| i like to imagine myself being the MC in anime. no one pushes naruto or kirito around, no parents tell them to do their homework or go to bed even if they are not tired, everyone respects them and they have many friends and qtgf's!! also they are super strong and no bully would ever dare to touch them!!! |

| The sheer amount of anime produced each season means I'm never at a loss for a quick 12-episode show. I tend to like shorter self-contained series, which anime has a lot of (sometimes unfortunately, when I find one I actually want more of....looking at you, Death Parade). Plus there's so many weird niche interest shows and subgenres that it's easy to find something that fits my mood at the time, finish it quick, and then move on to something new. While I love a lot of western animation too, it doesn't tend to come in the sheer volume or with the same genre diversity anime does. Like I'm currently watching shows about gay ice skating, school girls during the zombie apocalypse, volleyball, concert band, and comedic jailbreaking. I'm sure not gettin all that on Disney XD. |

| If this was me years ago, I will probably answer "Because anime can tell a story that no other medium can tell. Anime is unique, stories in anime show up nowhere else." However,in today present, having seen more than 800 anime,I would say 'i just like some shows that happen to be anime'. When I first watch anime,I admit it feel like the greatest things ever, probably because it's exotic as entertainment but now that I'm getting so used to it and getting old, the appeal of anime is losing on me. |

| 1) Animation is better at being speculative fiction (things like fantasy and sci-fi) than live-action. But anime is the only kind of animation that truly makes use of it. 2) Anime has the cutest girls. And most numerous girls. And it knows that we like it. Anime has a weird sense of shame about it, which can be fun. 3) Sometimes, anime raises questions other mediums are afraid to ask. It does so in a really fun way, unlike some boring long-winded article on the internet. 4) Anime is really good at having shows aimed at target audiences. The best part is, it's often aimed at people like me, while other mediums go out of their way to not be aimed at people like me. |

The general artstyle and character design somehow appeals to me 3. The comedy and general sense of humor is right up my alley 4. Japanese is somehow appealing to hear. VAs usually do a great job. 5. Animation is usually average, but when It's good, is pretty enticing. |

Seriously though (not that lolis aren't part of it mind you) thing that made me stick with anime after watching few of them was how they are all connected by community, cliches or used themes. Anime, manga VN's, LN's and other realted stuff feels like one big thing where everything is connected in some way - I didn't get such feeling when watching movies, reading books or playing games. I still picked 4th option anyway. Anime wouldn't be the same without grills. |
