The tops of his fingers touch her private parts. It's much clearer in the manga. The angle they show it from the show makes it appear further from her than he is.
DKDiabloLicht said: Also how was she okay with him measuring her boobs, in her bikini the whole time, her feet on his legs while sitting like a foot in front of him but then she gets bashful when he's like measuring in front of her and they weren't even touching each other?
He did in fact touch her accidently. Her special place even, thus the reaction.
Oh crap really?? It looked like his hands were inches away, well if that happened then I get it.
It was a very brief moment that a lot of people seem to be missing so i can't blame you. In fact said moment is very obvious in the manga. There's a panel itself dedicated to the touch, while here it was more part of the overall scene so it's a lot more missable.
This is an unpopular opinion but if we're already on episode 2 and the show has nothing else to fill 20 minutes with but with shots of a teenager half nude then I'm worried about the story.
I usually don't mind fanservice but this felt very fetishist in which positions they kept posting her in. It felt very much like we were peeking inside of a teenager's room they way she kept sitting in weird positions to be ogled, idk? We don't even know why she likes eroge but I've already seen the bottom of her feet and between her legs in the same frame? What is this show trying to be?
It's OK I'm wearing sWiMsUiT, girls logic hits me hard right in my pp , I really don't understand how girls think, what the actual fuckk is the difference between them, both are so Dammn sexy and show all of your body except the Nippels and the holy trinity holes LMFAO.

It's actually not the anime's fault if there's fanservice in this episode as it's exactly the same as the original source. It's clearly shown that the manga itself is categorized as ecchi. Also, I can't stand to some people that see fanservice then immediately judge this anime is bad, horny, just for virgins, etc like what the hell people? Honestly speaking, this is how you do a good fanservice, not overly much dramatic but on the point.
Y'all complaining this fanservice like some mega-ultra-sin when frankly speaking, as example, Food Wars is sinner and much more unnecessary unlogical fanservice.
Gojo's reaction also understandable as he is a socially awkward person, doesn't interact too much with other people besides his grandpa, and having low self-esteem suddenly facing that situation. He is such a refreshing one where he is being honest that he feels uncomfortable and he actually showed that he himself just got hard in the end lol.
I want to say, if you can't handle the fanservice in this episode, you can prepare for the upcoming ones or just scram.
What a crazy shit episode, far better than Shuumatsu no Dissapointment already when its talk about ecchiness.
Damn son, really? I am laughing to death when she talked about that 'slippery girls' that turned out to be an eroge with humiliation tag, iykwim. She really reminds for a certain girl that love playing and loving eroge character. Damn, what a nostalgic vibe.
However, its just the beginning of all the wild ride the episode serve. Its obvious everything would turn out to be fun when he mentioned about measurement. Still, they spend the whole second-half into those part alone really out of my mind. Poor Gojo with all of those pure lucky surprise takes. But looking at Marin's embarassment when Gojo touched her part below was something else different, and its good seeing her other expression rather than just that unawareness. Alright. Nice work, CloverWorks. You maybe nail it this time.
Hide and seek is the best offline games on this fatamorgana-called-world-thing. Please comment nicely. I am newbie here.
I am the kind of person who likes a heart warming anime after a long day of work. I hopped on this anime thinking it's wholesome and has no ecchi or whatsoever and I was greeted with pantsu in episode 1 and full swimsuit in episode with some fanservice. I absolutely am disgusted by an anime which had such a good art style and in some days, you'll see the doujins of this scene I guarantee you. Overall, I think it's trash. Instead of a heart warming anime, you get unwanted fanservice. I'm absolutely disgusted.
I actually think the same as some of you guys above. This started quite ok I thought it was going to be a heartwarming story (and don't get me wrong maybe it is in the long run) but the fan service in the second one oh boy. Don't know I'm kind off losing interest slowly. Still I went in knowing nothing about this. The illustration on the charts was interesting and the synopsis wasn't half bad. So I thought hey why not.
I think I will give it a shot with the 3rd episode. We'll see after that
A warrior takes sword in hand,
clasping a gem to his heart.
Jeez, this Gojo kid is trying to suppress the lewd thoughts in his head and not screw it up. He should just focus being serious and take Kitagawa's measurements.
VanishingKira said: Marin fanservice is sexy as fuck tbh, but it feels like she's lacking some self awareness in exactly how sexually provocative she is. Like I get she's passionate about her cosplay, and likely let's her guard down completely around Gojo cause she know he won't try anything, but it still feels like as a female she should be more aware of her own attractiveness.
I agree with this statement and I also immediately thought about it when I saw Marin casually asking Gojo to measure her body parts down to certain parts..
I have no problem with fan-service in this episode and seeing how Gojo tries to survive is hilarious, it's just.. how can Marin do that so casually to Gojo, a guy who just became her friend, in his room, when she has that level of attractiveness!!! T---T stay strong, Gojo
Marin's reaction when Gojo accidentally brushed her .... XD
For Gojo it's for work purposes so he had a lack of reaction but it's hilarious to see him so casually watching porn and not pausing it when interrupted by his grandfather 😂
Another fun episode. A lot of fanservice but it has significance to the story so I’ll give it a pass. Both of the mains are enjoyable to watch and the animation adds a lot of personality to their characters. Hope they can keep up this quality.
SomaHeir said: I love how Marin couldn't careless if she shows off her body. She knows she'll eventually get these "looks" once she goes fully on the scene.
Also, surprised she plays Eroge! What a cultured girl!
Even his old man, couldn't careless, as long as his grandson show at least some interest to girls XD
They even managed to follow the manga 1:1
Brilliant!!
watch the next episode. Your will how much he "doesn't" care.
Episode that plays on comedy and misunderstandings, and inevitably, too, discovers the cards as regards the two protagonists, but from the beginning there was a clear knowledge or almost about the characters of the characters: the shy Gojo and the uninhibited Kitagawa, who it turns out she's not that cool. Excellent drawings, especially regarding the curves of the protagonist, but I think the other part of the sky has noticed it all too well. X°°D
Relaxing atmospheres and very suitable for funny situations. The soundtrack is catchy at every stage of the narration.
A full fanservice episode, but it felt like a lot was happening actually.
lol that was actually too much for Goyou, that bikini was too bold.
A perfect teenage boy fantasy to get into such a situation, Marin just looks too good and is the kindest girl in town. I just would be curious if she doesn't know how attractive she is, nosebleed festival but Goyou kept his cool bravely.
Anyway cool that both came together and he makes her a cosplay dress, I still think it's an odd choice for a first cosplaay... Saint Slippery... omg XD

His reaction was completely normal considering his background and all, damm girl can be so passionate about her stuff that she did not let it bother her, at least until the end, CUTE.
Marin is also a very proactive girl, Gojou will be very busy I foresee xD.
As for fanservice, it was GREAT, as long as they are not don't about it, I won't worry it will impact negatively at all.
I don’t care about the fan service, don’t think of it like that because she had to be dressed like that to take proper measurements but my God, he was so cringe 😬. Her thoughts seem to be of the pure kind. Just wants to dress as her favorite character but his thoughts are definitely in the gutter.
Also, why did his face go red when she had shirt on and just bikini bottoms? You literally saw her in less like 5 seconds ago. 🤦🏻♀️
That scene at the end. 😂
Man anyone who shows up to my house with cheesecake gets instant access. My gawsh.
Interesting episode to say the least. I have to admit, a major step down. I had high hopes for the series throughout episode one. But this episode seemed to just be entirely fanservice. I won't launch into an anti-fanservice tirade, but it was disheartening that that was the focus.
There's an interesting forum on this MAL entry, where someone is asking if this anime is worth the watch or if it's just "waifu-bait", and it occurred to me that most people probably select slice-of-life anime of this vein based on the female characters. And I can totally understand why. But I realized that I was watching entirely for the male MC. I hadn't read the manga, I didn't watch any trailers -- I actually just saw some screenshots of the male on Instagram along with some captions and dialogue pertaining to doll-making. Then I saw that this was a popular seasonal anime, so I watched the first episode. Now that I have some context and understand there's a "mascot waifu" attached, though, I think I see why this anime must be popular. But personally, I was just really hoping it didn't veer in this direction, simply because of my own personal preferences. (Not that these are relevant anime, but with the new Komi-san anime, I almost exclusively watch for Tadana -- and Konosuba, for Kazuma.) I like SEXY waifus as much as the next guy, but sometimes I feel uncultured. Like why was I just cringing for the entire episode hoping for the measurement scene to end. 🤦♂️
Episode 1 was a solid 10/10, but this one had to be a 5 or 6 since it was almost exclusively measuring. Although, I'm sure directing and animating an ecchi scene is an art form in its own right. There's probably some strategic psychology that keeps people watching throughout. All the little nuances and dialogue. I won't accuse those involved of being lazy and just wanting to draw lewd angles over a solid plot -- but I think it's unfortunate for those who are invested in the story.
Watching the MC get flustered was kind of amusing, but some points I just felt bad. Seemed like he was actually in anguish hehe. If only everyone had that kind of willpower. Not saying "Marin", the "gyaru" chick, was in the wrong either. That's certainly the kind of confidence everyone should exude. She had her heart set on something and followed through with vigor. In a sense, she's KIND of innocent too. Not trying to tempt the guy or tease him (too much) -- she was doing what one should do to get measurements quickly and efficiently. It's MC's fault for drawing things out, right? 😅
Now that I think about it, Marin's "no shame" attitude is incredibly realistic given that she's a cosplayer -- or wants to be one. Lustful reactions are exactly what people like her are going to get when they go to conventions, so it helps to abandon any sort of bashfulness.
The ending scene was brilliant though. Openly playing an ecchi game with no shame. Innocence is bliss. Loved the grandfather's reaction.

I said I wouldn't go on an angry tirade about fanservice, but I'm gonna rescind that statement. The more I think about how they obviously tried to cater toward those with a foot fetish, the more I want to complain. 😅 I mean, seriously. It was incredibly obvious what kind of emphasis they were placing on that foot scene.
ozgurpetro said: This is one of the most cringiest anime episodes I've ever seen.
Yeah, I hate to hate, but... I was cringing throughout the entire measurement scene.
FMmatron said: Fanservice is nice and all, but the measuring segment almost overstayed it's welcome. I expect more variety in upcoming episodes.
I couldn't have said it better myself. Fanservice is FINE. I understand that there's value to it. But it "overstayed its welcome". There's a difference between a STORY with ecchi elements -- and an entire episode exclusively featuring different angles of a bikini-clad body.
Mayo-13 said: The measurement sequence was too long and kept making me cringe. Like come on, I know this is an anime, but to go to a guy's house whom you just met and stripping down to a bikini in his room??
The last scene with the grandpa was funny.
I posted before reading the forum, but going back and looking at what other people thought, it seems I'm not alone. This is pretty much exactly what I said. So far, there's been plenty of "good" moments in this anime, and I loved the ending of this episode. But the measurement sequence was TOO LONG, cringe-inducing, and departed from the realism of the first episode.
Like, I thought this story was only marketed as a slice-of-life and romance. If an entire episode is going to be devoted to boobs, then shouldn't there be an ecchi tag? There's gotta be someone way to figure this kinda stuff out before watching. 😅
Polvo_Aranha said: Someone puts a Ecchi tag on it. I have no problem with it, but it would be nice if it had a warning.
And I think that's where my annoyance comes from. I know in Japan, ecchi elements are valued in anime. So I have no right as a western viewer to criticize something that my culture has a different outlook on. My criticism is more toward this story not knowing what it wants to be. Is it an ecchi or not? If it's an ecchi, then load it up with lewd shots. But if it's not, don't go and devote an episode to breasts and thighs.
Marin is really passionate about her cosplay, she even researched Waka's house. Mari is really mature and straightforward. Didn't expect that the character she loves is from an age-restricted game. lmao. She's really cute. Seeing the usual carefree Marin getting flustered is so cute.
Waka's reactions are usual reactions from a boy who's not comfortable with other people especially a girl in her bathing suit. lol. But, the funniest part is when his grandpa entered his room while he's playing/watching the game with moaning girl. LMAO
Jesus dude, just take the damn measurements. I swear to god, there are actually guys like this who think touching a boob is the most intense sexual encounter one can have.
Oh yeah, and that goes for the more delicate parts too. Any to-be tailor would be fucked if they actually acted like this, teenager or not.
As I've noted ad nauseam, I have no problem with fanservice when it's of good relevance to the plot. I guess when you have a protagonist who is addicted to eroge and another who makes outfits to feed that addiction, it's relevant to the plot...
I enjoy Kitagawa's enthusiasm. I just wish Gojo-kun was not exaggeratedly "concerned" as he is, but I guess that will change eventually.
That final scene when Gojo-kun's grandfather walked in on him taking notes of Slimy Club made me burst out laughing, probably because that's every weeb's nightmare.
