| Personally, I don't really like the whole "tsundere" "yandere" ect thing in the first place. I think, judging a character just by what category they happen to fall into, doesn't make much sense. Sometimes it makes sense within the story for a character to have traits one would mark as tsundere, and often that does not make up the entirety of their character and they have plenty besides that trait to offer, so I do like some "tsundere characters". If all they have is that archetype, then I usually do dislike them, yes, because they aren't good/well developed characters, but that goes the same for the other "dere" categories. Does that make sense? But I think, in general, tsundere characters often come across as bitchy and hair-triggered, which rubs many people the wrong way. |
