Many users put some YT videos, whether it is a song, a clip, a doc, a meme, among other types of videos in their profiles (myself included) but I'm wondering if other users when visiting those profiles actually dedicate a few minutes of their lives or not pressing play on them.

Do you? I myself, never do.

I seldom do, nor do I expect anyone else to. I mainly put YT videos in my profile for myself. Easy access between episodes.

same here. i just put the youtube videos because i find them enjoyable to watch. nothing more.
You can buy lossless digital music from your favorite Japanese artists on https://ototoy.jp/.
The songs are all DRM-free and you can re-download your purchased albums as you wish.
Show your support to your favorite artist if you can!
ps. if you are looking for Japanese albums, you have to search it in Japanese (not romaji). Just copy and paste the name.

For those who want to learn Japanese through anime

Nope. Not once. Granted I don't look at many people's actual profile; just their list(s).

If it's music, yes. Pretty sure I've found a few decent tracks that way, like nujabes and REOL

Of course not! I mean why should I waste my time on a video on their profile... Better read the profile comments...

Nope, never. Not to mention, I've never been on a profile that had a decent youtube video link, so there's that lol

I think the only ones I watched thus far are Swag and sasalx YT vid... Other than that, I do play YT vids from time to time if it was posted in Discord server I'm active on and it looks not cancerous.

I almost never do. Think I only click if the thumbnail is funny and it's short. I just can't be bothered most of the time.

Only if the preview looks promising or I see familiar artist name. By "promising" I don't mean cute Korean boys or anime OP/ED..

Nope. Heck, I didn't watch YT videos that I put on my profile. They're just designs to me.

No, never. I read the comments, instead.

Yes, sometimes, if the thumbnail catches my attention. Usually if it's a song, I listen to it while I read that user's profile *bio*. I also put a video on my profile but only at the very end, so if somebody is on my profile, they most probably won't play the song while reading my bio, because they'll find the video at the very end of my profile under a spoiler tab.

I usually do. And if someone posts one in my profile comments ( @Sonal1988 ) I always watch it because 1) they took the time to show me, so I'll take the time to see it, 2) they're usually something I enjoy seeing, & 3) I sometimes fear if I don't watch, they'll track me down across the world and beat me with wooden spoons.

Also - I completely believe (and expect, ofc) that every person that has visited my profile - 48,644 to date - clicked on and watched all of the 30+ videos I have under the spoiler buttons every time they visited. I couldn't imagine them not doing that.

And as everybody who knows me, knows very well that the only correct option is 3.

I only click on videos when I'm interested in them. Due to slow loading and bugs (embedded video doesn't show up sometimes when under a spoiler, though it might have to do with my restrictive policies), I often don't feel like browsing through the videos. I don't see what they are about before I temporarily allow iframe objects, anyway.

While it does look good to have a bundle of videos embedded in a block, the loading time is the knock out criterion for over usage. If someone wants to share a YT link, unless the suggestions would be a spoiler, I prefer direct YT links, so I can watch them in a new tab, since MAL doesn't support full-screen embedding and I would have to click on the title to watch the videos in a new tab, anyway. Too bad that the spoiler button doesn't stop them from loading, like it used to (or at least, I had the impression that all objects under a spoiler would have only loaded if you had expanded them)

On a sidenote: if you're wondering why the web page of YouTube loads slower in Firefox or Edge: this is because of the new design:

Only depends if it's appealing enough for me.

The video I use for as a joke is age restricted, so I kinda am forced to put it as a link anyway.
