Ye, this was the big day Sawamura has been waiting for. He's so fired up, there's even blue aura around him lol

Glad to see the hard work paying off, at least to get to where he is now. A lot of hype put into this episode with only a few more left ;_;

In one scene shortly after Furuya spoke his message from coach, you can see that Sawamura is about to cry, there're tears in his eyes but they're not dropping yet. (It's when Miyuki said don't worry and Sawamura think 'is it that bad?')

A complete disaster for Sawamura which was pretty expected considering how he was acting in the last episode.

Nothing unexpected so far. The game just started and Sawamura's already in a pinch. Can't blame him thou, he finally got his ace number so he's really trying hard to bear the responsibitly which is backfiring him.

A new chapter begins in the growth of Sawamura's character. The opposing team may have rattled Seido's momentum, but Sawamura needs to cope up the pressure of the Ace. Now he'll understand what Furuya went through. Although he has self burdened himslef with the ace no. and is not playing what he was during the practice matches but still his team mates can bring him back. With added responsibilities as the Ace he will have to bring back his unique A game which he's known for. It's just another hurdle that Sawamura needs to overcome. His journey as the ace has just begun!!!

This series better not end with our boy Eijun losing his first game as ace.

Sawamura being really happy with what Miyuki said and with Chris-senpai's message before sleeping was so cute and wholesome. I'm sure he is more motivated than ever for the quarterfinals. I know I would be. lol And I love his avatar with the ace number. xD I liked that scene with Kuramochi as well. And I didn't expect Sawamura to start like Mei, I also knew that coach was bad news, but I didn't expect things to start like this. Sawamura got a strike, Haruichi got an out, but it's too nervewracking. Here's hoping Sawamura can get back on his feet in the next episode and pitch like he can. Oh, and Furuya calling him Eijun during that timeout was also nice. xD

Tripping up early and finding those mistakes is not really a bad experience, just goes to Shows that Sawamura still have a lot to learn and being an Ace is just the first step.

But it was frustrating to watch though.

They just got to let Sawamura actually have a good first game for once after a big change. I know it’s good for the story or whatever but it’s so hard to watch

Ah come on, bro this show is pissing me off. Sawamura has already been through so much to get to where he is now, don't make him choke on his first game out.

It's ridiculous that he would be choking like this when he's already been in way tougher situations in the past. This should not affect him to this extent. Seems almost forced if you ask me. This isn't even a top school, it's a no name school whose only advantage is the coach.

He got ultra nervous after all and ended up doing badly.
Hope he's going to shit his sh*t together before it's too late.

Actually to be honest I expected them to stop this season when Sawamura gets the Ace. And then start new season when the summer starts

Thanks for telling me! :D

Yeah, they dodged the chance to finish the season with a nice flavour by leaving us this sour taste with these last few episodes (._.)"

Its Sawamura's first match as an Ace so ofcourse he is under pressure, but honestly the opposite team's coach has got me much more worried. On a positive note, remember when Furuya called Sawamura Eijun for the first time when he was speaking to Okumura? Yeah my reaction was exactly the same as the 3rd years๐Ÿ˜‚

I don't want to say it was unexpected as being an ace is new to him but damn do I hate to see Eijun choke with throwing his pitches. I hope he won't be like Furuya and only get better over.

Ikr. I understand it's for the story but can't they just give Sawamura an easy start FOR ONCE?? It's so hard to watch.

- NOT your usual shounen anime
- Pure comedy? DEAD WRONG
- Treat Gintama as SoL/weekly sitcom especially earlier seasons
- Ep 1 & 2 are for manga readers
- BIG patience for its 'slow' start

"Balls will come flying your way, so I'm counting on you guys!"

When Eijun starts the game with this line, I just know that everything's gonna be okay. Haha! Love his whole speech! XD

But he didn't take deep breaths and didn't smile like an idiot. I got worried immediately. Yup. I was right. :')

Glad Furuya came and loosened things up! He even called him "Eijun" haha! So cute!

Kataoka's mentor is a scary opponent. Sasuga.

Are you serious? Why does the author loves to make Eijun screw up in his most important moments. He’s been playing so well all this time, and now you’re going to make him screw up for the sake of drama. For once, we can see Eijun succeeding and impressing people as the new ace, but no, the author decided it would be better to ruin his special moment for him. I’ve been watching so many episodes, seeing Eijun slowly improve as a pitcher, and you go and take all this away from him instantly in one episode.

The author never made Furuya fail at anything throughout his debut as an ace, but with Eijun, of course, he wanted to make him look terrible. I was expecting him to be exhausted like Furuya was during his first game.

Damn, I thought my boy was no longer inconsistent. I guess he’s still a bit fragile and can’t handle the pressure unfortunately. He should bounce back hopefully

Don’t care for the ex coach plot

My favourite pitcher is Hongo I think

That man is the most badass cool consistent pitcher in the whole show

Expected but still hard to watch when he's been pitching so good so far.

Now it's Sawamura's turn to get in on the ace syndrome. Hope he'll recover soon, watching him self-destruct after all this growth is just painful to watch
