Claire Miller, a 14 year old girl has been charged with homicide. Just after 1am after calling the police to her home, she told them upon arrival "I stabbed my sister" and directed them towards her sisters bedroom. Her sister, Helen, who has cerebral palsy, was found with a knife in her neck, dead at the scene. Claire was covered in blood and hysterical. It is still not understood why Claire did this. The police are investigating. However, upon looking at her speculated TikTok account, she has a large interest in anime, manhwa and videogames. With 30 videos up of her making memes about her favourite shows. She has videos about Danganronpa, Deathnote, Yuri On Ice, OHSHC, Killing Stalking, Black Butler, Soul Eater, Toilet Bound Hanako-Kun, Saiki K and more. This is the link to her account- https://www.tiktok.com/@spiritsandsuchconsulting?lang=en Her account has not been taken down yet. Her account has now been taken down. However her videos have been reuploaded to Youtube already https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/14138060/who-is-claire-miller-what-is-she-accused-of/ Thoughts? EDIT: I just wanted to highlight, I didn't ever say anime or social media was related to or even the cause of her crime. I thought it was important to note as, if you're using this website, you're an anime fan too. So, it is a point of interest for us. Not many media or news outlets are focusing on her anime fandom. The only article I found which technically does, focuses more on her Tiktok account than her enjoying anime. https://www.dexerto.com/general/tiktoker-claire-miller-charged-with-murdering-her-disabled-sister-1521784/ I don't think her hobby was the reason this happened. Unless the police get her to explain, we won't ever truly know what led up to the horrible crime she committed. We can only speculate with caution. |

Obviously anime here is the problem, there's no chance that the kid suffers from mental disorders. I propose that we should make a petiton to stop the importation of anime in the west. |

What I am saying is that she was not an influencer due to her follow count. It is estimated you need more than 30,000 followers to be considered one. Before the killing of her sibling and even after, her account has not reached that number. |

If you're talking about her being an anime fan and Tiktok user, I added it in. While it is not included in the video or article, I deemed it very relevant due to the fact we are on an anime website. However everything I said was true. It is not necessary or apart of the rules in CE to copy and paste directly from the article you link. In this video you can see her sister. https://www.tiktok.com/@spiritsandsuchconsulting/video/6917398635705617670?lang=en&is_copy_url=1&is_from_webapp=v1 In all the videos, it is the same girl, Claire. |

Anime and Tik Tok likely have nothing to do with it though. Either she felt sorry for her or was jealous of attention she got for her disability or it was just the usual domestic violence causes. |

Reminds me of the 80s witch-hunt against heavy metal and "video nasties". People are always looking to blame something or someone. Anime cannot be at fault but maybe tiktok could be with their dumbass challenges which often include killing as the last one. There's no way someone on the spectrum could stop at 99 out of 100. |

Why is anime or even Tik Tok for that matter relevant to this at all? Its like they are trying to subtly say that watching anime caused her to do this to turn people against anime and drum up support for banning it. And if you don't believe that people are that stupid, trust me, they are. Why don't we just randomly include whenever a murderer happens to be into mountain biking or if they like reality TV shows for fuck's sake. Mainstream media is cancer. |

Yeah, with video games especially it's clear it's bullshit. being flippant, look at the year Mortal Kombat came out, 1992, and Doom came out the next year. There was a lot of hand-wringing about the terrible effects these games would have. Then look what happened next, the US murder rate plummeted over the next 5 years. We got the goriest shit now, in films, games etc, but the murder rate in the USA has dropped to about 1950s levels. So what can we learn from that? Maybe it was pent up rage from bad graphics, since the murder rate from back when Mario Bros was consider the cream of action games was WAY higher. |

No normal person, or even an incredibly mentally sick person, would stab someone because of x, y, or z, and definitely not intentionally. Anything to obfuscate the fact that your little princess does things like this with a regularity. https://www.cnn.com/2017/07/07/health/filicide-parents-killing-kids-stats-trnd/index.html I used this stat because it fits the primary motives of Altruism: The parent kills the child because he or she may perceive it to be in the child's best interest. It may be reality-based (e.g., the child suffers from a terminal illness) or precede the suicide of the parent, as the parent feels it would be unfair to leave the child behind to face the cruel world. Acute psychosis: The parent kills the child based on ideas that are inconsistent with reality. For example, the parent believes the child has been possessed by the devil. Unwanted child: The parent kills the child that he or she regards as a hindrance. Accidental: The child's death is an unintentional outcome of parental physical abuse. Spousal revenge: The parent kills the child in an effort to exact revenge on the other parent. Even if it was based on acute psychosis and she thought her sister was actually L and about to discover her death note. It isn't much different than your friendly Catholic preacher finishing diddling the choir boys and then giving a fiery sermon about how Jesus told him Bill Gates was putting the mark of the beast microchips in the covid vaccines. Well except for the fact one unambiguously presents itself as a work of fiction and the other as a universal truth. I will let you figure out which is which. |

It's a really sad and tragic story. I imagine it is because her sister had a disability. She had this evil thought that she didn't want to be burdened with the responsibility of taking care of her. It's true for people who kill their kids or disabled family members. But in my opinion, it's no excuse to kill or harm others for having a disability. Everyone should be treated with respect and dignity. It's a very sad story. Hope her sister rests in peace. |
