THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth...BUT GOT TOO LAZY.

What if you tried to put God's creation into the hands of mere humans to design an Earth of their own? This is that show.

Each person heralding their own work, and new angel Shimoda acts as the intermediary between the design team and God himself. So many ideas, but only if God approves it'd be good (that is, real life animals THAT ACTUALLY MAKE SENSE). Lots of experiments, but tons of fun.

They even have a testing ground of Galapagos Island? SWEET.

A decent gag manga start of a parody setting, and the art itself reminds me a lot like Phoenix Wright's artstyle.

You know what? This could be relaxing fun following Yuru Camp Season 2 (weekly, that is).

Time for zoology lesson. Starts with long-necked deer and a living sausage. 🤣
Pretty decent anime, but at least we might get more knowledge about animals.

Alright now this is what I like. Not an anime that got me interested but when I watched it, I think it's gonna be one of the titles that I will watch weekly. A team of designers in heaven taking easy to impossible requests from Kamisama, with Shimoda in the middle of it all.

Hey this anime can actually hold itself weekly, the same way I felt about Maoujou. It has the similar three-act storyline, where there are three stories that meshes together in one episode. If in Maoujou it is 3 quests to sleep, then in Heaven Design it is 3 animals to make (or so).

The OP is freaking catchy (seriously it is) while the ED is alright as its own. And yeah I will watch this weekly, why not? It has an alright episodic story, the comedy is decent and passable, and why not learn some animals along the way?

I like Higuchi's design. She's really pretty.

Lmao it was funny when they actually made a living sausage. They even added a chili flavor and made it into a spicy living sausage. This is like what if God and his Angels were hyper advanced beings that designs creatures on a crafting table

Pretty interesting show.

I read a lot of animal science comic-styled books back when I was a kid, and it feels similar to this, but now animated. Feels fresh and I love their comedic interactions aswell.

Can't wait to see more enjoyable animal facts and fresh comedic shinanegans of this series.

Cute. The casually cruel humor saved it from being tedious. Probably meant for a younger audience, as the style of the opening seems to suggest, but I'll keep watching.

Heaven's design team, so god is outsourcing the animals lol. I mean yeah it is a pain to come up with so many designs.

Lmao that looked like a horse from JoJo. The other prototypes were regular animals so nothing to say about those.

I liked this start, this is definitely gonna be amusing.

I thought that it was pretty cute and fun to watch. It's something you'd watch as family or whenever you're feeling... cute I guess. It had little fun fact section about the animals created (real animals) and was overall nice. Never knew that a worm came from a spicy sausage or that anteaters could be so cute.

ok a new anime about animal fun facts. Even on that level though, it feels kind of poorly written. I know structural cohesion isn't the point or a focus, but an entire segment is on how snakes are the perfect apex predator, unstoppable in any way, and are particularly deadly to birds. The eventual surprise 'humorous' resolution to this? A bird that eats snakes. There aren't even any fun facts about the secretarybird except that it looks weird and eats snakes. It instead cuts to frogs, mentioned only in passing. It's such a weird conceit to try to make, and I don't get the impression that the weirdness of it was the point. Anyway It is a somewhat weak attempt at edutainment, if you don't mind your Wikipedia articles occasionally yelled at you.

I like it very much but I'm afraid people will think of this as a fact, when the only thing you can trust is the mini-documentary section. Everything else is scientific creationism, which is a pseudoscience.

It makes no sense but it's fun.
A lot of references to Charles Darwin but I guess Kimura is the biggest joke on his expense - he tasted all the new animals he was finding.
Part of his scientific method, not gourmet addiction or something.

Sure this anime is not the perfect way to study biology (it may lead someone to believe in creationism and... well...), but it's quite didactic on animal facts. There are also some creative jokes, it is very laughable

Sincerely, the seinen thing may be because the watcher needs to have some notion on biology and evolution to not get wrong what the anime tries to say, but I wouldn't say that it's a seinen at all. It's not shonen either, shonen comedy is more like romcoms or ecchi, so it's kinda mid-term. The animation style is quite colorful, but it's not shonen at all either, it's like that for comedic effect.

It reminds me of Cells at Work with its educational aspect, only more boring.

It doesn’t have the action or fun world building that Cells at Work has (albeit mediocre in itself), so it relies on comedy, which wasn’t done well enough for a main hook. The art is mediocre at best and the music might-as-well be nonexistant.

This is looking like a 3-and-out for me.

It's late night anime based on a manga serialized in Morning Two, so it's not exactly aimed at kids...

It's not bad but the tone is a little off. It's like 90% there but just slightly lacking. I'll give it a few eps but Thursdays are packed so I won't be looking hard for reasons to not drop it.

A nice and pleasant anime with some educational benefits thrown into the mix. I like the light and bouncy plot along with things that I hadn't thought about..... like why the giraffe couldn't do well with a longer neck. With all that is going on in the world now....pleasant and relaxing is a nice thing.

I checked out episode one and I thought it was alright. My problem is that this all seems way too fast how they just get it right and it's done. This one might have done better as a 10 to 15-minute anime. Thou, it better in time.

Nah, its just your stereotypical "homo" character that is in like every anime about design, modeling, hairdressers, etc. It's pretty overused i admit. They mostly serve as a comedic relief, dunno why west takes them as something more than that.

Nah, you will see they will actually treat Kanamori like a woman.
And Kanamori is a comic relief alright, top quality tsukkomi.
