| Being on these forums since 2012, I have noticed one common issue that many of us here struggle with: depression. It's actually quite concerning. But anyhow, many of us decide to live with it as well as possible - just surviving, doing the minimum. However, there are a little few who actually consider sudoku, - hecc, I used to be one of them! So my question to you all is: Do you wish for a happier life and hope it will get better in the future, or are you so deep in the abyss that you don't see any solutions and want to commit sudoku? Also, please take this thread seriously. My japanese isn't that good. |

| The idea of committing sudoku keeps flying through my head, although I don't think I'll ever get to that point. I only do sudoku if something happens that it is not possible to fix and the best thing that could happen to me is sudoku. until this is reality it is likely that I will follow a solitary life. because a lonely life is what would make me feel better and not do sudoku. |

| Sudokus fun, I sometimes get the paperback books to do when I'm bored. Ok jokes aside tho I do struggle with depression but it doesn't take up my life and time anymore. I'm at a place in life where I have the resources and the people to help bring me back from those kinda dark places. |

| No problem with that, I think sudoku is pretty fun. It's not really a hard game once you understand the full logic behind it. I've thought about suicide a number of times. But I thought most often of hurting myself instead of killing myself. I don't really know why. Idk if it was linked to my self-harm problem I had. Wich I don't have anymore, at least most of the time. I try to be postive but the world around seems to get more and more depressing. My mental state has been a wreak since Covid started. Killing yourself is only good at making your enemies unhappy (they cannot get revenge any more) and your family happy (they do not have to suffer from your pitiful existence any more); this is a truly pointless thing to do. |

| If something happened to me where the rest of my life would be pain and suffering with no hope for recovery, like I were sentenced to life in prison or I became a quadriplegic or something. But otherwise no I would never. It's stupid but I refuse to die until I've had a significant positive impact on the world leaving my mark and ensuring that I'm remembered. Plus generally speaking I just tend to be a pretty happy person and I also wouldn't want to risk going to hell if one of the many religions that say suicide sends you there are correct. |

| There is a sort of comfort in knowing that there is a way out, even if that way out is permanent. I think this is also what actually keeps me going. I know that I could end everything if I want. But why not keep going on with life for bit longer? You can always end it. |

| It's something that bounces in and out of my mind every once in a while, I haven't really seriously considered it, as the times that I do consider it it's mostly because of a certain way I'm feeling and afterwards I think "No no, this is bullshit. It's for a petty reason. Just go on with your day." Like someone else said in this thread though, if something absolutely awful were to happen that is impossible to fix and there was no better option, I'm definitely doing it. My family and friends care about me a lot and there's tons of things that I want to do in my life, those are the only things motivating me to not do it. If I were to lose all of that then I'd have no reason to keep living so I'd do it. |

| I wish for neither of those things. I have a good life now and I don't really need a change in it. Sure, I'm behind on studies n shit, and get panic attacks every once in a while, but life isn't meant to be "always happy", and where I am at right now is pretty close I reckon. I've never had depression, but when I was younger, yes I felt a lot of stress and there would be multiple days and/or weeks in a row I considered killing myself the only option. When I didn't think I could get in uni and was stressing over exams, when I was already in uni being ill every day for months and wasting my uni fees. More than once I've sat on the edge of a bridge or had a knife in my hand for too long considering the easy way out over and over. I didn't attempt anything like that though. I'm thankful I have a supportive family who were there for me. If you're someone who doesn't necessarily have that and go through something as terrible as depression or hard times, I have much more respect for you for living up to this point. Not trying to be sappy, you should be proud of yourself just for that. It takes a lot of mental determination to do so. |

| I think life is, at the end of the day, a conscious experience. And consciousness has emotional states, the brain a reward system. Without this reward system, I would commit suicide. But to commit sudoku is different. I believe it tries to be sounding like seppuku but sudoku is about mathematics, calculus. So I'd rather commit sudoku and play a game than off myself when I can still have fun. |
