| Yes. Even from the word, we know that it's necessary. It is made to serve their fans with something "ero". But, they (those production team) need to consider many things before adding that fan-service thing. Starting from, the series genre, plot, audiences, etc. More importantly, as long as fan-service doesn't ruin one great series with a decent plot, it's okay then. |

| As I already said in another thread, of course is necessary. Do you eat cereals without milk? No you don't right? (if you do then you should perish) same thing, anime without fanservice is like cereals without milk. No one does that, and no one should do it. It's a sin tbh. Or even worse, you can say that anime without fanservice is like putting the milk BEFORE adding the cereals. If cereals without milk is a sin then putting the milk before is your way straight for hell. |

I used to put some tiny text saying "mandatory text for filling purposes" or something like that and got a warning and then get banned. Sometimes they're okay with it, sometimes they're not for some reason. It's up to mod's whims. Edit: Oh sorry, realized I didn't highlight the entirety of it. Guess I'll add some tangentially related thing next time. |

| Obviously, it is not necessary. That can be said for most things. I'm not generally a fan of fanservice, but there are shows that aren't made for me and that's ok. Certain works will focus on it, certain works won't. |

| In my personal opinion, if a series that is not (let's say...) fully oriented to ecchi, I believe that is has a weak (or non-existent) storyline. They usually rely on showing sexy characters (doesn't matter if male or female) just to cover the fact that their characters doesnt's have a credible personality or a good development, or their story isn't so interesting, or it isn't so well written enough to catch your attention without showing boobs, butts and cringey (and forced) "sexy" situations. In short... No. It isn't necessary, if you're not an ecchi series... |

| I can tolerate it until a certain point (like I did in Konosuba, it surprised me first but I got used to it, it even became pretty funny), but some animes I've watched (Fairy Tail, and obviously Highschool of the dead) have WAY TOO MANY fanservice But I absolutely wouldn't be bothered if, suddenly, there were no more fanservice in animes. I think it even would made them more enjoyable to me, without feeling "ugh" each time a pair of boobies shows up Plus, I'm not the kind of person who watches yaoi/yuri/hentai/whatever you want stuff, so I'm also pretty disappointed there's only female fanservice in most of the animes, and no male fanservice |
| Well.... for anime like Ishuzoku Reviewers that is necessary ofc. What's the point of watching it if there's no fanservice at all???? I think it depends on the genre. If it's something like Shoujo Ai.... then i'd die if there isn't any yuri fanservice in it. If there is an all girls cast, yuri fanservice is needed as well >:(( And also, in harem anime, fanservice helps the mc to strengthen the bond between himself and the main girl, so yeah i guess it is necessary '-') Especially when the girl is slow, timid and shy... or even dense and unaware of romantic feelings. Fanservice is an allmighty device to open a new route for potential harem girl. It's like opening a whole new possibility in an unknown deserted land..... Especially when there are blue ball moments like But if we're talking about Shounen, Seinen, Horror, Thriller, Action, Mystery, and the likes. Fanservices isn't necessity. It's only there to refresh the mood of the story. But imagine having fanservices in horror anime like Ousama Game did.... that'd be disastruous. Karma is real.... |

| Well no it's not, but having really smooth and well-choreographed fight scenes isn't necessarily needed either. It's there because the people who made it decided they wanted to appeal to the group that likes those kinds of things. So the only way I see them stopping is if they start trying to appeal to another demographic than their current one. If they were to do that and make anime more "family-friendly", then I think it would on some level stop being the anime we all enjoy. |

| Yes, I love fanservice! But awkward forced ones are a big nope like with what Fire force had going. Gridman and FT tho had nice fanservice. I dare say I only sticked watching Gridman for Rikka fanservice. |

| It depends on the show. In a harem anime it can make sense to include fan service, but in a rather serious anime I find it most of the time disruptive to see fanservice. To be honest, I can't take an anime with obvious fanservice seriously. So I can tolerate it in a comedy anime but not in a quite serious one. Maybe there are some exceptions. But I could have never watched MONSTER with fanservice. |
