What an episode. Kagemitsu's order sounds like a drastic move against his enemies. It's like Hyakkimaru fufilling his destiny or something with his own actions this episode.

I'm sure a lot was going through his mind. In the meantime, the battle he had was quite thrilling if you ask me.

Great episode.

I felt really bad for the horse, it didn't deserve to get blown up like that. :(

Action sequences were awesome, I did feel bad for Tahomaru's retainers for getting their arms chopped off since they seemed like decent people but I guess they were the ones who aggravated and picked a fight with Hyakkimaru.

How can this wrap up with just 3 episodes left when there are many topics to covered, like the epidemic disease that start to affect character.
Also when refer to Tahomaru eyes should be just 'eye' now. And he almost lose his entire vision. It's harder to ship MaruMaru brothers than ever.

It seems that the fate will be fulfilled and the family of hyakkimaru will die by their hands as punishment by the pact.
No one can escape fate, hyakkimaru will be the agent of punishment.

First time I saw the ending all the way to the end, and I have to say, seeing Ponytail-less Dororo is adorable.

If Dororo was 4 or 5 years older I'd be a Hyakki x Dororo shipper.

Ah man, this anime is tearing me apart...

I don't want Tahomaru to die because he's just trying to be a good ruler and i don't want Hyakkimaru to die but he's getting so cold and hard hearted and it's so sad. I thought he'd turned a corner recently but it feels like he's taken 3 steps back.

I also have a theory that the old blind man is the demon that didn't take a part of him but i'm not sure what that would mean for the plot...

I've kinda given up on a happy ending... just preparing for the worst now 😭

Damn the Hyakki vs Taho fight is badass. But it is not over yet. I wonder will the demon horse become an ally or something.

Also, the ED visuals changed a bit, it's not as blurry as before. We even get clear view of Dororo in the ED. Does this mean Hyakki will get his eyes back next episode?

To be honest after they introduced Tahoomaru's illogical morality based on the needs of the majority, it just kinda... lost the rest of logic and became rather dull. But it was good when it lasted. I liked it.
The episode was definitely split in half and directed by at least 2 different people. Which is a shame, as usual.
Mutsu who said to be the right arm, lost right arm, Hyogo lost the left arm with the same idea. Aaaand that's the most profound symbolism there is this episode. Oh, Hyogo is balanced, Tahoomaru is fluctuatign and conflicted, Mutsu is infected and thus dim, slowly withering.

That was a good action packed episode, those new swords really flow through like nothing. The white horse in the episode and when it was beheaded at the end could be referenced in the first opening when we see white headless horses running, I'm not entirely sure of what they represent does anyone else? Also the fact that haikiymaru was suffering at the end was also foreshadowed in the second opening.

I don't think that would make much sense. The old blind man is just a monk who is fighing evil on behalf of Buddha. He is just that and he refuses to fight men, only demons. He will become a sacrifice in some final battle.

So, Hyakki is turning to the dark side more and more. Not to deny his right to return his body (he does, obviously), i guess it makes sense: to function the whole time only on motivations of killing, ghouls or not, can't be good for your health. I love how Dororo keeps stressing that this is his family. This is tragic how she is Hyakkimaru's anchor to humanity and at the same time the reason he goes berserk lately. Threatening random travellers... that was bad.
Another stunning fight between the brothers. I forgot how to breathe. What was at first just a duty Tahomaru tried to detach from his feelings, becomes more and more personal since of course Hyogo and Mutsu mean so much for him. This was also symbolic how Mutsu said that he is Taho's right hand and Hyogo is the left, and then they lost exactly those hands (meaning Taho symbolically lost his hands just as Hyakki is going to obtain his?) Taho got another scar from his brother's hand. This is all so painful. I shouldn't hold my hopes high but i can't help hoping they somehow will manage to set things right between them in the end. Mother, please do something. Being realistic, things are only going deeper down and i'm afraid there is no surfacing from this.
Honestly, for me, Tahomaru is kinda stealing the light as i'm able to connect with his side of the story a bit more ever since the beginning. This is not about who is right, just about types of inner conflicts that resonate with me.

Best anime fight this season for me yet in term of plot relevance. All the accumulated happenings from past eps have really helped for me to like this one.

I was hoping Hyaki kills Tahomaru's servant and watch him as he fall to despair. Unfortunately, it didn't happen this episode. I hope he massacre Daigo and that little brother.

Looking forward to the next ep.

WTF. Tahomaru is real monster and he should to die a painful death.
Trying to be a good ruler by sacrificing innocent children to demons. If he wants to be good guy why didn't he sacrifice his own body to those demons.
Hyakkimaru isn't cold. He's angry and has every right to be angry after what his shitty famili did to him. Do you seriously think he has no right to get his body parts back? Did he ever attack his shitty brother or father. They are the ones attacking him and he has no choice but defend himself.

that was some incredible animation - arguably probably one of the best fights this season.

i really like the narrative of how hyakki is slowly turning to the dark side and will stop at absolutely nothing to get his body back (we knew that before but it's becoming much clearer). he's becoming much more ruthless but what keeps him grounded is dororo. it hurts to see it happen but i really love the buildup.

am i the only one who saw the white horse with the flaming mane and automatically thought of a ponyta?

new visuals for the ED include a clearer vision of dororo - hyakki possibly gets his eyes back next episode?

You can clearly see this anime is getting even darker than it already is and even the tone of the anime is getting more lonely, which i think is really cool.

Find it a bit sad that the animation quality has gone down a bit and, but thats only when its not a fighting scene. The fighting scenes still looks great

incredible animation in this weeks episode. not only in combat but also facial expressions and character acting was on point!!!

I freaking love the osts played during the fights. Hyakkimaru is on another level compared to these three. I thought this would be the final battle between these two but I guess not.

Amazing episode.

As things stand, it seems Hyakki will slaughter most of the remaining cast and fight the final demon to get the rest of his body back. it's hard to think Hyakki will have a change of his heart at this point considering his dad and brother want him dead, so it's hard to blame him though.

The showdown this episode was interesting, watching haykki wreck his brother and the 2 siblings was satisfying after they ganged up on him few episodes ago.

Also, RIP poor horse.

Seriously tho, they really nerfed Hyakki this episode. Usually, Tahoumarou get destroyed when he fights Hyakki one to one so how come he actually keep up now? And what with Hyakki being pushed back by a horse when he stopped a shark and Chimera few episodes ago? It really feels like the show is having a trouble with Hyakki's display of strength

Hyakki can slay a 10-foot huge beast but has trouble hitting a horse, sigh...

I totally get that but Tahomaru has been brought up by a father that has made him believe it's okay do anything as long as it for the good of the people. I don't think he deserves to die a painful death because u also have to think about the era they live in. The Sengoku Era was a very harsh time to live in so his attitude makes sense... for that time!

Also i didn't say Hyakki doesn't deserve his body back, he really does but he gets aggressive to people that don't deserve it (like the man who tried to warn them about Daigo) and he's also hurting Dororo with the way he keep killing and stuff.

Hitler entier ideals came from his head tho, Daigo sacrificed his child to save the country and the moment Hyakki showed up his entire county went to shit.

So Tahomaru unfortunately still did not die. Also how dumb and evil can Daigo'd people and Tahomaru be? I mean they are constantly killing and robbing their own people, but they claim to care for them and save them. Also they believe that killing Hyakkamaru will stop the war. How? Are they insane. Killing Daigo might do this since Daigo started the war, but not Hyakkamaru.

I mean what would you do if you was in Tahomarou's shoes? He did show sympathy for his brother and did not agree with his father's action at first, but then Daigo put him in the situation and made him carry the responsibility of the country.

Eventually, Tahou came to the mindset that "what's done is done and Hyakki existence now do more harm than good" so he becomes focused on saving his country

Unlike Daigo, it's shown many times that Tahou's motivations are noble and comes purely from his care and worry about his people. Because he is the prince and the next king of the county, he sees it as his responsibility to kill his brother

Him calling his brother a "Devil" and constantly trying to kill him with cold blood is unjustified, but you have to remember that those guys lives in the Sengoku era, they just burned down and killed a whole village because they don't want the illness to spread.

Honestly, it's pretty hard to hate Tahomaru since from his perspective, he's trying to get rid of the "problem" that is threatening his land... well, I also think he wants to prove himself in order to gain more recognition from his shitty father but I guess it can't be helped. Too bad that due to his increasing hatred, it seems he will become a demon somehow in order to achieve his goal. This is just an speculation of mine tho.

Anyways, this was a pretty thrilling episode overall. The action sequences were very well handled and I can't wait to see how this huge dilemma for Hyakki will conclude.

I sure as hell will not justify sacrificing children to demons as the way of carrying responsibility of my country.

So Hyakki loses all the right to exist then? Why didn't Tahomaru when he found out about his fathers heinous crime, offer his body or better yet his fathers to the demons in the temple?
Tahomaru is no hero. He's a brat who's jealous of his mother's longing for her eldest and he disguises it with a burning sense of duty.

I sure as hell will not justify sacrificing children to demons as the way of carrying responsibility of my country.

carry the responsibility of the country how? by blaming victim and just seek the easy way out thinking like that? of course ignorance is bliss and that's why karma will hit them really hard.

he's just narcissistic, jealous, spoiled brat. Who tries to pretend he's hero when he's clearly a villain.

I am not saying it's the right thing to do, I just said I can see where Tahomaruo is coming from.

Also, yeah. You have to remember Tahoumarou is just 15-16 years old kid who thinks he is some hero who is destined to save the country by killing the EVIL "which is his brother" when the situation is much bigger than that.

It was such a great idea the way they used the horse to try and blow up Hyakkimaru, that samurai is no joke.

Amazing episode as usual, getting ready for that feels ending
