| I'm too small and introverted for the military, you also have to pass multiple tests, evaluations, and go through a long process just to get in and at the end of it all you could end up doing a job you aren't happy with. |
| As a kid, I always wanted to join the military, but in the end I never joined. Simply by the fact that I didn't agree on the Gulf war or other Middle east wars that the west participated on. We also do have a King, but I see him and his family more like a culture thing. The issue I have with my King and my government is, they send men to the battlefield behind their desk, safely behind strict security. If someone dies, they tell 5 minutes a sad story on the television and after that, they forgot the name of the killed soldier already. I ain't going to risk my life for a fat neck behind a desk, nor any hidden agenda's to generate money like taking over oil fields in the middle East. Not for that 60 grand, hell no. If I fight for a salary, I would rather join a PMC company. I'm thinking to join the reserve, and we have a different kind of reserve in our country. Our reserve is a part-time soldier. A active in duty soldier next to your main job. You have two trainings per week, and you need to complete a X amount per year. You will be a part-time soldier, which means, you help with security, help with nature disasters, secure public places in case of a terrorist attack, security on airports or docks etc. You have all kind of varity of tasks. And the good thing is, you aren't send to any conflict zone without your permission. So, if you don't agree with something, then you don't have to go. Ideal for me, so I can choose what I want to do, and help where I'm needed and not risk my life for some hidden agenda, like the whole failed middle East conflicts. Even though they have only 2 trainings per week, mostly evenings, they perform very well. Based on your skills and training, you can be even placed in a group with full time military personal. They also use the same equipment, like the Colt c7 and Colt c8. I'm thinking to join them, maximum age is 55. |

| Only if all the politicians join the military too and are thrown in the battlefield too, not just sitting in a fancy room giving out orders. I am not fighting for someone's else ego and greed. I am good. Unless it's a total world war that makes all politicians participate too, i am good. The only times that happened for some countries was mostly during ww1, ww2 and certain civil wars. It's not my passion to kill others in someone else's stead, no thnks. I would only go that far for my the safety of me and my loved ones only. |

Also, I didn't get physically fit until after I was over the age limit. When I was younger, I had trouble running a mile. I was a stereotypical skinny nerd. Ironically despite being older I could probably pass the ACFT or PFT or whatever test with some preparation. |

| I always considered it since I was a kid. I think what a lot of you people here don't get is not all people join the military because they love their country. "America is not worth fighting for" and "I haven't fallen for their propaganda" are very ignorant takes because a lot of people join because, depending on their country, they are forced to. Look at Korea. And it is easy employment. Are you fit? Then you can pass the military tests. In fact, kids I knew in high school who joined the military did not give a flying fuck about my country. They just thought it would make a good career, and it does. You don't need to be smart to be a soldier, you just need to know how to kill efficiently and know what to do in the heat of battle. |
