Rudeus the combat magician, can't take my eyes of you. Roxy sensei fell hard, she's so in love. So adorable. Loved watching Roxy and Rudeus. Man I've been waiting to see this for so long. Ganbatte Roxy sensei. Also it's finally time. Get ready! |

Best girl is finally back Rudeus, Paul, and their companions rescued Roxy, who had been trapped alone in the labyrinth, and returned to the town for her to recover. While noticing that Roxy sometimes seems distant, Rudeus reminisces about old times with her. Three days later, they re-enter the Teleporter Labyrinth, determined to increase their pace in conquering its floors as they resume the search for Zenith. As same as ever, first thing Rudeus does when hugging Roxy is smell her... same old same old. Also, wtf was that noise he made when throwing up. It definitely wasn't the sound of throwing up, that's for sure. But anyways, just seeing Rudeus and Roxy interact again brings a smile to my face. Looks like Roxy's even caught some feelings for Rudeus, because ofc he needs to have a harem. Episode was more about dungeon exploring than anything else. What could the magic circle lead them to exactly... Zenith at last? |

It's great to see Roxy catching up with Rudeus after all this time since they've been apart. Rudeus remembers the times they've been together and the past. Seems Roxy's personality is still generally the same as before. It looks like this episode had them return to that same labyrinth but with an united party that includes Paul, Elinalise, ec. Almost like the episode served as a celebration for the family and friends. Not going to lie, I hope to see more of Paul and Rudeus teaming up. |

Another amazing episode this week it was really nice to see Rudeus and Roxy together again Some LN Extra Details (Volume 12 Chapter 4-7) - Rudy is jealous when Talhand is carrying Roxy - Now Rudy kinda understands how Sylphie feels when he forget about her before she reveals herself. - Rudeus said his spell his just mana enhanced Frost Nova even though Talhand and Roxy thought it might be an Emperor-tier magic, Absolute Zero. - When Roxy is saying how small her mana pool is, Rudy thought she might have same amount as Sylphie, or even more than her. - Rudy was referencing Ultra Slash attack from Ultraman when he and Roxy doing the Icicle Blade and Stone Cannon combo together - Paul said he has a keen sight that helped him identify and bought his short short in Rapan. That sword has Steel-Cutting ability and is able to cut steel in two even when used by his non-dominant hand, which is useful against Armored Warriors. - Roxy theorise that the beasts in labyrinth might be consuming mana as food, so Rudy thought that there might be mana that can be consume and the one that couldn't, such as magic attacks since they did not just eat his spells. - The party mentions that usually Ghislaine will usualy help make the choice when they are having issues similar to choosing between the magic circles. - Elinalise and Talhand are still skeptical on how much Ghislaine has changed when Rudy is defending her. - Rudy thought it feels strange when Ghislaine, who is the person in party that maintain in contact with Paul since in Buena village is not here. Differences from LN - Rudy was often shooed by Lilia when he tries to check up on her when she was recovering after being rescued - Extra screentime with Roxy shopping with Rudy shopping together - Missing minor moment with Rudy, Talhand and Roxy hanging around for drinks after clearing 4th floor. - Paul's talk with Rudy is when they are having piss together - It takes two times for Rudy to break the stair bricks possibly because he is holding back too much. |

Well, you were like 9 when she last saw you so I think it's only natural that she doesn't recognize you lol Oh goddd nooooo, please no one tell Roxy that Rudy is married. She is super adorable acting like that though. I wonder how much time exactly it takes for them to go in and out of the labyrinth. I'm guessing they can't sleep there so it's always within one day. Edit: I forgot that in last episode when they were on the second floor Geese said "I thought it would take us several days to get this far", so they do sleep there, my bad. |

Loved the episode. It was really nice seeing Rudeus and Roxy reunite officially, even if the beginning after the hug itself was not quite as romantic and perfect as expected with Rudeus throwing up out of fear of being forgotten lol. Wasn't surprising at all that the anime went back to show a bit of what was happening from Roxy's perspective, but nice to see that added. Does make sense that Roxy didn't recognize him though, the man was like 5 when Roxy left Buena Village so seeing him as more of a grown up would be quite the internal shock once realizing the truth. It was very wholesome though seeing how much respect Rudeus had for Roxy and given that it has been over a decade since he has seen her and given how important she is in his life and building himself up to who he is now, you could tell how attached he was to her. And Roxy of course in her own subtle way, being attached and extra caring to him too in a shy way. The scenes with Roxy talking about the past together with him were really nice in reminding her of how far she has come with the Buena Village portion of her life being that important to her, even if it was only 2 years. Really liked Paul's metaphor there with the two swords and how he only had one before but now relies on both despite their different roles, serves as an effective metaphor for the situation at hand involving Rudeus. Bits of world building there too with the labyrinth exploration, as well as Rudeus and Roxy shopping together for different items that would be helpful to conquer the labyrinth along the way with the help of the book which is always nice. Beyond that, Paul was really good too. Not just with the metaphor like mentioned earlier for advice, but also wanting to be a cool father figure that for once, can show off his good side to Rudeus through what he can do best, and any compliments that come along the way fueled his ego quite well. It kind of shows how close the original party he was in actually was with how Elinalise laughed off that and generally, how comfortable they are with each other in this kind of mode when they all used to adventure around and do these kinds of activities for a living. The chemistry shines well here despite the anime only showing these people off together for brief scenes previously and the last 3 episodes. Time flew by really quickly and overall, it was a very nice episode with good mix of world building, action, character bonding and a nice, calm before the storm kind of attitude before things get really intense with these last few episodes to go. Next episode is quite something to say the least. Called 'Parents' on Father's Day fittingly. |

Roxy was adorable in this ep, shame that the person she's smitten with already has a wife and future kid on the way. It was really cute seeing her and Rudy reminisce though about the past, which almost feels nostalgic for me as a viewer and LN reader too seeing them talk about scenes like that from the earlier days. Paul being a cool dad trying to make up for looking like a loser in front of Rudy all the time with his advice and fighting skills, his expression after receiving a compliment from Rudy was pure gold. |

First Roxy episode in a while and Rudy has to immediately ruin it by sniffing her and being overly attached, ugh. Welp, now it seems like she sees him in different eyes and he's not seeing that nor stating his current relationship with Sylphie. Also, there're major death flags now surrounding Paul and with the title of the next episode I don't think he'll come out of it unbruised. I'm just speculating so I could be wrong or it could actually happen later on. Furthermore, I wasn't entirely convinced by the small montage of Roxy surviving in the dungeon for a month. How did she sustain her basic necessities and such? Was this all part of the LN? No matter to dwelve into it now but still. |

Season 2 has felt so flat to me, The first half felt slow, boring and focused on the wrong things and the second half was building up, I was so glad that Rudeus had finally left the school and we would get some fun storyline or fighting scenes again. But Idk what it is, but since the end of season one, every major storyline has felt rushed for speeding up the 'plot' or something. Ive not read the original content so Idk if its like this in the manga, but they found Roxy straight away and it would not surprise me if they find his mother within the next 2 episodes. I was actually getting a little excited when I saw the end of episode 8, but this episode has kind of brought me back to reality, it took it back to the annoying side of the anime. My biggest problem with how this has worked out, is that Roxy showed little emotion now that she had found Rudeus again. like I SWEAR THE ENTIRE REASON SHE WAS SEARCHING TO BEGIN WITH WAS TO FIND RUDEUS. It was like one of the main storylines of Roxy throughout season 1. So why when they meet again does she have no emotion. Now I understand it might be because she is tired from being in the labyrinth for 1 month, but once she comes to, its the same, little emotion. Idk i thought I would rant a little as the anime has felt so dull and seems like its skipping parts of the story, either to save time or the author of the original story, just lost care in their work and wanted to end it quicker so is trying to close loose ends quicker. |

@Itzbouncy She was looking not just for Rudeus but family too, and in the Demon Continent, once she found out that Rudeus was doing well and was travelling with the Sperd as comrades and was in a successful party, she felt reassured. Was looking for other family members along the way during that time after like Zenith, Lilia, Aisha, etc. It's not the same as not knowing a single thing about him and finding him out of complete nowhere where she was stressed that he could have been gone for good. She was exhausted but you could tell she was reassured more than anything seeing him once she was okay after rest and knew that the person was him, she liked being around him a lot and staring at him so its not like no emotions there after. |

Over a decade since Rudy last saw Roxy and over 2? 3? years since we actually saw them interact and my god does it feel so good. It is just so refreshing seeing them being happy and chatting and the entire gang having fun while exploring the labyrinth. Loved the Paul metaphor with the 1 sword being enough and then having 2 swords serving their own role. It's gonna be kinda sad when Roxy inevitably realises that Rudy is married and has a kid on the way... Also LN readers have been hyping this up alot and so far, although it has been really good, nothing crazy has happened. Doesn't help that next episode is called Parents. The anxiety Im feeling right now is tantamount to the one I get with the turning point episodes. i CANT wait a week dude GIVE ME THIS SHIT RIGHT NOW RAHHHH |

Rudy saves his master! Roxy had her own hard time in the labyrinth. Constantly being confused by the twists and turns coupled with the teleportation circles made Roxy lose her way which lead to Rudy rescuing her. Him sniffing her exclusively is absolutely peak, every single one of use would sniff a goddess scent if we could, I don't want to hear any denials. Roxy not recognizing Rudy was almost the end of this whole journey, he could barely recover from such a shock. Even throwing up from the stress of Roxy not remembering. But she just couldn't connect cute little kid Rudy to this strapping young man in front of her so he was able to recover from his shock. Taking some time to rest with Roxy is good, since it not only provides the obvious but lets Roxy get acclimated to seeing Rudy as he is now. Rudy being eager to spend time with Roxy is so adorable. Her nervous reactions make it even more so, Rudy is now the confident of the two where all those years ago it was Roxy leading him around. Heading back into the labyrinth the party makes good progress going into further stratums. They work great together as a team and can coordinate their attacks on the monsters. Rudy praising Paul was funny and definitely gave pops a big head. Roxy and Rudy resting together warmed my heart since we can see she's falling for him. Paul gave Rudy some good advice with the two swords analogy, if you think about it you know what he really means. Rudy using the teleportation circle to travel there ended up helping even more than cutting travel time since he knew what kind of room they were in. Leading them to the sixth stratum. |

It's nice to finally see Rudy and Roxy reunited, even though it was a bit awkward at first with Roxy not recognizing Rudy, followed by him puking lol. I'm glad we got to see them traveling in the same party, and it looks like Roxy caught some feelings. Rudy, you gotta tell her.... Looks like the real action of this arc will begin next week. |

From last week: Akaseaka said: Roxy had managed to survive for a month in the labyrinth, yet she was overwhelmed at the exact moment Rudeus reached her. It would be way better if Roxy was trapped and didn't have a way out. She barely managed to survive in the labyrinth, but her strength is deteriorating and her hope of finding a viable way is dwindling. She could be desperate and hopeless but she could keep her grace and her name as a distinguished magician. Ellifein said: Technically the happenings in both of these two quotes end up being the case, but what disappoints me is that this episode still fails to show how impressive Roxy was. How she fought in the labyrinth was largely skipped, and she was just drawing crosses on the wall and becoming increasingly pitiful in her POV.There is also a small chapter from her POV of struggling to survive for a month (which actually showcased how impressive she is cause its not an easy task) before he saved her. THO they will probably show her POV next episode, and if not i think someone will post it in one of those threads |

Rudy not telling Roxy about Sylphie is actually making Roxy fall for him even more, she was very adorable and Rudy thinking she was insecure cause of his height. Paul showing off in front of Rudy is always nice to watch and also encouraging him to build his harem😭😭 Pretty chill episode with great chemistry among the party, great Rudy-Roxy moments but also more great fights and world buliding. Looks like no more fun as the dreaded thing is approaching as next title is "Parents" on father's day. |

The much anticipated reunion between master and student is finally here and it was as good as we’d hoped. “I’ve been down here a whole month” yea so lemme smell it lmao. That’s the best part 😭 Nah but in all seriousness really cute reunion between Roxy and Rudy and I love how awkward Roxy was at first. Throughout the episode she stays all flustered and conservative around Rudy because it’s obvious she’s into him. I think Rudy is the only one who hasn’t realised it because he still sees her as his teacher and goddess , someone who is way over mere mortal things like romance. It’s cute that Roxy’s idea of a date is a labyrinth raid. Asking Rudy to solo tackle a dungeon took a lot of courage for her. Love how comfortable and at peace she looked just taking a nap on rudy’s back! Rudy being so much bigger than her now reminds me of how when you’re younger you think your parents are so big and strong, then as we grow up we see that they’re not as big as we remember and they need help. Often we still keep those idealised versions of our parents in our head like Rudy has for Roxy Only thing that annoyed me though is Rudy not mentioning he got a wife and a kid on the way at all to Roxy. I know he’s too slow to realise she’s into him rn, but when she asked if Nanahoshi was his gf he should’ve been like “oh no, I’m married” wouldn’t be able to have harem antics tho if we did that ig.. Paul’s two swords/wives analogy went right over his head 😂 sylphie and Roxy would serve different roles. One helped him thru his lowest point and the other serves as constant inspiration/an ideal to strive toward.. Anyway before all of that, we need to save zenith, the whole point of this expedition. Hopefully they get there soon! The backpat scene was so funny, everyone’s hitting Rudy so hard on the back and Roxy is too scared and shy to do it lmao. Oh yea and Paul being excited about being called stronger by Rudeus was so sweet. |

I'm happy we finally have a full episode with Roxy. It's been a while. I didn't expect Rudeus to throw up just from her rejection. Now he knows what Sylphie felt when he didn't recognize her. Of course Paul makes the infamous family face and then later endorses polygamy by making an obvious comparison with swords. This is the Greyrat way |

@MangagnaM I get that, and my main point was just the pacing of the entire season, more than just roxys reaction. I get it, but like I felt like a little more of a reaction was needed. Idk, so much feels rushed this season. literally in this episode, they found roxy, she had 0 to no emotion towards him, and by the end of the episode she was visibly in love with him. Like idk, everything feels like its going too fast this season, pacing just feels off like the author really wanted to get this story finished so they could move on in life. |

It would be way better if Roxy was trapped and didn't have a way out. She barely managed to survive in the labyrinth, but her strength is deteriorating and her hope of finding a viable way is dwindling. She could be desperate and hopeless but she could keep her grace and her name as a distinguished magician.

There is also a small chapter from her POV of struggling to survive for a month (which actually showcased how impressive she is cause its not an easy task) before he saved her. THO they will probably show her POV next episode, and if not i think someone will post it in one of those threads
Technically the happenings in both of these two quotes end up being the case, but what disappoints me is that this episode still fails to show how impressive Roxy was. @Akaseaka Yeah, I agree, it would have been pretty sick to see how she survived down their for a month with little to no food and water. rather than just explain that she went around the same track and through the same portal for a month straight before stating she didnt want to die. I will say that there was more emotion towards the end of the episode, but again, it felt rushed, we went through only 1 episode, but we found roxy, and during one episode she has fallen in love with Rudy, he didnt even do anything special, he just acted like his dumb self. idk, everything to me just feels so rushed by the author just so they could rap up loose story ends to finish it quicker. |

Dammit, I fell asleep and missed the release. Well, this episode certainly did not end where I thought it would. Guess we're gonna leave that for the intro next week. All in all, this seems more on pace than the last two episodes. I forgot no one tells Roxy about Sylphie. |

I know I should probably be against polygamy and whatnot but I'm cheering for Roxy. She's by far the best of the girls that have been in Rudy's life. |

Waking up early has its benefits. The Good -My boy Rudy coming in clutch. -The episode brought up two points about trauma, and handled them so well. I'll split these two into their chronological positions. The first is Rudeus's reaction to thinking Roxy had forgotten about him. This tells he's experienced this in some form in the past and it's affected him. Being forgotten would be traumatic, especially if it came from something he experienced before. In fact, this has been a pretty difficult arc for Rudy. He dealt with the potential trauma of loss in the previous episode. Now, he avoided the trauma of being forgotten. -Roxy DOWN BAD for my boy and meanwhile he's gone John Wick. -Paul having that proud dad moment. Even Ellinalise had to giggle. -We get to the second point about trauma, which is Rudy's observation about how people of this world deal with it. It's an interesting perspective to have him so invested, so ready to call this world his, yet to have moments like this where he is conscious of his own separation from the world. He isn't from this world, but has grown so fond of it that he's integrated so well. And yet, he realizes there are significant differences from the world he came from and has that unique perspective on it. As for trauma, his old way didn't really work for him before. But exposure therapy (how people of this world "deal with trauma") has helped him in the past. -Rudy confirming that he would like to go to a labyrinth with Roxy was probably the best moment in the episode, and that's saying something. -The sword analogy was lost on Rudy, but Paul being a dad was so good. -I love moments where a character has an "ah, ha!" due to some seemingly irrelevant conversation or event that causes that epiphany. It happened in the LOTR movies. I just enjoy those moments. The Bad -The episode was too short. We got to the title card and my reaction was like "the Hell?" And then, I saw the timestamp. -I think in 1 or 2 scenes, the animation seems to have slipped a bit. I could be wrong, but it seemed that way. -I feel like the episode could have shown us more of Roxy's perspective prior to/during her rescue. What we got through dialogue and scenes was sufficient, but there was definitely a lot more that could have been said/done. I'll grant that the production staff probably felt the same and made the decision to cut whatever was in the LN because there just wasn't enough time this cour to have individual character moments. I'm hoping for a movie from Roxy's perspective, though. -Not enough Paul being a dad. Or, Paul getting lightly ribbed. Or, Ellinalise reacting. Or, Roxy being DOWN BAD. -Roxy wasn't DOWN BAD enough. Sylphiette was about to commit crimes with a lamp. How is Roxy gonna join the harem if she can't even find a rock? Jokes aside, I liked so much about this episode. There were details big and small that just made everything so good. I do like that cuts are used effectively and the staff seem to know where they can skimp on details. The BD releases will probably be touched up, and that will definitely be a release worth waiting for. |

"Thorkell has no resistance to getting kicked in the f-in head. To be honest, neither do I." -Captain Mack "You've faced many life-and-death situations. But that does not make you an adult. Finding more fallen-out hairs on your pillow, watching your favorite stuffed-bread disappear from the convenience store... the accumulation of those little despairs is what makes a person an adult."-Nanami Kento "When a piece of media is bad, it's much easier to nitpick the less significant things because they're seen as a part of the problem. Alternatively, it becomes more difficult to nitpick something like a masterpiece because even the flaws are seen as contributing to the overall quality of the media." -Paraphrasing Mauler |

Great episode, and there is nothing wrong with having multiple wives as long as it's done right, some people live in a moral bubble and like to dictate to others how to live, just because you don't believe in multiple partners doesn't mean you get to dictate your world view to them, anyway... Great show all in all, love it so far. |
