Lastly, why did you drop one piece around 400 if you can tell me. You've finished shin chan, that's awesome. Additionally, you didn't have favorite anime/manga listed. I just forgot to rate Baki, it was a solid 7 show, very over the top and very entertaining :D About RedLine, i feel like the movie had some of the most amazing animation ever produced but it's story wasn't that strong and i am not all that keen on cars and it's setting. I dropped One Piece after the big fight and Ace's death, last episode i saw was when the crew reunited after separating for training. I got really tired of it's slow pacing, terrible still framed animation and it's ridiculous looking filler characters that kept appearing. I am not sure how i setup a favorites list :( |

I'm one of those that likes to complete everything I start. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Vampire Knight is a good anime. Fairy Tail as well. Tho admittedly, they are series I watched early on my anime career. Even if you find it not understandable, you can still appreciate the amazing atmosphere, unique themes and the artistic trip it provides . And yeah, the score comparison is a nice feature. Though you kinda have to learn how to use it -- for example, given my somewhat odd choice of anime repertoire, I've learned that I often end up with no compatibility score for a lot of people; furthermore, a negative compatibility with a someone who's seen a comparable amount of anime as me (i.e. a few hundred) probably means that that person has more similar tastes to me than a positive compatibility with someone who's seen over a thousand works. End of Evangelion...I felt it ruined the atmosphere of the series and betrayed its themes, and I didn't appreciate the nihilistic self-parody that is that one song -- compare to the impressive interface-screw TV ending whose extraordinarily unusual format manages to conclusively top the conflicts with the Angels that had come before, and continuing with the theme of character development...and is capped off by a pair of touching, uplifting remixes of the opening theme. On top of that, it dealt a really raw blow to my favorite character. (Then again, I did start off my experience of the Evangelion series by reading this page, before I even watched the series (let alone the movie), so that does explain some of my perspective.) I'm aware that my opinion of EOE (and probably also the TV ending) is in the minority, but it is what it is and I stand behind it. Don't worry, I don't demand that you agree with me; I'm just explaining myself. I was being silly by declaring that to be a meaningful measure of "superior taste"; it was just something convenient for me to disagree with (and do so genuinely, with having watched the thing in question -- note that some of the other shows where I starkly disagreed with your ratings (Minami-ke, NGNL, Assassination Classroom) are shows I dropped). FWIW aside from that, it seems for the handful of shows that we both rated the scores aren't even that far off. I'm actually kinda heartened to see you say you just outright really appreciated Naruto. I didn't like it that much, personally, but I've found a number of people who like to rag on people liking famous shows like that (SAO is a popular target but Naruto isn't immune), which is a practice I disagree with. (Also apparently I'm the only other person on the internet to use the phrase "warbly campsong", besides the Brothers Chaps.) |

| 132.4 days should be enough experience and you should know by yourself what anime means to you. I guess there are not that many surprises ahead of you. About taste - from what I am seeing your interests look equally distributed to all genres, subgenres and settings. Maybe a bit of lack of shoujo and josei. |

Hhahah i couldn't finish KxS because i felt it showed me all it had and at some point i rather just stop pretending and watch hentai or read doujinshi. It's one of the reasons that i don't really care about ecchi shows that much, hard to get excited about the "accidental" boob grab when you've seen double penetration by demons and the usual train rapes. I watched Shin Chan every now and then to relax, it's not something i can binge watch, so it took me like two years to finish. Loved it :) |

And from my perspective the mecha shows are usually about the people who use those technologies. Gundam The Origin - prequel to the main continuity. It has relativity little mechs in it. Even the titular Gundam appears only as blueprins. Gundam 00 (two seasons and a movie) - a stand-alone title in a parallel world from the main continuity. Mix of ideas of older Gundam shows and even different franchises (like for example they took some ideas from Full Metal Panic). Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt: December Sky + Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt: Bandit Flower (two "compilation" movies that actually contain more footage than the ONA series) - fast paced, brutal and beautifully animated. just as a showcase what is Universal Century about. Kidou Keisatsu Patlabor - very different from traditional mecha. More of police procedural and later on a political thriller. I recommend only Kidou Keisatsu Patlabor OVA (1988) 1-7 and Kidou Keisatsu Patlabor the Movie 1-3. There is another alternative Patlabor: On Television + OVA but it's somehow subpar. Suisei no Gargantia (one season and OVA) - not a typical mecha too (ignore the belly dances tho  ). Tiger & Bunny - not sure why this is tagged mecha. They have power suits and all but it's more of a superhero show. Macross Frontier - it can be watched as a stand-alone. Zone of the Enders: 2167 Idolo + Zone of the Enders: Dolores, I - sci-fi, mecha, spy thriller and family drama. |
