I tend to wash mine every month but at times it feels like I should do it every 2 weeks. I'm a big tryhard so all the sweat makes it feel like I'm moving my mouse over sandpaper.

I clean it with a wet cloth when I do my weekly roomcleaning, but it's not a special thing I do. I will say though, on a similar note, I get really sweaty palms, so I end up cleaning my gaming controllers after almost every session. It ends up being this disgusting handcheese that's hard to clean off if I let it set.

Oh yeah wiping peripherals after every session is a must.

I mean, I wipe both my mouse and my mousepad, also my keyboard, once a week, mainly due to dust. How do you wash a mousepad? Do you just use water under the tap?

Warm water and washing powder. I just spray some of it and then use a cloth to rub it in, then I leave it outside to dry.

Because dirt gets in the way of your mice and it produces that nasty drag.

I have a Ranma-chan 3D boob mousepad, but I'm afraid that if I wash it, the colors will fade.

I have an aluminium one as my laser mouse doesn't always work on soft mats. I only wipe it down when I spill a drink on it.

My mouse is in a worse state, I regularly have to scrape gunk off it.

I have sort of a desk/mouse pad sewed for me. Every 3-4 weeks or so into the washing mashine np.

Keeping the mouse nice and clean is a bit more of a problem.

Umm, no? I can even count the times I've cleaned my keyboard. And I've have a PC since I was 8. Never cleaned my mouse or my mouse pad. I only clean my keyboard when the buttons start to feel stiff from dirt, dust and food crumbs. My whole desk is a mess, actually. All types of trash and items that I don't really use. I'm not that clean.

I'm far from clean as well but I still clean my peripherals from time to time. I do my keyboard every six months because if I don't clean it all the LEDs get clogged up and I find it hard to type in the dark at times. My desk is cleaned when I clean my room which is never lol.

I don't actually use one that much; I lay on my bed and put my laptop on m chest...so the spot on the bed is the mousepad lol.

I bought a very cute Digi Charat mousepad long ago...and I can't find it. xD;

I just use card papers, that come in boxes and stuff. And when it gets raggedy, use a new one from the stack of old papers.

I do play videogames however and I've had no issues despite having never washed my mouse pad since getting it. Has had zero impact on my ability to smoothly move my mouse or stop it, I don't get why one's mouse pad would even get dirty in the first place? Dust maybe but that doesn't impact anything, you'd have to be like eating food over your mouse pad or something lol.

Dead skin combined with dust and sweat takes the smoothness of a mouse pad away. It's especially easy to feel it if you do a lot of competitive shooters in which you relay a lot on your muscle memory. So when you are trying to pull off a sniping shot that dirt produces drag which hinters your aim.

It all depends on a person. While I preffer it being as smooth as possible someone else cares not if his pad is smooth or infested with dirt.
