Pretty nice start, like the idea.
Their faces when they found out that they will receive 0 points xD
Hope they explain what are the main differences between classes A/B/C/D.

Very enjoyable first episode, that girl trying to befriend everyone just felt too forced for me, I m suspicious about her.

I just loved when in the end of the episode most of them got owned when the teacher explained all of that, then proceding to declare they were trash!

My First Impression about this Anime.

> Ayanokouji = (not really) Hachiman (mixed with Oreki + Kyon)
> Suzune = Yukinon
> Kikyou = Yuigahama
> Kei = Yumiko
> Yousuke = Hayama (mixed with Koizumi)
> Sensei = (not really) Shizuka-sensei (mixed with Chifuyu Orimura + Kodaira-sensei)

It's good episode ..

I watched this because i saw lots of people said it's similar to Oregairu and i would jump in joy if it's half as good but... Anyway i will stick a few episodes more i think.

As for the first episode impression: first of all MCs seiyuu is soo boring i almost slept but i will ignore it for source material.
But the thing i don't understand most is it's like a waaay dumber version of Oregairu. Seriously similar but when i first watched 8man's monologs it was interesting at worst. This guy makes 8man look like Einstein. Really if it's this episode alone i wouldn't recommend this to any Oregairu fan.
Haters gonna hate...

First few minutes and we already have a Donald Trump-like character. This anime is already going places.

Also, I like this anime already. However, I don't want to get high expectations yet.

It's good episode ..

We still need:
A trap that resembles Saika
A fujoshi that resembles Hina- Probably the bespectacled girl (Airi) will turn out to be her clone.
A tough girl that resembles Saki
If the MC has a little sister, then she'll be similar to Komachi

This was decently interesting. I do enjoy the MC not giving a fuck about anything really.

Might turn out interesting when he has 80k yen left for the month and the girl next to him probably has as well. I just wonder why the MC didn't get any more money even though I assume he didn't do anything bad for the first month. Also how did no one at least heard about this "scheme" which was awfully obvious from seniors or something?

MC reminds me too much of Hachiman. I like Hachiman, but having him feel like a copy is a bad thing.
Also I got annoyed by the black hair girl asking him what he want for looking at her at the bus. I would of responded with a "so what?" bratty as hell.
And miss nice girl is annoying as hell. If she don't want to be friends then leave her alone jeez. And asking to be friends? seriously? That's not how you make friends but ok.

Ending was obvious, but it is still interesting.

Ok...i was very despointed with this first episode, the characters are generic as hell the production qualiti is good but i hate every character, the MC is boring (even when he tries to not be boring), Horikita looks like the type of character that belives that is "perfect" and needs to be alone because it´s too cool, Kushida is pathetic when is begging to be "friend" of everybody and looks like does not know the real meaning of that word, the blond guy is disgusting and i thik that he someone need to kick his ass, the "bad boy" is generic and does not even punch three assholes that were bullying him, and the rest of the class does not even look difent to all other classes that i have seen in every other anime in the past,...and the teacher looks Porno (the only good thing about this episode).
When i saw the PV of this anime (with that frenetic music) i was thinking hat this was gonna be a parody of all this repetitives (repeitive does not mean bad...) school animes but if it wasn´t for the final part that was actually interesting i would´t continue watching this anime.
Well is obius that not all the relaces of this season are gonna be as good as Made in Abbys...
WOW!!! this is my longest rant and i am not even a soob hahaha, if i continue watching this, i´m gonna use this coment (if is still bad at that point) and make this anime my first review.

How much pretension in this premise: "This is a serious business school where the high rank class are the best and the rest are scum, we are not like another LN school stories. Take us seriously ¡¡Take us seriously!!", I can see how it'll take that course, I wish I was wrong, because at the end it seemed that it would focus on fellowship and how to survive in elite school, something interesting if it's well managed.

The characters... They are almost a exactly copy than Oregairu's: An apathetic but intelligent protagonist who does mental monologues so that it appears that he is the unique character with brain of the series, just like Hachiman, but he's not a bad character at all. The bitch who believes herself superior to the rest, despises the whole world because "making friends is unnecessary" and is all the time with her arms crossed to show superiority over "scum" (all that for a typical "dark and traumatic past"), especially the protagonist, who she hates for no apparent reason, just like YukinoSHITa. The cheerful and popular girl, with the personality of a potato and more breasts than brain that very possibly falls in love with the MC because "she is the only one that understands him" and she will become herself the victim when he doesn't correspond her, just like Yui, also, the way she is trying to befriend everyone so obsessively is annoying and very forced, but I received a little spoiler about that...

tl;dr The premise can be good as long as doesn't try to be "super serious" and doesn't overdo pretentious. MC is something dull but can be an interesting character, both "heroines" are annoying and cancerous a.f. There are other more characters out there, so there may be more variety. I will continue to watch to the expectation of whether the series improves... Or as far as my patience allows me

Anime-only viewer here
This looks really interesting, it has potential. It's good that I didn't really have any preconception at all (though right from the beginning it hints it's not going to be typical high school harem crap at all), I didn't even see the comedy tag.
The whole time I was wondering where's the catch? why no one bothered to ask the teacher about it? (well, considering they're teenagers, I can sort of accept that) I bet it even was in the school manual ._. I actually like that the main character was sort of cynical and loner, that's a far better choice for the audience's point of view than a typical naive goody two shoes protagonist (the twist wasn't that unexpected, really, so a typical character would hurt the suspension of disbelief or seem stupid). If this was a full-on comedy/slice of life, that would be a different story, of course. I don't mind the seiyuu so far.
The thing is... where is this premise going? That's what I'm really interested to see. It felt like watching a very dark take on baka to test somehow. Considering the themes, I hope they don't blow it like C the money of soul.

What I didn't get... did they discount the points individually according to every student's faults or did they combine them for the whole class? Main character had like 80.000 something but I don't know if
a) he was alloted that much for his personal behaviour, or
b) he saved that money from last month (being suspicious of it all) and the school just added up the whole class faults and basically punished the entire group for those who misbehaved. When the teacher said something like "you were awarded zero points" I didn't know if she was answering specifically to that student or in general.
Because yeah, b) could really change the dynamics of the class as a whole.

chunng said:

The teacher said the entire class got 0 points for the month is one of these "if someone do not behave in the class, the entire class is punished" since Horikita and the MC was behaving normally the entire month. Personally, I never understand this mindset of teaching.

Ok nevermind I asked XD I'm more interested now

Unimpressed, this screams pretentious, wait no, this is pretentious. I have no idea why these authors think that functioning like a normal person in society is so hard, it's not an Asian thing, that's for certain. Maybe its because modern Japanese kids watch too much anime, they fail to grasp how to properly socialize, maintain distance and have self-discipline.

Jesus christ, when Baka test did this, it was being a comedy, you are not suppose to take it seriously, Hachiman wasn't even a positive idea. Forget about missing the point, this author's brain is in another galaxy. Why you no grasp the point?

Hmm. The source material is LN, but generally the order of completeness in material goes from LN > Manga > Anime. Surprisingly it seems like this time the anime is doing much better in terms of presentation of material. Small things that manga skipped over, the anime managed to bring in. Quality first episode.

Interesting first episode

The first episode did well to introduce the main cast and they certainly are diverse which is a good thing. The theme of Equality is an interesting one though and i can see how this elite school can be used to showcase this. The first scene on the bus did well to show this. The main character does seem to be someone thats rather laid back and prefers to be in the background so im curious to see whether this will change. His appraisal of his classmates though was funny. His introduction was really flat though just like his personality. Hmm so their class will not change classrooms then eh. This school is more like a town than a school though. The idea of A point based currency system that also serves as their allowance was interesting. Suzune really is pretty thorny and not really approachable at all making her a ice queen eh. It was interesting to see that she and Kiyotaka have similar personalities though. It was interesting to see that even between classes there is a hierarchy of sorts.

I guess to Kikyo Kiyotaka is the only one in the class that is close to Suzune as he is the only one that speaks to her. Kikyo sure is earnest and determined in her attempts to make friends though. This school sure is indulgent in that students can do what they want in class though. Despite her frigid personality i think that Suzune is slowly warming up to Kiyotaka though. So this was part of Kikyo's plan eh. Suzune sure is pretty perceptive though in determining this was part of Kikyo's plan. To think that Suzune has been alone for so long though. Feel sorry for Kikyo though. The thing with points is that you need to be mindful that they are in fact money though and to not overspend it. Thats good thinking from Kikyo. Kikyo sure can get pretty close when she's interrogating someone though. Their students dorms sure a pretty nice though. Hmm so once May arrived the real game starts eh. Wow to think that the teacher had been tallying all the infractions though. So those infractions are combined to cause them to lose all of their points eh. You break the rules and you get penalized eh. Quite a unexpected catch in the system actually. Now the real game starts eh lol.

Woooooooowwwwwww !!! I really loveeee the stroy and the concept of it <3 <3 <3 <3 , The animation is great and the art is really awesome plus the characters are beautiful and well-made <3 especially Kiyokata and Suzune <3 <3 <3 and I really ship them together they're so perfect in my opinion <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 , The OST is kinda great too and the story-setting is amazingly well-placed , I really love it so much I want more of it ASAP <3 <3 .. The best thing I like about Kiyokata is that He's kinda smart and collective , Stays calm in a lot of different situations and even the embarrassing ones and He's really hilarious xDDD , I don't know I just find him really funny for some reason lmfao .. Suzune's really pretty and smart and really cares about her future at least more than some students and I kinda feel bad for her , She's been alone for 9 years or maybe even more if u count kindergarden !!! I mean she's pretty and kinda polite but not to everyone lol but still !!! I think she prefers to be alone and Kiyokata doesn't but he has no choice lmao , So I really hope they develop Suzune's character more and make her more lively and make her enjoy her school life more , I'm supporting her <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 ... Anyways , This anime is really fantastic I enjoyed every second of it and I don't think I can get enough of this <3 <3 and I'm really hypeddddddddddddd , Like I said before .. I need more of this ASAPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP so I'm ready and hypeddd for more , Looking Forward !!!!

So, did they all not get any points, including the ones that weren't misbehaving? The anime didn't really say, but I assume so. Collectivism, or simply a lesson in holding others accountable?

First thing I noticed is that everyone is RIDICULOUSLY HOT in this show. Was too distracted by that fact to notice anything else...
After I awoke from that daze I noticed that these people talk about 100.000 yen as "a lot of money", that is not even 900 USD each month, did they fail their economics exam?
Also I get giving points based on class merit (NOT individual merit. It is collective, because the whole class gets no points in spite of some student not behaving as badly as others). However some student have no points left so next month they should just starve and die? I bet that doesn't look good for promotion. Even if they say like "Go beg on the street", they are purposely creating a homeless/criminality problem in their own private school, because when people get hungry they do anything to get their food. If I were a rich kid in that school I would be scared of getting stabbed by some of these 'loser students', because those guys are desperate.
This is what happens when you shit out a light novel and don't think about your premise. Then you get a great artist and it sells anyway...

Decent start, interesting concept, but characterwise it seems pretty standard so far. Still I have higher hopes for this show than for some others which had better first episodes.
I'm struggling to get past the first episode still but I'm not liking the typical way anime has come to spell out every single action. Like, show don't tell. Jesus.

Was too obvious with how they tried to emphasize the whole "we're elitist assholes" in such a long drawn out way. Even New Yorkers aren't so obvious in their trashiness.

Yeah, I guess the portrayal of their snobby attitude was too over the top in a bad way, made it look ridiculous, but like you mentioned this is something common in anime.

Strong first episode. It starts off with a pretty deep question about an issue that is front and center in today's society.

The MC seems pretty cool, reminds me a lot of Hachiman but not nearly as witty or funny.

It looks like this is about self-accountability and responsibility, but if this is some special school, you can only imagine that only the best of the best can get in; so because of that, wouldn't these students be more responsible?

I really liked the lighting and the colors, the gradients in the eyes and hair were especially striking.

Sweet Jesus that teacher is fine.

The plot would have been dark enough even without the Nietzsche quote... The exceedingly bland main character seems intriguing, particularly as he delved deeper into the nature of the points from the get-go. The female cast doesn't disappoint either.

Can't really co-sign that unfortunately. He seems like the typical deadpan/loner character we've seen over the last few years who excessively voices out his thoughts and is conveniently slow to catch on to things.

Spending an entire episode building up to a reveal that should have been more than obvious to anyone with a brain seems a bit much. Seriously, I have a really hard time believing that every single one of these supposedly smart kids automatically assumed that they'd be getting a 100.000 every month from now on without any conditions, especially when they were explicitly told that the money they originally got was a reward for passing the entrance exam.

But apart from that it has definitely been an intriguing start. The setting seems promissing and I've already grown a little attached to our two main characters. Liking them both a lot.

I would not be so sure about that, most people don't really use their brains and the idea of instant reward is usually more apealling than the idea saving money. Most people I know would have spent everything in the first week with expesinve shit, and then gone in debt while assuming they would get more free money next month.

Also they're teenagers who probably never had to pay a bill. And being good at school doesn't mean having real world skills, they don't even get basic stuff as giving your seat for old people. To me that first scene was just to show how lacking of common sense most of them are. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I attended university with some 60 people who were on full scholarships with living allowances. Majority blew their allowances every month, and most will overspend come summer break. So yes, the reality is there for me. MC-kun also painfully reminds me of me because I also tried to make friends but ended up being that guy who gets invited because he seemed lonely otherwise...

Main heroine's words, "You failed splendidly at making friends" hurts so much...

I daresay that the slow to catch on aspect doesn't quite apply to the main character of the show. His mannerism is slow, his thought process isn't. Other than that, I guess it's a matter of preference.

How could I put it better. It's not so much he is slow rather than he is portrayed as slow, mostly because of the inner dialogue.

I think this series has potential. The main character was bland and annoying at first to me. But within the first episode I found myself really liking him. Also like it's sharp kind of edgy ideology rooted in things like Nietzche. And it has a surprisingly solid set up. I find myself interested in where the plots going. I wish the tits were less absurd on this show. But I even like the girls. Even though the only two we've met so far are very clear and over the top tropes. I'll keep watching this one for now.

This looks pretty great!!! I'm excited. And for real...the end of this wasn't surprising...they clearly are all idiots. It was pretty much clear from the start that they would earn money based on merit...the thing I didn't like was that it was based on the class as a whole. Like....that kinda sucks (if I were in the situation). But I think it will make for a good story.

I think I'm missing something here. So the reason Class D would want to move up to Class C is to get more monthly points? Is that it? Is there something beyond this? Do they get better jobs at the end or something?

Is it possible for Class D to get any monthly points, or does Class D always get 0 points?
