It just keeps getting better and better. I love it.

@crystal-frost idk why you think it could possibly have 24 episodes, its been confirmed across multiple sources that it will be 12 episodes. Now as for the entire adaptation of :re manga, it could have 3 separate 12-episode seasons, which seems to be the direction they are heading since its confirmed that this first 12-ep season will cover through Chapter 59 in the manga, and to appropriately cover the remaining it would need two more 12-episode seasons.

@Khyros I'm not sure what you mean by 'following'. Its set 2-3 years after rootA, but there were several major canon-issues rootA had vs how things played out in the manga, so the best way to describe :re is that :re is doing a soft reset/reboot to get away from the canon issues that were in rootA and align more closely with what actually happened in the manga. This becomes apparent with some subtle clues, such as Hide's missing poster. (because as you know in rootA Hide 'died' and was carried by Kaneki at the end - which did not at all happen in the manga. I still loved rootA, but it was a different story than what we know from reading the original source, and that's what :re is aiming to do - get back to the original source material.

So far I'd say its done a pretty superb job of that.

Great episode this week. This time it sea they adapted only 3 chapters and barely skipped anything. This is how Anime should be made.

Great action and good to see some old characters like Nishio,Arima,Ayato,Yomo back.We got to see Furuta and Takeomi for the first time too in this season.

And finally the Touken reunion :mokona:hurr.

Full 5/5 Episode from me.

Since they did 3 chapters for this one, I have hope that Tokyo Ghoul:re will be 3 seasons with 12 episodes. The manga is really big, so if they don't rush it, it's definitely possible ^^

I agree, I'm feeling its much more likely now that we get a taste of the pacing more. They've basically confirmed that this season will go through Ch. 59, and since we're already at Ch. 168 in the manga and in the final arc, it'd pretty much have to be three seasons. I'm pretty excited about that, that way it allows for more faithful adaptation.

Oh that's quite unfortunate. Then things would be rushed again in the coming episodes.
Ideally, it would require 4 seasons to make a decent adaptation. But I'll be fine with three, as I'm happy enough already, seeing my favourite manga gets animated.
I just realized that all of my favorite characters, beside being stunningly beautiful, also happen to be exceptionally skilled murder machines. \('-')/

Okay pacing looked a lot better in this one, I hope it's gonna stay that way but since it's pierrot you never know...

And yeah, leaving out the chin touch was weird...like why not include that? First the Torso - Mutsuki scene and now this? I hope they do not keep up this trend of leaving out important scenes of characterization.

Overall decent episode though let's see how this adaption continues.

The thing is this final arc could be 36 more chapters and end on 206 if the bone theory is true.

3 chapters is acceptable for sure.

The meeting with Touka felt ok, the subtle introduction of Furuta was nice, although I really don't like how they portrayed him in the OP, is really unnecessary.

All in all it was ok.
I agree. They spoiled the hints to much in the OP, the sequence of characters shown (Clowns and the Priest) and the groupings too (Scarecrow with :re crew; Washuu and Kaiko). It's way too early and out of place.

was a good episode. they paced it a lot better than the 1st ep. it still skipped a few things like haise/kaneki telling the ccg officers that he is haise and making them believe that he has regained his control, haise crying alone when urie called him a ghoul. urei asking and getting denied for the frame surgery by haise, shimoguchi squad dying due to fire while searching torso's house and the conversation between haise and akira. i think if they added this scenes there would have been more emotional understanding of haise/kaneki but well anyway good episode. And man the BGM so great . i dont see people talking about it but the BGM was soooo fu**ing great especially the ost that starts playing when haise/kaneki and the quinx enter re: and meet touka. ANYONE PLEASE IF YOU KNOW THE NAME OF THE OST WHICH PLAYS WHEN HAISE/KANEKI MEETS TOUKA DURING THE LAST SCENE, PLEASE TELL ME. (i was also not expecting the introduction of kijima and furuta)

Yes. The studio seems to play it safe. If Touka is presented with dyed hair then the anime-only fans might not recognize her and think she's a new character who by some chance resembles Touka, like the case with Haise.
Besides, the CCG didn't seem to investigate further on the other Anteiku crews as they hit their targets: The Owl, Devil Apes, and Black Dobbers.

Only3 chapters? ? Wow that's too short

It's good not to rush but it's bad for 12 episodes to adapt just 3 chapters

I really can't understand Studio pierrot anymore
3 chapters are enough though. They still had to leave out some scenes from manga. Like how Haise sobbed in his room after being called ghoul. There are some other minor scenes too, which were skipped.

It was 3 chapters . It wasn’t that fast . Last week was 6... and they obviously probably didn’t do that to make it seem like he’s happy right now .

The nutcracker bit had me giggling, they must had been smoking weed for that idea to pass the board of directors.

It was heartwarming to see the re-encounter of Touka with the inner Kaneki at the :re coffee shop, so nostalgic.

I did not like the first episode as Kaneki's absence was so sudden, but now I'm going through the inevitable acceptance.

Perriot decided to skip how Urie didn't get permission from Haise but did from Arima, which I'm ok with tbh. The art is really good in my opinion, I like the colors......

I've waited 3 (3 or 2) years for the last scene, and it was fucking worth it! I wanted to cry, Touka just smiling without being able to do anything. And of course when the tear feel from Haise's eyes, ugh the feeeeeels!

The last scene made the whole episode

Good episode, definitely an improvement on the first in terms of production and general execution. Surprised that the ghoul from last week was actually Nishiki, as I swear he used to be really weak compared to most of the other main players on both sides (he caused Kaneki trouble when they first met, but I recall him basically being useless after that). Also, I'm not surprised Kaneki/Haise has already ended up bumping into Touka again at her "new Anteiku", but I'm surprised it came so early. Still, I'm glad it did, as it helps add to what is bound to be the most interesting aspect of Haise as this progresses: that conflict between Kaneki and his new persona as Haise. I can't wait to see what else the show does with that, going forward.

Ah, the powerful Touka x Ken reunion. I didn't expect it to happen to so early on though. Its been a while since I read the source but I swear this scene occurs a few dozen chapters into the manga. Did they skip some things or is my memory just acting up?

Anyway, Akira is absolutely beautiful. More screen time for her pls~

Omg. I felt like crying with that cafe scene between Touka and Kaneki/Sasaki. I have read the manga few years ago but I was surprised that they will adapt it this early. But anyway, its very nostalgic and bittersweet at the same time with Sasaki's narrative and that tear! Huhuhuhu

Animation is good. Choreography along side the pretty average music are actually the downside of this series.
I like how they cut some parts out to keep the pacing. For exemple, they cutted out the permission paper so that Urie could be operated (if I'm not mistaken).
The ending was pretty cool. It was the first time the music was on spot and Touka looks good.
I'm enjoying the anime sooooooooooooo much more than the manga. Keep going :re.

Its a little bit better than the first Episode because it only adapted 3 chapters this time instead of 6. But the Animation is still a little bit clumsy.

Why did they introduce Kijima and Furuta already? And why did they highlight Furuta that much? I liked how the Manga introduced such an important character so subtle, but in the anime you can smell that the assistent is gonna be much more important than Kijima!

And my last complaint is Touka! She looks very different than in the manga. Manga touka is much more beautiful! She is more similar to the first part of TG. Why?

Definitely an improvement over episode 1. Even though I'm a manga reader I'll still love whatever is put out. Apparently the only thing left out is a chin touch when Kaneki says "I'm happy". For those who do not remember, in Root A the significance of the chin touch was explained. It is Kaneki's tell to say that he's lying...
