K so I had to make an account cuz I absolutely needed to ask this. Would Chika have gone over to You's house in the middle of the night to check up on her if Riko didnt leave? |

Probably not before the competition, but some time after the competition. However, I'm pretty sure that eventually Chika would have talked to You about it. Anyway, I think the drama was really well done. Even though You started as one of my favourite characters in the first few episodes, as Riko and the others came in I completely forgot about her (I think a lot of people did). I think that makes You's point of view incredibly natural because even we are guilty of forgetting about her. |

It was like her being a standin for Rico rather than being herself and Chika would be dancing as if she was Rico. While it did work it made her feel like she was just a replacement. Instead of doing that both Rico and Chika suggested that the steps be reworked by both of them, symbolising that Chika and You have a unique relationship, just as Rico and Chika do. I thought it was realy well done. I did say "ik it was for the symbolism" so. Structurally it made sense for the overall message. But re-working it the day before like..lol, but like I said in my original post, I recognize it was part of the overall message of the episode. |

And I am betting that Riko would not want them to give up on the competition just to watch her perform. The bonding feeling was conveyed subtly through their performance, I think the 'reaching out to my friends' gesture towards the end was awesome. Riko could've just rejoin them after that. At least this issue was vastly improved as compared to Kotori's drama in the previous Love Live. (Kinda feel like the creators were trying to right this one lol) Hard to debate with this one but for me I like how things are pushed into my face like this one lol. BRING ME THE DRAMA. But I don't think it's overly done, due to the fact they resolved it in one episode. Personally, I feel like the theme of the actual "live" was a lot stronger in the first season of LL which is what I think was being compared here, just in that Muse did more to further their idol career, while aquors focused a lot on inter personal drama. That being said, I enjoyed the drama and relationship building they put forth way more than Honoka's "angsty period" and the Kotori drama, which fell extremely flat and was entirely too dramatic. I think whether or not you enjoy the drama over the more direct idol activities of muse in se1 will make this a hit or miss for viewers. |

That ChikaYou development was very good. I was feeling bad for You because they basically wanted her to be a Riko replacement. And despite somehow managing to improve in the dance, You didn't feel happy. Must be tough for You to watch Chika have so much fun being Riko's partner and sharing memories as an idol. Worse part is Chika refused to join a club with You and here she's having a blast being an idol. It's great to see them make up and reignite that bond they have for one another. Glasses You looks so cute. She's even got them defense skills, poor Mari. Ruby falling down twice in the pool xD Overall it was a fantastic episode. |

I am not sure if I recalled correctly but I believe this can be explained by the different leaders between μ's and Aqours. Honoka was much more competitive then Chika, and it was because of her drive and determination that everyone followed her and made it to the top. Whereas for Aqours, this role was replaced by Dia who was among the last ones to join. Then again, we have 2 episodes remaining, let us see how they maintain their push towards their goal. |

Whereas for Aqours, this role was replaced by Dia who was among the last ones to join. Then again, we have 2 episodes remaining, let us see how they maintain their push towards their goal. So, In regards to your idea, although Honoka had drive, I don't think she is the same as Dia. Dia seems to have first, been the main antagonist, but eventually ended up taking the role of making up their training schedules, which if I remember correctly in LL! went to someone like Umi? Or a different party? Basically, if memory serves me right, Honoka was not in charge of the training schedules, if anything, Nico knew more about idols than she did, and for the most part, they show made a big fuss about "why" Honoka wanted to be an idol in se1. I agree that Chika and Honoka are not identical (Chika IMO is a lot more reasonable lol), however I think people still respect Chika as the leader and look to her to make final decisions, but allow Dia to educate them on idols, as she knows the most about muse compared to any other group member. Chika also understood from the very beginning why she wanted to become an idol. I don't think she has any less drive or determination, I think what's mainly stopping her from succeeding is the fact that her group is just finding their own collective "voice" and the idol industry in the show was explained to be over-saturated with idols, i.e. it's just way harder to move up the ranks or make a lasting mark like Muse did, especially when there are people with much more impressive skills, like the duo (i forget their names) who Aquors met when they first went to Tokyo and had their first competition. Like, the path was much easier and more direct by nature in LL!. Personally, I think it'd all be a little more cohesive if in the last few episodes, they'd given a little more time to "idol activities", but I don't think they are too an awful job there's just A LOT more drama compared to the first LL!, so if a viewer doesn't like that, then it'll be hard not to feel like there's less idol actives going on, because about a good half of the focus of this season has been to interpersonal relationship drama. Anyways just my 35 cents lol |

Each new song better than previous, performance in the end was really great, and did you guys hear a new song "Sora mo Kokoro mo Hareru kara" by Chika, Riko and You, which is bonus for 2nd blu-ray tv? I'm crying how beautiful it is. I also was worring than Riko and You could become foes or something, because of You's jealousy of Chika, but seems like everything ok, Aqours still a big lovely family. ^^ |

Well said. School idols were not as much of a thing during the original LL!, and we were told in Sunshine where the popularity shot up after μ's won the first LL!. μ's really did had some sort of a smooth sailing after that dramatic Honoka fall in S1. They defeated A-RISE!, supposed the most popular school idol group as early as S2 episode 3, then went on and on again until episode 12 where they had their success. I don't really recall anymore bumps in S2, other than the snow piling up in episode 9. They also made lots of bonding among the μ's members in S2, like how Yume no Tobira was born from that jungle camping of theirs, and Snow Halation was born from each of them coming up with a word to complete the lyrics. In my opinion, Sunshine are doing things the opposite way now as opposed to the original, bonding first, idol activities later. It might be a bit harsh saying it this way, it's not like there's zero bonding in LL! S1, and zero idol activities in LLS!. But comparatively speaking, and how my poor memory served me, this was what I concluded with. Once again, You-chan is my all-time favourite this season. Costume crazy, a bit crazy, but also emotional. Her troubles with Chika were made clear from the beginning, which gave this episode a fine resolve. No love for Riko for me, other than membership... Loved how You made hilarious illusions of ways to confess to Chika, which were clearly romantic in her head. Would love to see You some more struggling with more love-LIKE emotions. Loved how Mari was making her talk about it. That aside, yes, I am also wondering about the Love Live component. This episode was, thankfully, not that melodramatic. I can't imagine they are actually winning Love Live yet, that would be ridiculously rushed... at least getting through the preliminaries, and as some people said: seeing µs, like we saw A-Rise? :D |

I am really glad they stuck to Chika and Rikos relationship being something special in relation to Chikas relationship with You and the other characters. Obviously Chika still cares greatly about You, as she should, but they was able to preserve the good standing relationship between Chika and You while not lessening Chika and Rikos relationship. This episode made it clear that Chika and Riko do indeed have a special heightened relationship. |

Personally, this episode is one of my fav episode of all episode. no exception. not only because my fav girl got a freaking main spotlight from the beginning of the episode but the way they executed or made it, it was kind cliche but regardless of that, this episode was kinda touching to me. probably because of how they made it. and put that aside for a moment, i really like YOU in term of character personality too. her character is the very very simplest one of all character in this anime which is i really like. just a normal average person, moreover has an upbeat personality and kind too. short hair and wear glasses. god freaking dang it. that's my type. and one more thing and the last thing i want to say, why this episode looked touching to me, it was because of her jealousy. her jealousy is because, she always got rejected by the mc everytime she invited her into a club. and the her gloomy face hit me pretty hard at that scene tbh xD overall it was a great episode to me. looking foward to the next episode. |

-Is this actually happening -It doesn't seem like that was some sort of daydream or something at the beginning -Huh, Riko wasn't there at the meeting after the OP -Wait a minute that pool looks extremely familiar -If this is going in the direction I'm thinking of, then this should turn out to be pretty interesting -Judging from the choreography with You and Chika, it's likely what I'm thinking of -You with the suplex outta nowhere -The end of that conversation was actually pretty heartwarming -Actually this may just be a You arc/episode unrelated to any of the songs -Chika's such a goofball -Pretty standard performance at the end, and it definitely wasn't anything that I was specifically expecting -You solo for the ED, and she sings a lot better than I remember. Maybe it's just because she's in a lower register than usual and sounds a ton more comfortable with the notes. Not a very noteworthy episode in my eyes since the only really memorable moment was the end of the conversation between Mari and You. I did like how they went through with the Riko thing without dragging it out, though. All the setup for it last episode was pretty enjoyable for me, and I'm glad they didn't try to come up with some last-minute way to get Riko to perform in the preliminaries. The training sessions, as well as the choreography of the insert song, seemed to foreshadow something that might happen later, and I'm looking forward to that. |

StockersAnarchy said: Once again, You Watanabe gets shafted by the writers to further their Chikariko pandering. Incredible. I hated this episode when it first aired. The dumbass writers could've given You her own arc, but nope! Gotta have shove ChikaRiko down the audience's throats even more! As a result, You barely got any development in her own fucking episode, and as a result walks away as a bland character revolving around Chika. As if we don't already have Riko revolving around Chika. Dumbass writers were too focused on their ships to write a coherent episode it seemed. I hope Season 2 fixes this mess, and that's coming from an Aqours fan. Reikuo said: This episode made it clear that Chika and Riko do indeed have a special heightened relationship. At the expense of Riko basically not interacting with the 7 other members. It's funny really, they gave Riko all this spotlight, but at the end of the day she's a bland character who revolves around Chika, just like You. Its not at the expensive of anything. Your assumptions or wishes of what you personally think the content presented in this anime should have been are irrelevant criticisms. Riko was the character that had the most development to be had, losing her interest in music after a heart crushing defeat and moving into a new town with no friends was a bigger problem then any of the girls established in town had been dealing with. Its interesting you say Riko revolves around Chika when the show went out of its way many times to show that You and Chika had been unable to ever create any sparks together in events or activities they could both be passion about, and it took Riko to push her into something greater. Riko and Chika both had something the other was missing and their fusion was able to make them grow as people. Riko being alone and under much pressure in her highly competitive Tokyo school while Chika never had new inspiration or something to grow in her stale never changing hometown. The whole story is how Riko and Chikas friendship blossomed into what became Aqours, even with You and Chika starting the group first. Riko was the one who brightened up Chikas life the most and the story is supposed to have this element because its something young adults do sometimes go through and deal with in life. Its supposed to be relatable, Its not supposed to be a waifu checklist. "Ok we need another 2 minutes of Kanan this footage lets have her sit on the bench in a bikini saying nothing of value at all" Sorry I would rather watch Chika develop into a stronger person, while Riko settles into her new life at the expensive a lack of screen time by the other girls who had less problems in their life to deal with. Not to mention the original series had uneven screen distribution and interaction. Its not easy to equally spread development, screen time, and interesting relationships around 9 characters in a 22 minute per episode show. The writers settled on telling a strong story that favored some characters rather then trying to cheaply market 9 different faces with no meaty arcs that had any lasting meaning. Also the "expense" caused by the focus on Riko and Chika is over exaggerated anyway. Everyone had a decent arc, You may have got the short end of the stick but really the shows not the best written or most complex from the start. To complain about the best written and most coherent parts of the show, being Chika and Rikos growth together and as people, for the sake of "I wish there was more You" is just stupid. In a 22 minute show, your not having 9 characters have the development the same quality Chika and Riko received. Im thankful the show had 1 good overarching arc that made the show have some substance by the end rather then just bouncing around between all of the cast having what would be short and rushed episodes for the sake of spreading things around equally. Its just unrealistic. |

With all the attention Chika's been giving to Riko instead of her despite being there for her right from the beginning, You couldn't help but feel a bit jealous and inferior towards the Tokyoite Pianist. Riko being out of the picture only made the feeling that she's been replaced even stronger. It's a good thing that Mari noticed You's dilemma and survived that judo throw so she can hear her out. With all those high-key romantic levels of confrontation ideas You came up of, it's a very fortunate thing that Riko called to clear things between them with Chika finally making it apparent that she values her as much as she does towards Riko if not more. I didn't expect that the song would be Omoiyo but it was great. It's nice that Riko did a splendid performance this time around! |

Another beautiful performance. I can't say anymore. Even without one of their great members, they were all still made it and gave a full satisfaction as per my standadization goes. Holy shit, its nice! Yeah, its continued Riko's struggle about participating her personal dream. Fortunately, Chika, as kind as an angel, aggreed to letting her go, even escort her departure in order to achieved her personal dream. How sweet. She even invited all of the Aquors members to stated that they were allright with that decision. Was that ended up good? At first there was one obvious problem. By lacking one human resources, it means something must be changed on their formation. Yeah, Riko's positions needed to had a temporary changed. Who get the special place of her. Its, our Aye Aye girl, Koto---, i mean, its You! XD However, it surely was not pass as smoothly as they thought before. Chika and You already had a lacking chemistry. Its began when Riko just completely switched up her place in Chika's heart, and ended up like what happened there, just pretty heartbreaking me. At least someone must be honest to herself, and then, clear her hard feeling over it. Fortunately, there was Mari, a certain Senpai that already experience the same problems. I am glad, her gimmick toward the relations between Chika, You, and Riko, just so relieved. Its had a similarity on her own relationship, obviously. So, as a good senpai, she needed to taught the girl a solid lesson. I just love her interaction, and the next scenery went smooth in a fast way. Chika's acted as a good leader, there, by understanding the feeling of You. They were in the same board again, without even mentioned You's real feeling toward Chika. However, its served as a nice way to chill down You's worryness against a gap that separated her relations with Chika. You was just so sweet, while Chika just as pure as a water. They were actually a nice couple since the first glance. So, yeah, the moments when they finally built up the relations pretty well, its the moment when Aquors came back to their peak performance again. Nice direction, well written script, and smooth scenes. I am satisfied! |

One of the best episodes so far. I liked the drama. Poor You. She was jealous of Riko. By the way. She looks cute with her glasses. :3 Their performance was so beautiful. |

This is by far the best LLS episode. You's episode and the writers nailed it. You is jealous/insecure about Chika and Riko's friendship. I understand You's feelings, and there's nothing wrong with how she feels, mind you. You (the pronoun lol) feel what you feel, but what is important is what you do with them. It was sad seeing her down for a bit. Really loved the conversation with Mari and You. Mari noticed what was going on and decided to help her out. She knew You was feeling jealousy so she was like, "Why don't you talk to Chika and let her know how you really feel? 'Cause I wasn't honest and lost my friend for two years. I know what I'm talking about." 4 real, communication rocks yo! &++ it fixes so many things. With Mari, I liked how she basically was like, "Here's how I messed up, don't be like me." I wish more people irl were like that. The phone conversation between You and Riko was great too. Chika always wanted to do something with You too, the feeling was mutual, but she couldn't. Chika took the time to bike to You's house and let her know that she wants to do the dance their way. You was touched by all that so CUTE HUG! When fictional high schoolers have better social/communication skills and emotional intelligence than real life adults Σ(‘βββ’) |
