| Purple - The color of rule. It has been my favorite color since my earliest formed memories in sentience - from around 2 1/2 years-old. When I aged several years, I started developing a fondness and affinity for it for more abstract reasons other than pure visual attraction. I always felt boxed in by the Red vs. Blue divide. I appreciated purple for chartering a third way; a middle or alternative path. I loved its regal connotations from the Tyrian purple of the Roman emperors' robes in antiquity. Purple seemed always brimming and overflowing with a certain je ne sais quoi. Purple was, is, and always shall remain a color of distinction. It represented a certain arrogance and defiance. |
