| There's definitely more to Makima's motivation than just making Denji atone for some sins (which don't even sound like sins? Even she says he had no real choice but to kill his father, sounds like it was practically self-defense). She's likely just framing it that way when he asked solely to further his own despair. There must be some ulterior motive concerning his Devil Powers, especially since it's the last thing Devils here before dying in hell. And also, cause if the series big bad's main motivation for orchestrating the whole series is that paper-thin I'm going to like the series less. But with that in mind, rather solid chapter, and the final double page spread says it all. |

| Hmm... So whatever Master Plan of power from devils Makima has... One part is to break Denji's contract with Pochita of a "normal life". Thus, she granted him a home, delicious food, a brother in Aki, a sister in Power, and killed them. While being prepared to destroy anything else of him to break the contract to have his power for her own, I guess... Or to completely or partly punish him for killing his drunk violent father in self-defense as a child which he now remembers from her breaking his blocked trauma of that memory. Damn. |

| So what was behind the door was a memory that Denji had suppressed since he was a child, which was that he killed his father. And the reason why Makima killed Aki and Power was so that Denji would tear himself apart. |
