I often hear complaints about toxic trends in the community as "twitter influence" or "people from twitter", so I'm wondering if things can change to any degree after that. And what do you think about buying a site in general? |

| I don't think Twitter was previously going around suspending people for anime related stuff, but if I'm wrong then tell me. When people complain about Twitter when talking about anime, it is likely many of those people we complain about don't like Elon Musk buying Twitter and maybe they'd leave it, but I doubt it. That would be the only change if it happened. |

| He should just destroy Twitter from the inside. Twitter was designed with the mindset that people would share small messages concerning their thoughts. While, that is still the case today, it has been built to be a legitimate site for people to discuss serious topics on. Which inherently goes against the design philosophy of the site/app (e.g. 280 character limit). Nobody can have legitimate discussions because everyone else wants to shitpost, and nobody can shitpost because everyone wants to have legitimate discussions. Overall, Twitter can be an interesting and funny site to browse. But I'd say it's doing more harm than good. TL:DR; Hopefully, Twitter blows up like Elon's recent SpaceX rocket launches. |

| Musk probably is aware that his second highest number of Twitter users are in Japan, but does he care? I resurrected my Twitter account just so I could follow my favorite mangaka and Japanese authors. But if Twitter becomes even more toxic in the future, where will the Japanese anime and manga community go? What other platforms can support their content? How bad would things have to get before manga and anime artists start to leave Twitter? But, anime and manga did just fine before Twitter. Something tells me they will do just fine after Twitter. |
| There will be another American Civil War within the next 10 years, and Twitter being a cesspool of vitriol and hatred only makes that prospect far worse and far more likely. I mean, there was an attempted assassination on Nancy Pelosi today just to let you know how far gone my country is due to how indoctrinated American conservatives are by their social media, right wing populism, and lunatic politicians. Considering that Elon Musk is now going to be running Twitter, he will make it worse with his laissez-faire, libertarian-esque beliefs. That will only make every community on Twitter worse, including the anime community, because they will allow people to get away with more shit. While I don't use Twitter, I can only hope that the change in management will do more to deplatform "lolicons" from the Internet. But knowing Elon Musk, they won't. |

| The biggest downfall of Twitter was after the Tumblr incident of 2018. Unfortunately, everyone forgot that this happened and now we're doomed by tumblrites having actually ability to voice their opinions. Maybe they'll massively migrate to another platform after this. I can only hope. |

The only thing that will happen now since Elon Musk owns it is it will either become more toxic or the platform will eventually just tank. Either way it doesn't matter to me what happens to twitter or who owns it because I have never even owned a twitter account or even casually visit the site. Only time I ever hear or read about anything that happens on twitter is if it's reported in the news. The only time I have ever heard anything Anime related on twitter that I saw reported on a news site was a long time ago when Kanye West posted an image of a Mecha catalog with the title "Manga all day". The dude is so brain dead he can't even tell the difference between real Manga and a Mecha catalog from the "Linebarrels of Iron" franchise. |

Musk can't afford to lose any advertisers at all with those type of numbers and advertisers won't stay if you can simply get away posting anything you want on it as big as the platform is. If I was advertising on twitter I wouldn't want to be associated with a platform anymore that would let people post Nazi propaganda, allow use of the N-word, or anything that would drive down my own business. |
