I might be an oddball here but as an LN reader I am quite dissappointed by the anime adaptation. In the LN, the entire heist was treated as this very time constraining and a serious thing where they got to showcase just how brutal and powerful Kazuma can be with his skillset. They also showed just how quick-witted both Kazuma and Chris can be and they're also very well coordinated. Of course there are bits of funny moments here and there but it is more towards cool action sprinkled in with a bit of comedy.

Where as in the anime, they made it seem more comedy sprinkled in with a bit of cool action scenes. They failed to capture how truly deadly the duo is and also the intensity of the moment. The anime also cut many scenes that should've added more to the feats of the dua. Rather than having those few scenes, the anime hit us a with a flashback in the beginning of the episode which was unnecessarily long. I think the fact that they try to make every scene feels "comedic" is a downer for me especially in this season of Konosuba. In the previous season, although there are many comedic scenes, they also have their fair share of downtime where the cast is a bit more chill and not just chaotic all the time. That downtime really adds to the depth of the characters showing that these are actual people who are in an actual party and not just there to as a tool for the sake of gags. The serious moments should be actually serious and the funny moments should be funny, not just trying to make everything into a comedy all the time. What makes Konosuba great compared to other comedy animes is the fact that the cast actually feels like how you'd feel when you're with your friends. We all can act dumb

together and make bad desicions but we also have our fair share of serious moments and times that showcase how well we can work together. The fact that this season of

Konosuba missed the most crucial part of what makes this show unique and one of it's kind really really upsets me.

Personally, that's what I find lacking in this season of Konosuba. As an LN reader, hopefully the director of the show would put more thought on adapting the essence of what makes Konosuba special.

Good episode but should have been perfect if they adapted it properly. They cut/changed too much.

- Because of time constraints most of the character development for Kazuma is skipped.
- The anime downplayed the seriousness of the body swapping item. Actually it's a much darker plot in the making.
- Kazuma & Chris had the Lurk skill on, so they shouldn't have been found even while feeling each other up.
- Kazuma takes a porn magazine from the treasure vault is the reason the alarms go off and they can't be sneaky anymore.
- The guards are high level but a thief skill allows the group to evade and outrun them.
- Kazuma not just drowns Mitsurugi but also freezes the water inside him. Taking out the legendary hero destroys the guards morale, also Mitsurugi stays down and can't fight anymore.
- Rain is a mage not a priest, she doesn't know healing spells.
- Claire orders Rain to kill them with magic, but Kazuma destroys Rain's staff with snipe. She can't fight anymore and also causes massive emotional damage.
- Aqua was about to use a serious spell that would've prevented them from escaping.

TL;DR: The anime downplayed the seriousness of the situation, also downplayed how much damage Kazuma caused.

@WienGirl I actually agree that it's the worst season made. That's because there have only been two before it and both were 9-10/10. This one is at least a 7, with flashes of 8+. I'm hoping it will kick up a notch down the line?

Be happy. At least it's not Jobless Reincarnation 2 part 2.

The worst Konosuba season made.

Now 6 episodes in. Haven't laughed once, it's just badly written and with stupid scenarios that do nothing but focus on what a scumbag Kazuma is.

Have watched the first two seasons and the movie about 4 times, they're so well-done and so funny, but I'm now watching this on double speed. Boring AF.

That's exactly it. It's easy to see how it was produced by completely different people than the first two seasons and the movie.

The comedy in those while hilarious, was also clever. This is just slap-stick and stupid.

And like you said -- Aqua, while dumb before, is now just a useless alcoholic lounging around drunk, Darkness is bland and one-dimensional, and Megumin - honestly, I can't remember anything about Megumin in this, and I've watched all six episodes.

And Kazuma, while always a bit sleazy, is now just a lazy scumbag with not one redeeming quality so far.

It's just a shadow of its former self and, personally, I think it's a lost cause as Studio Drive predominantly produces garbage -- the Explosion spin-off, The Demon Prince of Momochi House, Teppen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, Vlad Love -- all a waste of time, and some of the lowest rated anime in the last few years. (I think "Explosion" was only rated as high as it was because it's Megumin, as that was not interesting or funny either).

Iris seems like the actual heroine now. I feared she would be mad, but it seems she still cherishes Scumzuma.

More importantly though Megumin got super jealous.

Was the mask buffing Kazuma or did he genuinely defeat the entire guard?! I guess if he is not holding back and believing in himself he is quite capable after all.

I still believe Megumin is just going to blow up the demon king, sitting in his castle, barrier and all. Unless they are going to find a way to cut Wiz connection to it.

Vanir told Kazuma the mask would make him stronger at night, which is when they did their heist.
