have been successful π€·πΎβοΈ Also the irony of bringing up the dwarves battle from back in the day when you yourself don’t even know the full story. Just like back then, the sword user lands a hit on the mage and gains his respect. Soon as Will got his sword the entire fight shifted and Edward went from talking all that shit to silent π “you get 3 points” yea I bet he fucking does. Whole episode was basically Will shutting the haters up and I loved it. Hopefully we get more of the actual story next week though! Also, Will need to stop being so obsessed with childhood friend and realise how amazing Colette is. He’d have been dead if not for her. Typical Oomori sensei protag ignoring best girl for an idealised waifu π |

The animation choreography in this anime is really cool, but story-wise I still need a few things that can make me feel at home watching this, let's see how far this will go. OP is aight, but ED seeing Elfie hugging Will's plushie is very cute.  |

Kiki's the best btw, such a great girl. Where do I find one? Also Will's roommate looks amusing. Animation/visuals was once again so good. This season if nothing else has so many well animated shows. |

| Will has to deal with not just hating ass students, but a hating ass teacher as well. Edward is such an asshole lmao, dude fell just short of becoming a Magia Vander and is taking it out on Will just because he's trying to achieve the same without magic. Glad Colette got him his sword just in time so he could just narrowly pass Edward's test. The animation wasn't as insane as the premiere but the overall action and choreography was still great. |

| Loved the episode and pacing it had. For a moment I thought they would make a cliff-hanger and leave the duel for next episode. Luckily they didn't. Everything was spot on but I can't help but think the reason he's trying so hard, "for the girl he loves", is completely juvenile and retarded. She can climb down presumably they can talk. What kind of world of magic doesn't allow teleportation or video calling ... oh right, they showed that as well. But no. He must get up there. School setting is also the annoying factor here but it's not overwhelming and it doesn't spoil the story. Old and chewed up story about a guy who is discriminated against in school by most popular guys while girls run around gawking at them. And of course there's always one who is in love with main character, but he only has eyes for some other bimbo who doesn't give two shits when it matters but is in fact presented as main love interest. Gah, painfully generic... executed rather well. Only redeeming factor. |

| Animation is pretty decent and still has some cool shots there but fairly inconsistent in its quality and some drawings at times, didn't have anywhere near the impact that last week had and honestly, the competition is just way too high with well animated shows and some of those like The Elusive Samurai on the action front delivered way more than this in the action department. While Elusive Samurai had me more annoyed with the comedy, this one is less frustrating to watch but more boring with the actual story and characterization involved. Ultimately, the story and characterization matters way more to me personally than just the eye-candy and the writing has sucked here so far and offered me nothing to really be excited about with the plot to have high expectations and anticipation for. Maybe in another season, having cool animation for this would be better but in a season full of well-animated, cinematic shows, this show stands out even less as a result even with the animation and direction for action series being as it is. |
| I had my doubts in the first episode, but yeah, now I can say this story too came from the same manufacturing hub bazillions of isekai/fantasy have where the main guy is tortured through public humiliation from.. literally anyone, because plot demands that. Hope we do see something other than shiny colours and routine backflips going forward. Teacher got what he deserved though. |

| Poor Collette, she stands no chance. And after seeing the ED I can understand why. As old and played out as this "talentless beats talented in specific way" trope is, there is a reason why it still gets used - it just works, atleast when done well. Not that this is an outstanding or thought provoking plot, but atleast the production quality makes it nice to look at. The effects of Corona are truly over with how many good looking shows we have now. |

@phantomfandom Rosti is a male. It sounded like a female seiyuu to me as well, which makes me think that the most likely explanation is the fan theory surrounding him.

| Will is such a sweet kid. I was actively rooting for him during the fight with his teacher and I was so happy when he was able to scratch the teacher. I really hope that now he understands how strong our boy is. He also confessed his love for Elfaria which was cute and from the ED, it looks like she loves him just as much. Great episode. Nice OP and very cute ED. Can't wait for more of this and meet new characters. It looks like there are many characters that are fond of Will. Doesn't surprise me tbh. |

| I get that Edward doesn't care about Will at all, but making him take the test without his sword is just low. It's the equivalent of making a magic user take the test without their wand, of course they will fail. I wish someone would have called Edward out for that bs! Aside from that it was another amazingly animated episode!! The quality of this anime is just top notch π |

| I really like the lighting in this show. It's honestly amazing how much a difference it makes in scenes where they're simply walking or talking. Also liked the opening song when the chorus joined in. |
| It's been very interesting to witness a season filled with very well animated shows, and I had my concerns about the consistency of the visual quality after last episode, but while this episode didn't pack as much of a punch in that regard, I'm glad the quality is still on the high side. Writing-wise, not expecting anything really standout here, but at the very least, I do hope it gets going and does something intriguing, because right now, it has been very "by-the-book" in terms of this type of genre. My expectations have been tempered, but I hope it can impress me at least a little bit. |

| Which student with magic could have passed that test? They all would've gotten their asses kicked. If his familiar hadn't of gone to the lockers Ed would have killed Will. WTF kind of teacher steps on a student? I hope we see Ed fight again and get served badly. |
