| This guy's accomplishments during his childhood are quite scary. No wonder his father decided to disown him. I'm also digging his design. He and Kin'emon had their fateful meeting at the end. An overall nice start of the flashback. |

| I don't know what I was expecting from Oden's design to be, it seems like he has always had that weird hairstyle, just like Tekking101 and many others predicted, his faces looks like your traditional Edo-period Japanese ragrat, but still a beastly looking man. Also, Kin'nemon looking swole-ier than ever in his prime, it seems he got married to the woman he has always relied on at the end of the day, she's a keeper. Oden's father too has a somewhat of striking design, rocking the fancy beard and stashes combo. The way they kept building up Oden by stating his accomplishments as he gets older reminds me of the Narrator putting respect on Whitebeard's name when he had just died. Also, the man is so savage that he boils Oden on top of some family's loved one's ashes? That's a bold one, I wonder who will he transform from a bratty thickheaded bully to the man everyone respects to this day. |

| Oden certainly is.......quite the character. Seems like he's been an interesting individual ever since he was born. I like him already though, and it should be cool to see how he went from this kind of person to the man who became so respected after his death. And like SwordRed already mentioned, that Denjiro kid looks exactly like Zoro's master, I thought it actually was him for a second lol. |

| Was the ending segment of this chapter where the mountain god comes to the village inspired by the character Oolong. I don't know why but when i read this i thought of this moment in Dragonball. I mean everything matches, the kidnapped girls for a harem, the pig like giant terrifying the village. Or maybe this goes deeper into japan mythology? I don't know. |

I love it when One Piece takes time for it's flashbacks, like they're an arc of their own and judging by the pacing here it suggests that we're in for a extensive backstory. | Oden had charisma for sure at least, lol. And I actually love his design, I thought he was going to look as bad as Raizo, Ashura Douji or some of the Wano guys (well, most of the Wano guys). The harem revolt was kinda hilarious, and he definitively looks like someone who would fit in Roger's crew (specially because all of Roger's buds so far have been troublemakers, except for Rayleigh). |

| Great chapter. Oden is the man, damn he is literally the definition of a living legend. Harem war, like literally legend status right there. Interesting observation that everyone made about Denjiro, if that really is Wado Ichimonji I'm curious how Denjiro and Koushiro are related if they aren't the same person. I'm also curious how Wado Ichimonji made it all the way to East Blue. Kinemon was quite the thug during his time eh? xD Looking forward to more, I hope this flashback is more than just 2 or 3 chapters. |
