I don't think there is one. . . Anyone can like a popular show.

You can take a different perspective to it(normie), but the show is indifferent.

None. This thread is ridiculous. The term “normie” is also ridiculous and if you use it unironically there’s a problem

Dragon Ball, because I know a lot of people who don't know anything about anime but watched this back when they were young.

None. Anime in itself as already the least normie thing there is.

May I remind you that DragonBall was heavily edited on TV, so it was far from normie.Same with One Piece and Naruto in some countries.
Normie anime would be child friendly series like Heidi, Maya the Bee, Maple Town etc where both parents, TV standard regulators and stations are at ease

Death note, AoT and Naruto are the first that come to mind. There are a lot of Shounen anime that have a large fan base of normies.

If we're talking about "normie" in the Western sense, then it's those where the dub is overwhelmingly prevalent over the sub, from a popularity standpoint. To me, that's Pokemon, Bebop, and Haruhi.

This has been a huge discussion between my friends of what animes that you consider to be a normie anime so i thought why not post it in a forum full of weebs.
I came up with the shows everybody watch like BNHA,Kimetsu no Yaiba,Black Clover and others

What do you think are some?

Anime aren't normies, it's the fans. People who watch a few anime and then blatantly argue that what they've watched is the best.

If you meant mainstream, then that's a different issue altogether. Mainstream aren't necessarily all good or bad.

Citing the popularity chart on Mal is incorrect. The chart only charts MAL users, which are more invested than the average anime watcher. There's no fucking way that globally, Angel Beats, No Game No Life and Mirai Nikki are more popular than Naruto Shippuden. The average person that has only seen DBZ and Naruto growing up probably hasn't even heard of Re:Zero, Noragami, or Toradora.

"Normie" anime are almost always kids anime or battle shonen.

There's a few exceptions, Death Note, some ghibil movies, etc, but normie anime almost always fall under those catergories.

Anime on Netflix mostly whuch is the only family oriented streaming site with the largest userbase, same for Amazon Prime .Rest are either niche or oldies or meme generators.

Like others here I’d say it’d be the top 100 popular anime. There’s nothing wrong with liking popular anime but you can’t deny almost all of them have been quite up there in conversations throughout the years and are easily recognisable for both newer fans and older fans.

I guess. Not sure. Don't even remember the topic of conversation now tbh.

ROBOTECH was definitely the quintessential "Normie Anime" of the 1980's...

insofar as the fact that it is a Western-localized hybrid aberration, comprised of three unrelated-but vaguely "similar" Anime series,
mashed up to make one, 80-some-episode long "multi-generational epic"

despite it's highly-dubious nature, this amalgamation managed to maintain a stubborn, hardcore fanbase, -from 1985, to this very moment-
that are seemingly largely comprised of just about anybody BUT genuine OTAKU/Weebs/Anime Fans...

Nevertheless, this VERY uneven "Localization" was among many/most Westerners' very first tastes of Anime,
in however diluted a form it was being offered;
