| Action/Battle Shounen work on the same formula of good guys fight bad guys and win. Probably because it sells really well. There are other shounen too though, it's just a really broad demographic with a lot of different categories under it. Everything from romcoms to action battle to slice of life fall under shounen. |

| The worst thing about shounen for me is the random power-up bullshit that anyone gets during a fight. The fillers are a thing too. As well as the unnecessary characters just to make the roster feel big *ahem* Naruto, BNHA, *ahem* I also don't like it if an enemy comes out of nowhere without any prior foreshadowing. That's pretty much it. I don't have a problem with repetitive stories of a boy who wants to be the Hokage/Number 1 Hero/Magic King/etch. because its the journey that matters, not the destination. |

| Most stories follow the same way of storytelling/ same plots. In that way, if you watch a lot of Shounen, it might start being boring to you. This doesn't apply to me, but I'm sure that's the main reason. You also have the whole concept of "the power of friendship" that people started to hate, since it's just silly. This is not present in all Shounen anime, but in a lot of them, it is. |

| They seem more predictable than other anime. I see myself predicting what will happen maybe 75% of the time. I think there are some exceptions like HxH though, where it is less predictable. |

| The problem that Shonen constantly suffers is not that it is generic or repetitive, but that it is such a specific demographic that you can already expect what you are going to see without having to see it. This can be a flaw as well as a weakness, since expecting the typical Shonen could generate truthful expectations. Still, I feel like the Seinen is better for that part. Although the Seinen is a risky demographic, I prefer something like that to a show that lacks surprise. I'm not saying that Shonen is lousy, it just seems to me that other demographics have more potential for a certain part. |

| Shounen - romance, thickheaded and doesnt realise when a girl has a crush . Says this and that and does not deliver their objectives. Shounen plot: usually the same with the same theme, school,fight,romance,harem. Shounen- fight, loads if fights, full of muscles, competiton. never give up, a 15 year old character vs a imortal and owning their ass with power up "Never give up" I am not saying its bad but just sooo generic and nothing feels new . I do like shounen but maybe some new ideas should be considered. |

| The worst part of (battle) shounen is not something related to the works themselves but in reality an external thing: their fanbases, how annoying some of them can sometimes be and how toxic is to see how they constantly shit each other to fight for the supremacy of whatever battle shounen they're rooting for. That's the actual worst thing about battle shounen. |
