| And we're back ! The re-cap was rather short, in comparison to the last episode where its like what? 2-3 minutes from 1062. More momonosuke scene! And they are always re-using the drum scene whenever we're at the festival. We're getting some drunken Kaido battle with Luffy today. WORORORORORORORO. The animation on how Kaido transformed to his form was weird, but yet fluid, and there are different colouring to him. |

| Finally, a great episode. The animation wasn't anything too special but it looked good enough without it being overdone unlike the animation in the recent Sanji and Zoro episodes. The pacing of the episode was solid too; we got an episode that adapted an entire chapter from the look of it, with no unnecessary parts. The fight between Luffy and Kaido was well done and even CGI Kaido looked decent for once. I still thought that the blindingly bright auras looked stupid, but the rest of the fight was entertaining enough. Easily the best One Piece episode of the year so far for being so well-balanced imo. |
| RIP to Luffy's raid cape 😔 I wish Oda had just made that a permanent part of Luffy's design but alas we'll never see it again after this. Also nice coincidence that this episode came out at the same time as chapter 1085 with the appearance of the Five Elders. |
| Welp we are finally here. The theories that came from this ending were pretty interesting in the manga community to say the least. Oh if ANYONE spoils anything about what the Gorusei were alluding to at the end, I WILL report. I am not trying to act like the internet police i just want it to be a blind fresh and open experience for anime onlys and you should give them that same respect. |

| I love drunk Kaido. He's such a goofball lol. At the same time, it was extremely funny to see how difficult it was for Luffy to continue taking Kaido seriously at first. However, as Kaido pointed out himself, why would he drink and thereby make himself weaker? As far as I can remember this was the first time we saw his Hybrid Transformation which was more than successful judging by these shots here. This vibrant violet/blue in particular made the animation look even more intense and made this scene an absolute eye-catcher.    You can tell the fight is steadily approaching its climax. We haven't seen the 5 Elders for a while and the ending itself leaves me with a lot of questions. We can assume that this is all about Luffy's Gum Gum fruit. Just from the conversation between Who's-Who and Jimbei, you could already tell that it's something very special. When the elders are so afraid of an awakening, even calling it a legend and even giving it another name to hide its true identity, I don't even want to imagine what insane powers it can unleash in Luffy and what it might mean to One Piece world in general. The only thing I have even less of an answer to is, what the connection to the history might be exactly. Aside from that, Zunesha seems to want to pay Wano a visit as well, which I also didn't expect at all. I'm so excited to find out what the secrets of Luffy's fruit are all about. |

| "it's a nice night. a full moon in the sky. an enemy on the earth" yes kaido, await the drums! zunesha is here and what exceptional timing for us to see what's happening back at marie jois. talking about the fruit which hasn't awakened for centuries and the reason behind the government giving the devil fruit another time. it's breathing down our necks!! another well-done episode, animation was spot-on, even CG momo looked as good as ever. this episode had a good amount of purple, which i liked. clash of auras looked cool and drunken kaido is pretty hilarious. luffy hitting gear second was top. and just like that, luffy's fire cape was gone T-T |

| Ah, so Toei straight up showed the fruit that the Elders were talking about.... 💀💀 I mean tbf, even though the manga panel of that part didn't show the fruit, you could probably still figure it out with context clues. And the timing of this episode, where they mention the "incident concerning the Kingdom of Alabasta," is perfect given what happened in the latest manga chapter....oh boy lmao. Drunk Kaido was funny. Bro going through all sorts of emotions throughout the fight. |

| The scene with Otoko writing her wish was much better than how I remember it from the manga, the voice acting and music elevated the scene even more, overall making it more emotional. Next, we had one of the best performances from Tesshou Genda, Kaido's VA, how he delivered the drunk phase was amazing. Animation-wise, we had the god of transformations Naotoshi Shida with us for about two minutes, he was spectacular once again making a very fluid attack from the Kaido. Another point is that the impact of the attack, he can make it look extremely heavy, truly a master at his art. The heavy impact usually is followed by a slow showcase of the state of the opponent after the attack, all of this is what makes him one of the most valuable and most recognizable animators in one piece. We got a new OST in this episode, it played right when Kaido speed blitzed to attack Luffy, and the mood it brought was very different and for a moment made me question whether I was watching the same anime. The most shocking thing was the brief cameo by Tu Yong-Ce, he can be seen very frequently now than before, while this time was not his best work it was a good scene. In conclusion, this was a good adaptation of chapter 1037, while it was not like the previous episodes it was good in its way. The episode could have had better art, but sacrifices must be made every once in a while to make great episodes possible.  |

| I wasn't expecting a Kaido and Luffy-centered episode but I'm not complaining. I will give my thoughts after I rewatch the episode because it's 3 in the morning and I feel so tired. I'm not even going to mention all that stuff with the Gorosei. Just know it's gonna go crazy. Well, I'm sure most anime onlies have been spoilt about it by now... |

| One Piece was crazy good in this episode. I was nervous about how they were gonna adapt Kaido's drunk voice, but I'm not complaining now. I can't help but point out, however, how different the Gorosei's context of the conversation was from the Manga, I remember them being so subtle about that talk that the fandom was left to speculate for weeks. It was obvious here. |

| weirdly i was liking it.... until luffy got hit by ragnaraku and he took 0 damage i realized the devs gave both of them damage immunity and they gonna stall the fight for god knows how long, i feel like they are trying to break the record for the longest fight.....~googles~ nvm no.1 is luffy vs katakuri, that was a good fight holy shit this arc is tera-bad also u would expect at least 1 person from the capital would have noticed a giant floating island but no, that would be too easy also when kaido got drunk i was expecting luffy to drink with him justt for more stall, actually surpised the only part i felt something was about that devil fruit the gov was talking about...... if u tell me its the elephant and they have a filler about it..... |

Besides, everyone is already distracted by the music and festivities to pay any attention to the sky anyways. |
