DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Damn, when Dai really puts the effort in, he can very emotional with his determination. Not bad for this episode and Dai once again shows his heroic effort to help people such as Leona. The guy he fought was relentless, pretty much the opposite of what Dai represents. Dai is like a hero that others can count on although I think he still has a lot to learn. |

| 2 eps = 5 chaps manga. So 2.5 chaps = 1 ep. We will have at very least 100 eps undoubtedly. If they continue this pacing, 130 eps will be a fitting number. My childhood is still going on!!! |

| I don't know anything about the adaptation, but i really like the pacing of this anime. It's completely ready for having such a high number of episodes, and it gives me a sweet nostalgia while watching it. oof, it only needs to improve a bit storywise, but i'm really liking it. |

| I definitively don´t know what to expect from this (mainly because I barely remember seeing the old one in television) but it´s dragon quest, so the characters charm alone is good for me to keep watching (and so far it's entertaining). I didn´t expect that switch to CG mid-fight, but it felt well done, specially compared to the likes of Dragon Ball Super and other Toei anime. Btw Leona is adorable and Dai awakening the Ultra instinct in one episode puts Goku to shame. |
| Good episode, felt this episode a little bit rushed, but was ok overall. Good CG fight, good animation for showing us the Dai's symbol on his forehead and some magic spells, looking forward to see next episode. |

| Dat Ultra Instinct xD Was another really enjoyable episode. The story is nothing to write home about, but how it's told, paced adds to the old school charm. Classic af and I hope the staff keeps doing that well with the CGI. Ending already made me look forward to next week. The thing is, dunno how long I will keep watching weekly because I imagine binging is the way to once we've entered a bigger arc. |

So if there ever will be large segments of characters just talking and walking around, you can fit more chapters in 1 episode. I'd say this will probably have around 100 episodes. |

| Not gonna lie, this adaptation is the anime I wanted the last 25 years since I watched the first one. The adaptation is perfect (and when I say perfect I really mean perfect) except one point. The music. The new composer is great, but it's far from equaling themes from the first adaptation (which were reorchestrations of Dragon Quest video games themes). To me these themes are part of this manga itself, when I read the 38 volumes again I always have them in mind. | How sweet that Dai saved Princess from a miserable death and let that old Brass took care of the evil poison scorpion. Such a shame that the twos betrayer won't get any execution at the place. And Leona, was alright. Was she just said like Dai? Lol. Well, the power awakening time was understandable, even though the process to reach it kinda lame ass. I feel a boredom already. However, i just easily forgot that. Because I had a plenty amount of time to laughing my ass off with those 3D battle sequences. So, as general this is fine, and let see their next episode. A tutorial session for Dai. Good! |

| I didn't like the CG fight but the art and directing is great so far, the pacing is very fast but in a good way, they removed the boring parts. |
| Edit: made some corrections For people who want to know about the spells Sizz = Gira in japanese (low level heat spell and leona used this against the Scorpion) Sizzle = Begirama (mid level heat spell, and this the one Dai used against killer machine) Kasizz = Begiragon (higher level heat spell) Frizz = Mera (low level flame spell) Frizzle = Merami (mid level spell) Kafrizz = Merazōma (high level flame spell) There is also original spell in the manga (not in the games) that are based on Firzz/Mera EDIT: Also, I willl add wind type spells Woosh = Bagi (low level wind spell) Swoosh = Bagima (mid level wind spell) Kaswoosh = Bagikurosu (high level wind spell and Dai use this in this episode against killing machine) Also, I will add explosion spells because it was used Bang = Io (low level explosion spell) Boom = Iora (mid level) Kaboom = Ionazun (high level) badabass said: How sweet that Dai saved Princess from a miserable death and let that old Brass took care of the evil poison scorpion. | This episode is was way better than the previous one. So Princess Leona arrives on Dai's island to perform a ritual in the Earth Cave for her 14th birthday and Dai has to escort her to the cave. I had a feeling those royal mage was up to no good as he was the one who unleash that Evil Scorpion on Dai and the Princess. Dai's desire to save the princess allows him to tap into his own magic that allows him to use a series of spells against the Killing Machine. The fight between Dai and the Killing Machine was pretty good and the CGI was used perfectly in this scene. It seems like Dai's magic is triggered by his emotions like Gohan from DBZ, so it might be awhile before we see him use it again. |

| looks like this will really be a hybrid of 3D and 2D animation at least the 3D parts are not low frame rate ones like other anime have the power of 3D is camera movement anyway and it looks cool |
| The fact that these CG fights don't ruin the tension or pacing of the show I think is good standard that Toei has put some money into the CG of the series. Outside of the flyby shot in the first episode, I haven't thought any of it was *that* bad. For me, I honestly think I'm beginning to look forward to seeing how they integrate CG into these fights. |

| Same as everyone, the CGI fight was better animated than the first episode. The pacing was really good and we will probably have around 100 episodes. | Not bad but the jumps between CGI and normal anime is irritating, although the CGI is pretty darn good the drawing style is way too different. |

Fanboying aside, this episode felt a little bit rushed in my opinion. Not a fan of the colour scheme compared to the old version but I might get used to it with time. The colours make this look more childish than it actually is. |
