Holy hell... just what all Takemichi didn't want to happen, did actually happen. Everything's going in the wrong direction. This episode really portrays why Mikey became the person he did in the future after all that. Mikey's anger was nowhere near stoppable by anyone. Hanma getting destroyed there proved that. Mikey's eyes are just glued at this point on Kazutora.

Even, Takemichi felt helpless in that situation. This is just beyond what Takemichi would've thought. I don't know what Takemichi's gonna do now. This whole situation is just getting from bad to worse. Damn... Baji.

Well, Takemichi wen't back in time with "DETERMINATION!!" to change things so he has free reins, and he went back in time for very good reasons that should motivate him to act to save the people he loves.
But still it seems like he is a copy of Sakura from Naruto, he is unable to move and lift a single finger. His abilities seem mostly limited to standing still, yelling and crying (mostly). I'm not sure how many episodes this is now that he has been basically Sakura.

So maybe the people he loves doesn't really mean much to him at all, since he can't move at critical points or ~25 minutes thereafter? Or maybe he's just unlucky? Or maybe, just maybe, the writing and/or direction is pisspoor.

I'm done with this anime, the writting is just really getting worse and worse. Each event seems disconnected from the previous one and the episodes are a huge mess. In addition, takemichi is still as much a big useless crybaby. The only good thing that happened in this episode was mikey beating the sht of takemichy. In the end, takemichi won with talk no jutsu. Is the author trying to make us sympatize for kisaki? I hope he ends up killing takemichy that would be nice.

Lol are you mentally stable mate?

There is literally nothing that takemichi could do at this point, he ain't no messiah that can save anyone, he's clearly limited in the amount of stuff he can do.

Also this complete episode was solely focused on baji, only tiny bits towards the end were from takemichi side of view, everything else was focused on baji and his ordeal of saving everyone at the cost of his own life.

Lol dude, I won't ask about your mental health but is your brain OK? Did you ever hear of logical thinking, cause and effect? Did we not watch the same episode?

Takemichi watched his loved ones die (sometimes horribly) one after another, he went back in time with a determination to try to change that fate.
And then he mostly stood still and didn't lift a finger while his friend was getting his head bashed in with an iron pipe, and while he watched everything unfold that he came there to stop. He basically didn't move, just gasped and screamed and cried.

Of course this is done purposefully by the author because the show can't end yet, it needs to keep going naturally. It's just pisspoor writing to have him stand there gawking without lifting a finger for the majority of episode after episode.
Even if it needs to be like that for the story to continue, it breaks the suspension of disbelief too much for many people who watch the show and ruin the story because it's done so poorly.

Let's not talk about the most logical option, assassinate the person responsible for all known present and future evils and who made the person you loved the most die in horrible agony. It's the simplest and most obvious thing in the world for everyone to see and there are chances for it everywhere, but then again, the story would end. And also then the MC wouldn't be a "good guy" by anime logic if he kills the person responsible for destroying everything he holds dear and killing everyone he loves. Again, suspension of disbelief (and dat anime logic).

This was the first episode of the series I genuinely hated. I really don't know what the author was thinking here. The entire time Mikey was beating the shit out of Kazutora, I was screaming for them to check Baji's pulse since there was no way in hell he was dead. And lo and behold, after a few minutes he stands up, comes down and kills himself.

Was that the best solution you could come up with?! "MiKEy DoNT KilL KaZuTORa BeCause I'M ThE One WhO KiLLeD Me". Yeah, the only reason it came to that was because Kazutora gave you a fatal injury! Why would that placate Mikey at all?

Also, were we supposed to feel sad when Baji died? We barely knew his character. All I could think about when he was talking with Chifuyu was "Ok". He is portrayed as some tragic character who sacrificed himself for his friends but the only thing in my mind during that scene was this is dumb. Also, let us not forget these are middle school children. We are basically seeing 13-14 year olds killing each other and themselves. Every time I remembered that, the episode felt even more ridiculous and dumb.

Another thing that pissed me off was why is Tachemicchi such a crybaby? I understand Baji's friends getting sad and pissed but Takemicchi was the one crying the hardest at Baji's death. Why? He knew Baji even lesser than the audience and even that was not a lot.
Damn this episode pissed me off a lot.

Baji was the real homie from the start. My boi went out like a G. I am sad and glad at the same time. Sad bc of obviously Baji and other Toman Members and glad that things didn't went like how Kisaki wanted.

Damn, I really don't want to agree with you, but I do : ) The level of semi-unjustified drama and superhero-ness is off the charts. Not exactly what I hoped this anime to be. Will stick around until the end of this season, tho, in the hopes they get back to doing good episodes like in the beginning.

Exactly, give this man a cookie. The story isn't that bad yet it is adapted way too poorly or the source material sucks. The show gets awfull as it progress.

I only wished Mikey had hit Hanma in a more brutal way instead of cartoon style.

Baji stabbing himself to rescue Kazutora from Mikey, ehhhh?
I think that it would not hurt when Mikey would have been sent into jail and Kazutora can just die, with his reverse guilt switch.

Takemichy failing more and more is he really a protagonist?

I don't think Kisaki is as bad as everyone is telling us, he is one of the smartest gangster kids out there and the golden glasses are awesome.

HE had 5 days to prepare for this day ? what did he do ? he watched tv mostly .. He knew this was coming and did nothing . And the whole fight he is just there to monologue what is happening and shouted the names of the people involved in case we , the audience , forgot :)

"In the past few months since we met, I've shared many memories with Nagato. Though I've also shared memories with Haruhi, Asahina-san and Koizumi, I found that I've experienced more events with Nagato in particular. In fact, every situation seems to involve her. I might as well mention this, she's probably the only person to cause the bell within me to shake the most vigorously..." ~ Kyon, TMOSH

Takemichi couldn't do much to save Baji at that point but still irritates me how we get such long scenes of him just standing while crying. Respect to Baji's heroic selfsacrifice, not trying to diss Takemichi but I wish there was someone who could've saved his life but alas there was none.

Watching Takemichi trying to fix the past is like watching a toddler put a circle into a square hole, he just does nothing right. This episode is literally the exact same as the Draken one, just swap the characters.

First off, Baji got stabbed in the lower abdomen, so chances are the hit isn't as major and he can get saved, but bro just starts crying. He didn't even try to wrap his wound or anything. Just cried.

Secondly, bro just STABBED himself, like really hard. If he was still able to go on that speel to Takemichi, no way would he have died before the ambulance (where is it?????) came.

I didn’t expect Baji to sacrifice himself for his friends the way he did - I had my mouth wide open the whole time. I though that hopefully they’d all live but I suppose Baji knew how this would turn out all along. Luckily for Takemichi, he had Baji’s charm. I don’t think he could have quelled Mikey’s anger otherwise.

If only Baji didn't work behind the scenes all on his own but at least had someone trustworthy in Toman know about what Kisaki was planning.

If Baji shared all this with Draken then things wouldn't have gotten this worse.

But really these kids are so inhuman, the fact that Baji had the time to stab himself and how Kazutora is alive after getting punched and kicked around like that and how Mikey is still so invincible after getting beaten up with a rod, all of these really amazes me.

Baji is actually the MVP of all this season. His moment was so great. That flashback at the end succeeded in being sad. Didn't feel any tears but it was still a great moment. That speech by Takemichi at the end, despite him crying, was strong and great.

Takemitchy is so irritating... He does absolutely nothing. After Kazutora suffers like 150 full-force blows to the head, he slowly decides to step in, geez. I'm absolutely not satisified with the protagonist and how he "solves" things. It doesn't feel like he solves anything, it's more like luck and then he cries and screams, it's so passive, not active at all.

I am always wondering what subtle events will change the future, but I will continue with my idea that the entire show is a time loop. Basically for whatever reason the pathetic excuse Takemichi can’t remember anything each time the loop cycles back around. The loop will end with Takemichi corrupting himself so much that he becomes someone new. So tired of him being ready to change and then being a little beach wondering why everything isn’t changing while he stands there and does nothing

Baji is an absolute beast, he got stabbed deep enough to kill him, but he endured the pain to fight tens of goons on his way, only stopping before he managed to slaughter the piece of shit Kisaki. Knowing full well of what might happen, the man took his own life instead, before revealing that he indeed know of Kisaki's hostile intentions toward the Toman gang. His death is a pivotal shift for the future of Toman and everyone's lives involved, but Baji's death isn't enough to stop Mikey from beating the shit out of Kazutora the Scum.

It is then that Takemichi took upon the occasion to stand between Mikey. This is the first time that Mikey ever punched Takemichi, his personal friend, but damn. When nobody is there to stop Mikey, who else will? Thankfully the charm that Baji held onto all these years came in clutch and drive the point home, the point being, to not fight amongst the fellow Toman members and cease the intention to kill Kazutora, no matter how much this little bitch deserves to be mashed.

Seeing that charm, Mikey's eye changed, his and Draken's always had the most clouded and dullest of eyes, but who knows what the future might hold if Takemichi keeps delivering.

That was my point, the sequence of events was clearly awkward, everything happens for no real reasons except the author's will.
You can't make characters act like this, one committing suicide for his friends without actually developing their relationship or it will feel rushed and cringe. The previous episodes were so sloppy, not to mention the animation.

Takemichi is not left out, he is just a spectator of the scene because he does not want to do anything. He absolutely knows the sequence of events, yet he does not anticipate anything and does not act accordingly. The author describes a character with an IQ of 80, just above mental disability. How can you handle that? Then takemichi ends up crying because things did not change, It's just ridiculous.

You're 100% right.
Thank you so much and preach this holy fuck.
I think people that love this anime have a brain like Takemitchy's or something, that dude really has a brain injury or something and this anime is one of the worst ive ever seen.
You summarized the issues pretty well.

That's it. This show has reached a new low in terms of shit writing. Like... are you for real?

As expected, Takemichi didn't do shit AGAIN but of course plot-kun was there to cover for him. I mean, Baji had to literally resurrect to stop Mikey from murdering Kazutora because our MC was too busy crying AGAIN... and then everyone just goes full retarded so that Takemichi can reappear in scene as the voice of reason and make us believe he actually had any relevance in this shitshow of an arc. Ridiculous.

Not to mention I also can't stop laughing at Baji and his retarded idea of committing modern day seppuku as only available way to stop Mikey from killing Kazutora. Dude... at least tell Mikey that Kisaki is the real enemy here. Don't just repeat it to the only two guys who already knew it.
