| I am not sure if it's the VA's problem or what he's been told to do. His voice is not that bad when he talks normally, but like I said in the episode discussion when he yells (which is the case 90% of the time) he sounds like a dying parrot also every time he shouts he drags on the last word in the same repetitive fashion |

| Just 30 seconds of this video made me cringe. I knew this was going to be a poor performance ever since I saw it's the first role of this seiyuu. And this is actually the main reason why I'm not going to give this show a try (unless it miraculously ends up in MAL's top 500 but that's unlikely). Bad voice acting kills enjoyment. |

| If the character is supposed to sound obnoxious, then it's pretty great, that's for sure. This guy makes Natsuki Hanae sound like Junichi Suwabe by comparisson. Anyway, I looked at the page of the voice actor and the quantity of hate there almost gave me a laugh. |

The VA is just doing his job, and it wouldn't be in the episode if someone higher up didn't gave their OK or even demanded that kind of acting. But yeah it does sound annoying. |

| Just because it works for Natsu's (FT) VA, it doesn't mean screaming will work for everyone. The first episode was insufferable, because his voice is already annoying and he screams 90% of the time, on top of that he also prolongs his screams unnecessarily. Obviously, the VA isn't the only one to blame, but knowing that the staff approved of this episode before it aired takes away all my motivation to watch this. If the manga is good I might read it, because it is silent. |

To take it further, you could blame the author for writing the character like this and them/the staff wanting the anime to be faithful.The anime community is always so short-sighted. | Yup the problem is not his voice, it's the non-stop yelling... Maybe it was done for comedy sake but I don't know since I didn't laugh a single time. In the end he sounded pretty cool though, then again he wasn't yelling. Well maybe a guy gets used to it, it's only 13 eps or so, it's tolerable I think. |

| Coming from a person that likes Bakugou from Boku no Hero Academia, I don't personally mind his voice. I will not lie though that he does yell more often than Bakugou, even more than other hothead protagonists. |

I gathered people were just generally complaining that two of the MCs were the kind of character who don't really get very emotional and who generally talk calmly no matter what the topic is. Which to me is more of a personality issue than a voice acting issue. There's a lot of things I think were done poorly in the Sakurada adaption, but that particular complaint never really resonated with me. |

| The character's personality is overdone to the point of annoyance; it's not as if we've never seen characters like this, but paired with an eardrum piercing voice is just a double whammy. I can't see why anyone would like him it unless they're a die-hard shounen fan. |

| This is actually a very clear case where the voice actor isn't bad but the voice direction was god awful. Watch enough anime and you'll start to pick up on the difference between a bad voice and a good voice that was told to be bad. The guy clearly has the ability to do a decent enough voice, but whoever told him to perform like that needs to rethink how to do loud, boisterous characters, especially if that was his own decision. With this said I don't think I can continue watching past the first few minutes. Even though the reason for the hate is misguided it doesn't change the fact that it is obnoxious to listen to. It's disappointing since I was looking forward to another power trip series. It's probably too late to do anything about the voice acting for the next two or three episodes, but hopefully they get enough feedback and alter the approach of his voice in the latter episodes. I'll come back to this one later. |

I mean listen to Yato screaming a lot -- that's bearable and you're actually asking for more of him screaming. Goddamnit. P.S.
