I wouldn't even call it simping because by your definition simping is trying to get the female attention through various methods but I can't get the attention of a fictional character no matter what I do. It would be much closer to religion than simping in my opinion. As for the reasons for it, it's nothing complicated. People do it because it's fun and makes them happy. | I think people don't find happiness in the real world anymore. That sounds soo much like a degenerate but I think its true. Simping is often used to people who show their love for what they love so im not too sure about that. From what I've heard simp means being a simpleton meaning you would do everything and anything without thinking about them too much. I think for most people, they see it as a joke to simp for your waifu. I know I do, but if they don't and they ACTUALLY see them as a "religion" then I think something is wrong with them and they definitely need help. Of course we all love cute anime girls the same as we love certain things like food. It's the same reason we love reading and watching movies. Sometimes we just connect with our waifus. We don't see them sexually anymore but as something that we can reflect ourselves upon. In general I think people just enjoy with what they do. Tbh i don't know what im saying HAHAHAH im not a degenerate i swear i also genuinely want to know why people are like this and this are just my thoughts. p.s.
