I actually liked this episode a lot. In fact, this would've been a great pilot episode. I'm just annoyed that this is episode 3 since I felt like the first 2 episodes of the series were pretty dire and had a lot of things that I could point wrong towards.

The ending was sweet but somehow I get the feeling not everyone is going to survive because the leader gives me that vibe that he'll use them like pawns or something.

Not a big fan of Ranta, I hope he matures later on.

But I like this episode. Glad the group is finally earning money and stuff. I felt quite bad for them and how miserable they were in the beginning. >_<

Between the melancholic keys, the background noise often having little bit the ambience of crickets, and the way the world is painted as so bleak and intimidating for our fresh recruits... I really can't shake the air of depression. This anime is so atmospheric. On one hand, it's really nice, but on the other it makes me feel uncomfortable.

I love the way the show is playing up every victory as a major achievement. It makes me feel genuinely happy for the group every time they accomplish anything.

This is how an MMO anime should be like. Its literally like a legit MMO.

Start off as a newbie. Party battles. Guilds. Jobs. Learn new skills. Gather materials/money.

As long as they don't stay newbie forever, I see this anime going a long way!

Why the hell is this moving too slow? I just finished Yamada-kun and the 7 witches and the people are so mad because the adaptation was so rushed. But this one is just too freaking slow and dammit why the too much drama? Even when it should be the fun moment when they got more loot, it's still sad. Stop playing those stupid drama songs :/

If you don't like it by ep. 4, you might want to skip it. It ain't gonna be speeding up anytime soon.

I mean it is an anime about "the beginner's story".

Well I never said slow = unwatchable, I was just pointing it out besides I've seen shows that are worse but I still managed to finish. Also I'm halfway in ep.4 now and I like so far.

LMAO at Ranta.
Dat Shihoru smell.
LMAO at Haruhiro checking to see if the girls didn't wear underwear.
Dat Shihoru booty. Dat piece of booty cheek.
If you see that my post is exactly 1 month old (or more) from when it was posted... Don't waste your time, especially when you want to reply with something petty & insignificant. Assume that I've moved on (because I have).

Killing goblins in their sleep won't give them much combat experience. Although it did seems like they started killing ones that were awake later on so I suppose that's some progress.

This show could be so much more engaging, but the fanservice they force down your throats literally every ep so far is disgusting.

I knew Ranta would become trouble with Yume after what happened the evening before :D

Even Haruhiro had to resist against the temptation of the girls. At least he was a gentleman and stopped Ranta to do something he would definitely regret even more as what he did at the bath.

At first it was looking pretty bad for them. They made no loot. I really liked the scene between Haruhiro and Yume. <3

And then finally they found a place where they could make money. A lot of goblins who were alone and sometimes even sleeping which made them to a perfect quarry.

With the money they made they could finally buy a lot of important things they need.
This anime is so chill I really like the atmosphere. :)

Ranta is interested in Yume, Yume is interested in Haruhiro, Haruhirois interested in Shihoru & Shihoru & Manato interest seems mutual what a mess when that bomb finally goes off lol

Pretty chill episode, which doesn't have to be a bad thing. But the characters are kinda bland, so this isn't really as much fun as a good SoL show.

They're still in a tough spot and the bleakness is also still portrayed quite nice. On the other hand, it's cute and uplifting how small successes influence the tone.

Ignoring the shit fanservice aside and the fact they magically were able to become amazing at killing goblins overnight (?), I really enjoyed this episode. I really enjoy the fact the characters interact with each other like real people. Like, okay, ignoring the stupid ass fanservice, I mean the little sweet moments like Haru praising Moguzo's cooking and Moguzo giving him a humble little smile. It's the way characters will pause before saying things, have pauses between words, or giggle a bit. The flow of natural conversation makes me praise this anime. I'm so used to exaggerated portrayals of how real human beings talk to each other in real life, and so to have Yume for example talk about Ranta sneaking in on her beforehand and talk to him about it felt real. It wasn't just ignored and never talked about again--she actually brought it up and they discussed it.

Many critique how lifeless everyone comes across in the anime. I actually prefer the more subtle approach to character development, aside from Ranta, because they don't have to comically accentuate their main two character traits and archetypes into an exaggerated mess of a character. You learn from the way the anime shows you a character carving wood, or a character looking up at the sky by himself. Shows what they like to do and what they value.

Obviously, this isn't always the case. It's a little jarring how Haru just narrates moments of action and the anime doesn't really show that, but it's not a huge problem to me. That being said, this show really could benefit from having the fanservice cranked down like one hundred notches. Sometimes, I have to wonder, like...what is the point? What is the point of some of this shit? It really breaks up the pace and destroys the serious tone the story tries so hard to construct.

My hate for Ranta has subsided though, now that I know

It was cool to see them being weak af at first, but of course you probably don't want them to stay in such a state for the rest of the season. At the same time though, this is a show that feels more grounded in reality (relatively speaking, lol), and for me I just don't feel as much fulfillment when the main characters get op too fast. This one really feels like they're learning how to get stronger and we get to actually witness that instead of being weak one episode and in the next suddenly being overpowered. Idk, it's the small things i appreciate

Ugh, I can't believe this show is rated 7.67, does it get better??? The dialogue makes me facepalm so far 98% of the time like this dude admonishes the redhead for being a perv but then he's staring at the girls boobs and peeping around corners while they are washing their underwear? But then trying to stop him from peeping? Can this dude have some consistency? Also they were told you fight you might die, if you don't fight you will die, and they just sit around and complain about not having money. At least they did something this episode. I know it's risky but you WILL die he said, they should be training their asses off not worrying about peeping. And seriously this show doesn't suit that kind of stuff, and I am someone who isn't against Ecchi and that humor at all if done right.

I'm liking this show so far, but I've gotta say, I didn't really like this episode. It was too slow and lacked the intensity that made the second episode so compelling. I'm looking forward to how this plays out but also somewhat apprehensive about just how well they'll be able to keep up this slow pace in a one cour series.

Fanservice jokes one side, I honestly can't help but be really doubtful of Manato to be honest. I don't know maybe he's too nice or acts like a people's person but there is just something about him that's not right, and I mean he frequently accepts it too, albeit indirectly.

Also I get the development phase, but now we should get something in addition to the daily dairy of our crew.

this anime is one of a kind; no doubt abt it. Yume with her hair down (or was that Ep 2?) looks like a plain village broad. my disappointment is immeasurable and my evening is ruined

this is just a repeat of the same formula as the previous episode; I hope it picks up at some point

Manato seems to be setting a lot of death flags here. Everything from the somber scene where Haruhiro remarks that the party would be "lost without him" to Shihoru visibly crushing on him is making me suspect something's going to happen to him. After all, that scepter that's lying on the ground in the preview belongs to him.
