do you listen to music while reading manga ?
for me it's necessary to find something compatible to listen to otherwise i find it difficult to read.
here are some of my choices:
-Berserk : DJ Okawari - Kaleidoscope - Full Album
-Oyasumi punpun : Radiohead
-Gantz : Nine Inch Nails - Ghosts (Full Album)
-Vagabond : Never ending Nujabes
-Vinland saga : Vikings - Soundtracks
-Tokyo Ghoul : anime OSTs
-Shingeki no kyojin : anime OSTs
~~
edit : a bunch of you use the same playlist or song for different mangas, that's impossible for me lol.
if i listen to for example kaleidoscope i instantly remember berserk and get the feelings I felt while reading it.

yeah some times i mostly listen to OSTs because if i listen to actual songs i end up listening to the song lyrics and not the words in the manga so i get about 20 pages in then thinking to myself i dont know whats just happend

but mostly listen to Video game OSTs or Soundtracks
the main ones i listen to are
Bayonetta
Bayonetta 2
Hyrule Warriors
any Sonic soundtrack they all have good music even if its just a couple tracks
Danganronpa 2 Goodbye despair
but i have a playlist on YouTube i made so i mostly use that

I listen to music quite often while reading manga, preferably ambient music with no vocals on low volume to act as background music which slightly enhances my experience.

I read Hi no Tori a few days ago and found that these albums fit surprisingly well with the futuristic nature and thoughtful undertones of some stories.

I don't always listen to music when I'm reading manga because it doesn't coincide with the feelings and stuff but
when i was reading our happy hours i was listening to turning page by sleeping at last.
it's decent at least.

I do not listen to music while reading, simply because I will be focused on it rather than the manga. Also I like to see how the paper media can make me enter into the universe of the story.

Only when I'm about to doze off. I play the music of my usual playlist... Hearing more noises keep me awake and such sounds doesn't affect my focus not limited to reading but also in general like self-studying, drawing, etc.etc.

that's the thing, you must find something that fits the atmosphere of the manga and its general feel.
Radiohead fits oyasumi punpun perfectly, even the lyrics.

I do listen to music since sometimes the silence is unbearable when I read. I don't have particular songs that I listen to. Just whatever songs that plays in my phone.

I do watch though. I mean listen to the dialogue in a drama or movie I "watch"
while reading manga. Talk about multi-tasking. XD

I don't listen to music when I'm reading. I can't focus. But a webtoon with music is always better. Especially if the music is a perfect fit e.g. About Death.

Totally. Altough not all the time depending on where I am. But if I were to listen to music while reading it has to be something that goes along with my reading pace and fits the tone of what im reading. This may sound REALLY weird but I listen to alot of Kendrick Lamar when reading... Idk it's just a good vibe

If it's some laidback comedy slice of life manga, then yes, I listen to music. Not music with singing though. But most of the time I read in silence, I find it much easier to concentrate that way.

I can only listen to instrumental music while reading manga,
and it has to be a certain genre. Like I can't listen to instrumental
music while reading Sports, Romance, and Comedy.

It depends on the type of manga, but generally my go to albums are:

Persona 3 OST
The Silent Hill 2 OST
Interstellar OST
Fishmans - Long Season
Chopin Nocturnes
Mount Eerie - Clear Moon
Sufjan Stevens - Seven Swans

There's a pretty awesome fight sequence in the manga Shamo where Chopin is being played whilst they fight. I remember looking up the same exact Chopin piece that was in the text and decided to listen to it whilst reading the fight.

Long story short, probably one of the best experiences i've ever had reading Manga. Since then i've always listened to either classical, film ost's and then ambient music. As long it's quite chill and mellow without any vocals, it's perfect for Manga.

Recommend me some short Manga!

Halo (or like all of Melophobia) by Cage the Elephant went so well with Oyasumi Punpun, Let My Baby Stay (Amandla Stenberg cover) matches the Kare Kano mood so well, and u better believe I blasted T. Rex for every damn chapter of 20th century boys

i wouldn't be averse to listening to some cool jams, but the songs really need to match what i'm reading and i'm too lazy to try and find something that matches the atmosphere. unless someone has recs lol

those i mentioned in original post fit the atmo quite good give them a try.

Sometimes, but it has to be ambient or instrumental. If I pick it juust right, it even enhances what I'm reading and makes it feel like I'm watching a movie instead. +10 if both the song AND manga are sad lmao

When I read them online, I usually have something quiet playing in the background, and I usually prefer something without vocals (or just very few). I read the Kaiji arcs / sequels while listening to the Kaiji OST which made things a lot more exciting!

I can recommend listening to fitting anime soundtracks or of the adaptations when reading, it's great! When reading phsysical copies I don't listen to anything, I usually either read in bed or on public transportation anyway.
