Do you guys skip recaps at the start of the episode like One Piece where they're around 4-6 minutes long

No, I only skip recaps if it’s a .5 episode or a full recap movie.

I always skip recaps because I don't usually watch things as they're ongoing, so why watch a recap for something that I just watched minutes ago? A day ago even. The only time I wouldn't skip a recap if its legitimately been like months since I watched the show.

I skip everything that's skippable: opening, intro, recap, recap episodes, stretched scenes, annoying scenes, stupid scenes etc

Yeah not a fan of recaps since I rarely watch shows that are still airing. Prefer to watch them in bulk than dying of waiting every week.

Depends.

If I had taken a break from an anime between episodes or waited 1+ week than I don't mind a short recap to remind me what has happened. If I am doing a marathon going by all 12-24+ episodes at once than I am skipping the recap as I've just watched it in previous episodes.

Same here, unless the recap episode/movie add something new and interesting content to it.

Yes. There has never and never will be any point in recaps. Unfortunately, sometimes these recaps end up being the entire episode.

When binging I always do for obvious reason. Otherwise if I don't clearly remember what happened before, which almost never happenes.

I don't watch the recaps unless I know it's been awhile since I've touched the series. With One Piece I take loooong breaks, and everytime I am catching up I'll watch the recaps and only then is it helpful to remind me what's been going on in the series.

If it's something airing, no.

If it's something older or has finished airing, maybe if I forgot but I generally have a good memory of what occurred previously.

Most of the time yes. I mean 70% of the time I skip the opening song. Unless the song is subjectively brilliant.

Never skip them. Rationale: Those scenes picked by the director are what they consider to be "key scenes" and important. Quite often this includes foreshadowings or other hints. Or the cut sequence reveals a story detail I may have missed otherwise. Having a condensed 1-2 minute version of the story is really useful in grasping complexity.

It depends. If I'm binge watching I skip them.
If I'm seeing a new arc of that anime after a long time I actually find the recap useful ^^

Sometimes I skip the general summary or the previous synopsis, sometimes I don't.

Whether I skip or not depends on my mood and whether I have time to spare when I am watching an anime piece. ......

most of the time yes.

If I didn't watch for a certain period of time, and i need to refresh my memory then no.
Morpheus: The Matrix is everywhere. It is all around us. Even now, in this very room. You can see it when you look out your window or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work... when you go to church... when you pay your taxes.
It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth.

Neo: What truth?

Morpheus: That you are a slave, Neo.

It depends on how I'm watching the series; if it's a seasonal and I can't really remember much of what happened last ep, then I wouldn't. But if it were a series I was binge-watching, then I would since I can remember what happened last ep.

One Piece regular episode be like: 10 minutes recap of a previous episode, 1 minute of new material, 10 minutes preview for the next episode.
