To put it another way, its the same problem as with the power rangers, as a member of the audience you know the power rangers are never going to lose so any apparent tension or threat instantly evaporates, you know for a fact that the authors couldn't write it that way even if they wanted to. That is generally how fanservice comes across to me, you have a guy getting excited that he's going to an onsen with his crush or whatever but as a viewer I know for a fact that there's not going to be any developments, I literally have a higher chance of something sexual happening stepping outside cause at least then there's no omnipotent force watching over me making sure nothing PG 12 and up happens (copium). The irony is palpable that a wish fulfillment premise is more subdued than reality. So even though I am conceptually for fanservice, and though there's even some series that I think have good fanservice, in general I would rather there was less of it but more explicit and purposefully executed. I agree on fan service being too tame, no wonder I liked interspecies reviewers and redo of healer as it was fan service for adults and not teenagers. |

Fanservice improves anime 100% of the time except for Monogatari series or Kill la Kill in which case the fanservice is the main fault. |

It doesn't take me out of a show that much, however I think certain shows would not benefit from having fanservice. I wouldn't like if something like Violet Evergarden had panty shots or whatever, I think it would not be appropriate. On the flipside I think people shat on Fire Force way too much for the fanservice. |

Sure it depends on the genre, like noir seinen about criminal gang might be too dark for fan service, but we could still get nudity like prostitutes changing or whatever. As fan service could range from nudity or uncernsored gore, but in this case it's mostly nudity, because yet again highschool of the dead without fan service it would have been a forrgetable yet another zombie anime and their take on zombies. But with all of that action and fan service it was remembered way more. It also felt like those cheesy b movies, but better. It is not fan service, it is eroticism part of the core of the story. Fan service, by definition, is outside the core of the story, related or unrelated to the subject of the story. Well you got different definition of fan service as interspecies reviewers and redo of healer are full of fan service. Yes, it can be, but I am not the owner of the truth. Both Ishuzoku Reviewers and Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi are erotic from the cores of their stories. For an example, fan service would be a nude scene in Mushikaburi-hime, because Elianna is pretty and it would be pleasurable to see her bathing. Another example of fan service is the following scene in Mieruko-chan: |

Fanservice is fanservice. It's here to please the fan. It's not because a female character is naked that the scene is supposed to be fanservice. And not every fanservice scene is abt naked ppl. I don't mind naked people for the sake of fanservice. It doesn't change my opinion on an anime. |

Yes, it does. I don't care for the woke bullshit people want to preach these days or how some men want to act more squeamish to female fanservice than women. To me, it's just fiction. Most of these shows are directed towards straight guys with an interest in that type of content. So, if they don't like that content, then they don't have to watch it. Just like any other show. I mean, how can they determine what type of content shows are not supposed to have? These stories and characters in themselves don't have to exist. All of them are made to cater to everyone's entertainment. |

It's not something I have been thinking about much, since most of the shows I've been watching don't really have a lot. But for some shows? Yeah I think it's fine. I'm not much of an ecchi fan, but a little bit here and there is welcome imo. |

No, it doesn't. To me it just cheapens the anime as a whole if you're only getting panty and boob shots when the plot is supposed to be taken seriously. In a casual show with some comedy elements, fan service is okay but give us some abs and biceps, not just ass pls. |

Boobs bounce. Get along with it or just leave it for good . Some boobalergic nerds on the highy and mighty crowd need to get the message and stop whining. Also... sometimes it is good for a deeper characterization. It worked very well for Suguha and the entire Date a Live cast and the DanMachi too. |

Ecchi Geners is one of my top favorite genres, so yeah fanservice here is "must" And for other genres, for example Shonen, action, and school, fantasy, comedy, I'm more welcome for it, but put those fanservice moments in the perfect time, that it doesn't destroy the charm of the anime and its characters or destroy some serious moments. And for anime that has the serious or mature theme, here i can say that the Fanservice will not be a good idea at all, like for example "Monster" and " 3 gatsu no lion" those anime doesn't have any kind of Fanservice (but it's anime so yeah you will probably find a less than one minute scene for a character that are taking a shower) But at the same time, sometimes a serious action, drama and mysterious anime can have a fanservice BUT it's not like your typical fanservice, it's there and you can see the Nippels and the butt, but it's not meant to be shown in Sexual way (i don't know how to describe it) anyway , but it's for serious and the mature atmosphere in this anime, for example : ergo proxy (Re-l Mayer shower scene) black lagoon ( Revy shower scene). |

Like come on everybody knows that porn and fan service are 2 different things. Like when you watch hentai you don't get any fan service. |

EyeAmTheI said: Apolygon2 said: Rinrinka said: Fanservices could either make anime worse or not worse, but never better. I hard disgaree. dress up darling, call of the night, interspecies reviewers and basically every harem series would be worse if they didn't have fanservice. Interspieces reviewers? Yes, definietly. The whole plot is basically about sex, so it is a must. Without the fanservice the show would have lost its purpose. So yeah, if a plot requires fanservice, definietly. In case of the call of the night it was pointless, no added benefit, but it wasn't cringe, so its a pass. However, in case of my messed-up darling, it definietly made the whole show unberably cringey. Why? Because it just made it painfully obvious that Gojou is obviously impotent... Like the 2/3 of the anime MCs, and fuck sake I'm not curious about an antoher one... So in this case it definietly made it unwatchable for me. So yeah, if the fanservice is nothing else than "for the love of god, just fuck already", in that case the fanservice only makes the show worse. call of the night has a lot themes relating to freedom of self, attraction and love. the show would not feel the same without some fanservice. it tonally and theme wise matches it and even adds to it. I think for dress up darling, at least for me, that "fuck already" feeling would exist even if it didn't have fanservice. there are very few romance anime that manage to pull of a relationship without that feeling, specially in these types of shows. if the fanservice makes it worse for you fair enough, but for me it actually makes me feel "the fucking already" can happen. |

Depends on the fanservice. I’m not a fan of dumb fanservice like panty shots and people falling on boobs. But if it’s just normal fanservice I don’t think it’s a problem. Fairy Tail has an absurd amount of fanservice, but it never feels cheap. |

If it's fanservice like having some uncommon character interactions and team-ups or having callbacks to earlier moments/installments in the series, then yes, it makes the series better. If it's fanservice like having random panty shots and bouncing tits thrown around, then no. |
Who are you and why do you show your hostility towards a complete stranger whom you've not once spoken with before. Are you seriously asking to get blocked? Well, if that's what your intent is; to tempt me into throwing hands with someone as lowly and insignificant as you, then i may grant your wish provided you articulate yourself a bit better when trying to spite a person of my wavelength. |

STEAM's GOTY 2024 the Ghost of Tsushima Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 compared to other games released in 2024 is without a doubt a masterpiece. HOWEVER... Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 compared to far older games like Gears of War from 2006 is pretty lackluster and has lots of room for improvement -> 5.5/10 Lol Sony needs to stop sniffing their own farts, their IQ is crashing so hard they are gonna ruin the whole company. |

I personally think that fan service is the entire point of anime. Without it I wouldn't be watching tbh, high school of the dead is a good example of this. That show was and is still talked about due to the explicit imaginary displayed every episode. If you all remember, there was a huge zombie boom in the early 2010's like the walking dead, world war z, warm bodies, and etc. Anime was also quick to hop on the bandwagon during this entertainment era, causing huge waves of zombie animes. the only one really talked about still is high school of the dead. Was it due to the great story, art, or meaning? NO! the tits and the ass sold that show and continues to do so. I cannot go 12 minutes browsing youtube without searching for some high school of the dead clips. It always is on my mind and will do so for the rest of my life. Another example would be shows like eromanga sensei and interspecies reviewers. Both highly talked about shows at the time, and guess what??? they both have lewd scene mixed with morally questionable scenes as well. eromanga sensei really knew their audience well considering the fact all anime watchers are pedophile incels who get a raging boner thinking about incest. You might tell me that my evaluation of anime fans might be wrong, and that the reason why that show exploded into popularity was due to IRONY or some other bullshit. But let me tell you my friends, for anime fans, where there is irony-- there is an iron will to exploit children for disgusting sexual fantasies. This community is driven by pedophiles, and actually lead by pedophiles. One of the most highly exclaimed figures in the western anime world is THE ANIME MAN, and that man has outed himself as a pedophile a long long time ago. Yes you read that correctly, THE ANIME MAN is attracted to anime characters designed to look like a literal child. He has previously defended claims regarding the "1000 years old lolis" saying that legally those characters are beyond legal AGE. But then he also publicly admits to being attracted to big boobed highschooler characters, nay first year highschoolers-- and as we know they are MINORS!!! But he defends that take saying those characters are designed to look adult. So does age matter or not??? Because by that logic, him liking shinobu from monogatari makes him attracted to child-like bodys. I will also mention that he has like 20 figurines of shinobu in his room-- and like all of them is the child version and not the adult version BTW. But that is a side tangent I will not go further into. But yeah I think fan-service make the show better, as long as children are not involved. AMEN /\ |
