| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- THIS IS THE ACTUAL EPISODE 9 DISCUSSION. THERE'S SOME ISSUES WITH chekrdnickrs EPISODE 10 DISCUSSION This episode painted Saiba joichiro I such a crazy light, it was amazing to see him perform multiple feats and you can't blame for coming to a standstill. There was nothing left for him to overcome. But in all of this, nowhere was there any way to have justified what Azami was doing to totsuki whilst Souma's "crew" were so easily moulded into the "hero" roles... It sad that they couldn't give the antagonist better depth than what we've been shown. Other than that... Hilarious to see Souma nodding off when Joichiro was explaining his past. And was that picture of todoroki at the end ππ. talk about catching a person off-guard ππ |

| That whole scene with Soma picking the soba for their dish was pure comedic genius lol especially when Kinukuni got embarassed lol. Anyway I wonder how Soma would do against her I mean she's an expert on that specific dish while Soma might have served soba in their diner that's more like targeting the common folk and these shokugeki judges for the most part are probably only eats on fine dining restos. Also Isshiki really is mysterious but it looks like this won't be a challenge to him and the other guy on their team was a former 3rd seat so that must mean something. |

| Woah, I totally expected them to get that copycat-guy for their team. But I totally forgot about the three remaining seats inlcuding Kuga and Isshiko, that's a strong as fuck team. I especially wanna see that third seat destroying the new guy in the elite ten, I mean he's in the top 3 of Totsuki after all. |

| Kinda guessed Ishiki, Kuga and Subaru will somehow eventually be on the team due to the opening song, but didnt expect they would be there right at the start. The 3rd seat joining too is kinda surprising since he's very low key. Having him on the team make it much more fair and plausible for them to win. They really did get all the best remaining chefs together. Pretty hype! |

| Man, Isshiki has always been one of my many favorites in this series from the start, but seeing him get more spotlight and actually getting serious made me love him even more! Can’t wait to see how the rounds play off, especially with the ex-third seat guy who we haven’t seen much of at all. Ngl though when I first saw him without his hat I thought he was related to Mimasaka and was a new character. |
| The whole soba bit was jokes and I'm excited to see Isshiki finally kick some ass without holding back. Soma and Nene is a pretty interesting matchup too, particularly with Soma going a bit unorthodox again with the instant yakisoba part, fascinating there. Overall, the episode was good. The Central stuff when thinking hard about it still sucks and the animation and direction is still among the laziest I've seen without looking dreadful, but at least there's enough entertaining episodes to be an average season at least. I'd rather watch this season than a lot of the other terrible ones airing currently, even with all its flaws. |
