----------------------------------------
Good battles this episode especially the second half imo. Narsus' battle strategies are always so clever.

Arslan has improved his personal combat skills as well and leadership abilities somewhat. Daryun's fight was short but worth watching as well. lso glad to see Gieve return in combat. The aftermath of the fight is a mess though but I think it depicts a realism of war. GG Turan.

That cliffhanger though ;o

Arslan charging blindly to the enemy leader with a single man to find himself in a pinch and being then saved by Gieve was a bit forced, but everything else was great.

Another very good episode, but the dialogue seemed oddly quiet compared to the music audio and other effects. It seems obvious now, but I never expected Andragoras to actually regroup with Arslan and take his place like that. I assumed he'd just find a small force of his own and inevitably lose/get captured again or die with Arslan only finding out later being busy with his own issues. Not surprised that he'd exile Arslan like this mind you, but a bit that Arslan doesn't seem like he'll fight it much.

Officially hate Andagoras..arslan is probably not his son..so he likes to f arslan around..

though now it explains why the gang is dressed up in casual clothes throughout the op and ed..

i hope arslan could kill his "dad" one day and claim the thrown..

I'm glad Gieve returned to their group so soon, I remember thinking he would be away from them for an extended amount of time when he first went off on his own. Andragoras is now playing a more significant role in the story, and that seems to be causing more problems for Arslan, as indicated by the end of the episode. I feel like Arslan is gonna have a rough time dealing with the fact that he got exiled, but he should pull through.

Also, what the hell was up with the sound this episode? The music seemed super loud and the dialogue could barely be heard at times.

People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

I think it's Funi's fault. It has happened before with other series.

Good episode. My only complaint is the sound of the tracks in the background was overwhelming we couldn't hear what they said at most of the times on the battlefield though they were merely calling each other out and taunting each other. If someone was watching without subs, he wouldn't understand well what's being said. But that aside, the story progressed well and as usual narsus and his great strategies. But damn Andragoras is cruel . So my theory, in order to assemble 50K men and pull through, Arslan will have to get the pirates on his side to march back to his father.

I wish I remembered more about first season. Arslan probably isn't his son (like some dude above said), right?

BTW, nice to see him upgrading his fighting skills, but I wish he would be smarter sometimes, I mean, contribute with the "intel", cause Narsus is winning every battle alone, basically... It would be cool if Arslan started being this wit as well.

So far I've been liking this season better than the previous one, some development for our silver haired boy, I feel.

Guess he is gonna take all his buddies with him, eh? At least I hope so. I also hope the King gets fucked, too much of a brute and terrible father, not to say, stupid as well.

On another note, the sound for this episode was terrible, unfortunately, but the experience was not ruined.

It seems that Narsus' decision to let Arslan talk alone with the Monarch is the perfect choice. Another chance for Arslan to learn more about war.
And talking about "perfect", it seems Gieve just come back to the team at perfect timing too.

Damn, the vocal track was too low during half the episode. Annoying.

Andragoras is an ungrateful, vicious bastard. What Arslan did was textbook, he didn't even know if his "father" was alive or not. I'm well aware that it's been perfectly hinted that Arslan is not his son, but he should at least pretend in front of his subjects. As much as I dislike Ironmask, I prefer him to Andragoras.

So exile it is, but I suppose Arslan get's to take his friends with him.

Because first and foremost , they are the king's subordinates. Arslan was just acting as a proxy before the king arrived as daryun said. Plus arslan told him to stand down when he opposed the king.

On another note, i loved that they kept my favorite OST from S1 . The one that played when naraus was speaking to the Turanian King.

Yesh, for all Arslan had done. A simple thank you would had been enough Andragonas...............
Other than that, now I understand what is the whole deal with the ships and naval warfare. Guess that the majority of the series is devoted to Arslan gathering an army on his own and not in his capacity as crown prince.
On that subject, Andragonas not trusting Arslan is understandable since he became King by fratricide.
As the story goes, it is a bet to see who depose of Andragonas first. Hilmes or Arslan ? Note I use the word "depose" because I dont think Arslan will kill him.

I'm really satisfied of Arslan's character development. Not a lot of characters are able to grow strong yet maintain their naive and kind personality even at the worst times.

I'm so glad Gieve came back to the group. It was about time :) Still ugh, I'm annoyed at the King. I really wonder how this anime will move forward in this situation now. My idea is to get the King gone but I know it isn't going to happen...

Gosh darn it, Andy (that's what I'm calling the king, now, it's faster), y u do dis. You were so savage the first episode, now you're just savagely an asshole.

Well, I guess that explains what Arslan and the gang are doing on a ship, I was wondering how that tied into them getting back to saving Ecbatana. So far he's got 8/50,000 (assuming Arslan, Daryun, Narsus, Elam, Alfreed, Geive, Farangis, Jaswant). Not off to a great start. Does Azrael count?

Yeah it is most obviously them, this series is going to adapt some events beyond the previous OVA series ending (unless the opening is a lie), but a few episodes should still be about events that were in the OVAs.

So, now that Andragoras has taken over and that 'punishment' he gave Arslan we're effectively back at square one. Thanks a lot, dad.
Also, why were the music and sound effects so loud compared to the dialog in this episode? Super weird.

I am really enjoying this. I'm actually glad Andragoras came back and exiled Arslan because now he's gonna have to keep on getting stronger and stronger both as a warrior and as a ruler in order to create his own army and conquer pars in order to pass on his ideals. Oh man I can't wait for his fight with Andragoras that's gonna be epic. It's a shame this is only 8 eps, I'm sure there's more material to adapt.

One bad thing I have to mention though was the sound during the battle. Do they not watch the episode before it airs or something? The music was amazing and the war sound effects were great, but the whole thing sounded like shit because you couldn't hear what the characters were saying. It's a good thing the majority of us watch it subbed so we were able to read what was being said but for the Japanese viewers I can't imagine they would have been able to make out what was being said without re watching it a few times. Well it was probably just a mistake but it's one that really shouldn't happen.

But it's important to remember that a movie review is subjective;it only gives you one person's opinion.

The part with Andragoras returning and (indirectly) exiling Arslan was the best part of the episode, as the battle against Turan was predictable ("oh, look! Another time Narsus's plan ends giving the victory to the heroes, what a surprising outcome" =_=), and again, the plot armor of Arslan it's so thick even made Gieve return in time to save him.

Hope this exile makes Arslan grow more as a character, because that would be great to see. He achieving his victories using his own ways of recruiting soldiers and not because people follow him for his lineage would be a great chance to make him gain more followers.

Andragoras has to be the most retarded character in the series, Arslan already submit everything to him and he exiles him, this is only gonna create divide and doubt within his army, I can see a few of his men following Arslan. Dude is dumb he fucked his country and now he's gonna fuck what he's left with. I understand that maybe he's afraid that Arslan is gonna take over everything eventually if he stayed or something and he's scared for his position but exiling him ain't gonna help.
Arslan the liberator now has to liberate his own army.

Eh, Andragoras exiling Arslan doesn't really make much sense at all. It's clearly a worse alternative to letting Arslan just continue on doing what he's been doing. Makes it feel kinda forced in order to put Arslan on the backfoot again.

Andragoras must be threatened by arslan, he probably wasn't expecting arslan to be this charamatcic and influencial in his army when he named him crown prince. It's going to be annoying watching arslan start from zero again and rebuild but at least this time he has grown as a character so it might be a lot quicker than before. Laslty it the sounds this episode was way off, you could barely hear them talking over the freaking blade clashes and music, hope it's not like that again.
